I have never particularly been in any substantial trouble with the law, but last year my life nearly turned upside down when I was faced with a false sexual battery accusation that would have left me, an innocent law abiding man, with over a decade on the sex offender registry had it not been for the exemplary support of Jerry Merril. Not only did Jerry go absolutely above and beyond to cover every possible issue in my case, spending countless hours going through piles of evidence, conducting investigations and research, coordinating work with experts, filing strategic motions, etc., but gave me an absolute steal of a deal in fees that essentially ended up equaling the value of three lawyers for the price of one. Jerry is a diligent, compassionate, and committed lawyer. I got into some trouble for the first time in my life (I am in my 5th decade) and he understood that the only fair outcome for my case was complete and utter eradication of the charges. He didn't promise that but said in certain cases that could be achieved. I had interviewed another attorney prior to meeting Jerry who I am sure would have been competent, but I don't believe would have gone the extra mile that Jerry went to acheive my goal of expungement. Not only did he achieve that goal but he kept me informed every step of the way so as to reduce my anxiety. He thinks outside the box so that in working the complex and frightening criminal justice system, I was not left to become a statistic but an innocent vindicated citizen. From the beginning he showed compassion for me and absolut profetionalism, my case took way longer than expected (over a year) mr Depew worked hard from the beginning till the end to win the case, he explored every possible avenue to win, when I offered him a little extra compensation because it was taking way too long for the court to show the police footage wen I got arrested he refused to take the extra money ( he is a thru gentleman, hard to find this days) I absolutely recommend mr Depew to anyone in need for a excelente lawyer.

I went through a situation that I’ve never been through and I should not have been in long story short I had three charges and was unaware. I found out through getting hired at this job when they did a background check they chose not to hire me and that’s when I became aware of my situation! So I had to prