DL Vermont is simply an outstanding Law Firm! The whole team from the Lawyers, Paralegals and investigators, are all extremely conscientious, ethical, honest and very knowledgeable. The whole team is exactly what they present from the first time you meet them. Nothing short of humane and understanding of any situation life unfortunately can present. They state they are "out of the box thinkers", that is hands down exactly what makes them great at what they do. Sam and his team are nothing short of people with integrity that you want in your corner. I had never experienced the Court system, hired a Lawyer or knew anything that I was up against. The whole team was very informative, very patient with me, transparent at all times, and kept me up to date on the process at a moments notice of them knowing. From providing support, lunch meetings/check-ins and advice on how to find peaceful ways to make it through the process. This firm hands down is the sole reason I made it through my situation with my dignity in tact, and the outcome better than I expected! The attorneys and the paralegal at DL Vermont work as an incredible team and are totally dedicated to their clients. They certainly worked tirelessly to create the best outcomes for me. I was looking for a lawyer who would be aggressive and effective in a complex legal matter, and I was highly satisfied with DL Vermont.

It's the situations in life you do not expect that take your breath away. One morning I had a frantic call from a friend I never dreamed would happen. This person's spouse had experienced a mental health issue that quickly turned life-threatening for my friend. With the help of local law enforcement, the individual fled the family with nothing, young children in tow and went immediately into hiding. After hiring an attorney and having all kinds of issues in regards to calls not being returned and dealing with incompetent office staff. We decided to look for another attorney, thankfully we found Sherry Armstrong. She was very quick in responding to our numerous questions with thoughtful and detailed texts and email. We would get responses within minutes- what a great way to treat people and run a business. Her fees were also less than our first attorney. And oh by the way, she got our charges dismissed!! I can't say enough good things about Sherry, awesome person thats also a fantastic attorney.

Anytime you have to hire an attorney you are already stressed but in my situation, I was beyond that point. My 14 and 16 year old granddaughters had been living in a less than ideal household for the past 6 years but in NC grandparents do not have any legal rights to their grandchildren. I was 6 years into a waiting game, then a incident happened with the 16 year old. I called Austen on a Tuesday, met with him on Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday had emergency custody of my granddaughters. Since then, we have been to court and I now have permanent custody. I made the best decision in hiring Austen Jud. He made sure he was there when I needed him, he kept me informed of what he was doing and what he needed from me. He knew how sensitive my situation was and had my granddaughters best interest at heart during the most difficult time of our lives. I made the right choice in hiring Austen Jud.

This review is long overdue and is more than well-deserved. A couple of years back, I had visited Staunton, VA with some friends. Before the night was over, I had received a charge and had to return for court. I looked around at several attorneys and had a few consultations. After a few rounds of that, I found Susan through a Google search and contacted her. She offered a free consultation and spent 30+ minutes with me on the phone going over the details of my case and the events leading up to the charge. She was extremely knowledgeable, proactive, and genuine in the consultation, which really stood out to me more than the other attorneys I spoke with. She gave me very solid advice and offered a very fair price for representation. I thought it over for a couple of hours and I quickly called her back, which was a very good decision. In the months leading up to the court date, Susan checked in on me several times and gave advice. When the day finally came to go to court, Susan talked to the prosecuting attorney and they decided not to pursue the charges against me, and gave me 25 hours of community service instead. The anxiety and tension I felt about potentially having a charge on my record faded away after that date. I could not be more grateful for the great work that Susan did for me. I will always recommend her to anyone who's looking for legal representation in Staunton and the surrounding areas.

After finding myself in active addiction, I had made some poor decisions and found myself in legal issues. Therefore I wanted a better life and sought treatment. My largest challenge was felony and misdemeanor charges for my questionable behavior. I learned of Kerri’s hardworking efforts in the addiction arena through her advocation of the drug court in Forsyth county. A person assisting me with my recovery directed me to her. She listened with a caring ear and passed no judgement on me. She understood my bad decisions were motivated by my addiction. She represented me to the court as a human being that was seeking assistance to be the great person I was intended to be. She understood their were consequences for my actions and pled to the court that my consequences would be proactive, effective, and assistive in me bettering myself. Her explanation of my character and the person I truly am encouraged the court to hand down a lesser charge and lesser sentence. Understanding the length of time it takes to recover from active addiction she went one step further. She pleaded to the court and recommended that part of my consequences for my behavior would be to be legally responsible to complete my treatment program. I had never had the experience of an attorney treating me as a human being and expressing my value as a person to the court. The fact that she went above and beyond and recommended to the court to hold me legally responsible to complete my treatment demonstrated to me that she really cared about me. This was but a glimpse although a large hurdle of one of the challenges I faced in my early active recovery. Kerri’s action and compassion have assisted me in being a person in long term recovery. Ms. Sigler is not just an attorney she is a humanitarian. To this day she still reaches out to me after the case has been closed and I have completed my legal obligations. I would only pray that other representatives of the legal system follow her lead. My gratitude and thankfulness could never be expressed enough. Thank you Kerri.

Andrea represented me in case where I was accused of assaulting two minors. The case went to trial and I was acquitted of all charges. It was a stressful experience, and I was happy to have Andrea on my side.
Her preparation was thorough. She left no stone uncovered during her investigation pretrial. She did a great job during trial too. I thought her questioning of the witnesses was perfect, and I was very impressed with her approach to questioning the two children who testified in the case.
I also appreciated that she was very available for communication with me throughout the whole process.
I hope to never again find myself in a similar situation, but if I do, I know who I will be calling!

My child has a learning disability and after being denied by the school board that they would not place my child out of district to be educated to accommodate his educational needs I needed help in getting my child in a school that was appropriate for him. I spoke with Attorney Keller and express my concerns on the denial and how i felt about my child being in a school environment that i did not feel safe about. I felt Attorney Keller understood exactly want i was seeking and what was appropriate and right concerning my child. She was right there from the onset of my case to the end. Susan has experience on both sides of the law. A former prosecutor, judge and now a defense attorney she can professionally and competently navigate the judicial system to your best advantage. She knows the in/outs of the system, what works best for you and has the experience you are in need of.
I was accused of 3rd degree assault with a domestic violence enhancer. Using her knowledge of the system, her relationships with Prosecutors and her expertise in working criminal cases, all the charges were dropped without ever going to trail. As a matter of fact I never talked to anyone, never met with a Prosecutor/D.A. or had to see the insides of a court room. Great job, professional service and fantastic advice.

Ms Barbara is a very "no nonsense", efficient professional while still being a caring and concerned individual.I was recommended to Barbara by another attorney, and I cant express how glad I was to hire Barbara. Jennifer Matthews Is a phenomenal Lawyer. She worked with me on my Traffic (DUI ) case, and helped guide me every step of the way. She was very patience and understanding of what was a very sensitive case for me (Due to my secret clearance and military background ) . I was worried, and nervous about what was going to happen to me, and I also thought it was going to hurt my career. Jennifer was very discreet while working on my case, which was very reassuring.
Before I decided to look her up, I visited quite a few lawyers to talk about my case, and needless to say they were less than helpful. Most of them made me feel more like a number than they actually cared. I was running low on time and I went to go this one lawyer who was going to have me just take the quick and easy way out (take a deal / Plea), and was going to charge me an astronomical amount to do so. Needless to say I was thinking about just representing myself that is until I came across Jennifer Matthews name on a review website. I was going to give one last person a try, because it was starting to become draining seeing so many people and explaining the case. I started by giving her a call and talking to her on the phone, I already within 5 minutes of talking to her felt a little more at ease. To be honest I was still skeptical though, most of the people that I spoke with on the phone sounded nice and like they cared... at first. I went to meet her in person (still skeptical and nervous) and as she introduced herself and I sat down I felt more comfortable than I did with any of the other people I talked to. We reviewed my case together and discussed what my options were at that time, and what I needed to do to get the case moving forward. She was straight forwarded with me from the start. She didn’t sugarcoat anything, and she put everything on the table. I knew everything from our first meeting, which was nice. I never felt like she was going leave me hanging or charge me extra later. I really liked how she talked to me as a person, not belittling me or treating me different because of my case. I can honestly say I trusted her.
As my court date came closer, she kept in touch on a regular bases and making sure we had everything we needed for the case. I never felt unprepared nor unimportant. The day of the trial she met me at the courthouse where she was fully prepared for the case. She knew what she was doing. She kept in contact with the court the whole time. Oh and not to mention her attention to detail, she found some inconsistencies in the reports on my case, which was for my benefit. Needless to say I would consider my case a huge win and I don’t think it would have ended the way it did with any other person by my side.
I’m sure this goes without saying I would most certainly recommend Jennifer to anyone who needs an amazing defense lawyer. She will be by your side every step of the way, and will not leave you hanging. She is the best, and It would be in anyone’s best interest that is in need of help to look her up.

My son was arrested for some pretty serious charges. I had never had to deal with anything like that before and didn't know where to begin. A friend who had Jennifer for a DUI recommended her. She was amazing! She helped us find a bail bondsman in the middle of the night. Met with us as soon as he was released. She really listened to us and took an immediate interest in the case. She took all the time necessary to explain the process, the court system, everything until we felt comfortable. I honestly don’t even know where to begin, Seth Lasater has been our attorney for going on 2 years and I will highly recommend him to anyone. We have had several different cases ranging from child custody to criminal where Seth has represented us, and I will have to say I do not have ONE single regret nor complaint about him. During all of our cases he has done all he can to make sure all bases are covered and takes the time to do any research that is needed. He is very knowledgeable about everyone of our cases and gives his legal opinion and recommendations on the best route to take on the case but will leave that final decision up to you if need be so that way you don’t feel pressured into having to go his route if you don’t feel confident in his decision and will take your opinions in consideration on anything you ask or think of but he gives you his insights and what the outcomes could be on each. I highly recommend Seth to anyone. When I say he does his research laws change all the time and not every case is the same they can be in the same category however be different incidents so yes research is needed to be 100% confident and successful and that would be for any attorney. However Seth makes sure you fully understand the circumstances and the possible outcomes of everything so you aren’t shocked if it doesn’t go as planned. You always hope for the best but it’s not always what you want and again that’s with any attorney, none of them can 100% guarantee you what the judges decision will

With that being said you know he is and has to be an amazing attorney for someone to keep the same one for so long if one is needed that long, that should be an eye opener there that we honestly can’t complain and honestly wouldn’t choose any other attorney. Seth will do everything in his legal power to make sure you get the desired outcome and will go completely at bat for you and defend you in every way possible and will listen and take in your thoughts and concerns regarding your case and give you any and all advice he can. Also with all this positivity and confidence in him being said isn’t because his fees are cheap of why I am writing this review because one his fees are pretty much average fees for an attorney there isn’t a shock to his fees due to his fees are straight across the board as pretty much any other attorney you will find and two I’m not being positive because he wanted me to be, this is all the 100% truth and coming from the heart. He is an amazing attorney and I promise you and I can guarantee you he will defend you 100% and do everything he has to do to make sure there isn’t any confusion along the way. He is very compassionate and easy to get in touch with and if he is out of the office he will get back with you in a timely manner. Lastly not to get too personal but it is public Seth lost his father a few weeks before one of our court dates and he still kept up with our court date and went at bat for us at court knowing what stress he had on him of losing a parent he still was very considerate of our case and we did get what we expected which is always a plus. So again I did this review because Seth deserves it and there isn’t enough words or reviews that I could say or leave that would amount to all the hard work and knowledge and help this man/attorney has done for our cases/family. I promise you will not be disappointed and regretful of choosing Seth Lasater as an attorney for divorce, child custody, criminal, family matters and etc. He does practice in a few more different types of cases but that is what we have had him for thus far. Mr Samuels was helpful as much as possible. I hired him over 2 years ago to assist me with my disability claim. I couldn't have been more pleased with the way he kept in touch and was always a step ahead in the claim process. As today,promptly returns calls.
I have a current insurance company issue & need guidance in the steps to get this rectified so providers can be paid as in the past 30+ yrs I have been with them as a spouse of a retiree.
Understandably, Mr Samuels does have to require a Escrow account deposit to start his assistance. He was very thorough in explaining the associated fee and is understandable given the possibility of time devoted. Unfortunately SSDI is my only income. I don't qualify for any assistance the government supposedly pays those who are unable to meet living requirements due to my being married and my husband receiving actually less per month than I do after the SS insurance Part B deduction.
Mr Samuels is so professional and shows genuine empathy given my disability when initially spoke with him in 2019. He has shown that same professionalism given my current situation. I would (and have) highly recommended this lawyer who genuinely cares more about the client than the understable need for case charge currency. However it is very competitive given the economy and other providers in his profession. Mr Samuels dedicated the time to assure my disability case moved swiftly through the system process and held true to any statement made. Worked with several of my providers as needed . Was very professional in guiding me through the required process of gathering office and the many procedure notes required by me from the Social Security Administration. Mr Samuels is very knowledgeable in the disability program and the way he breaks the language down to layman's terms is a helpful qualification of many definite accomplishments acquired by this top notch attorney.
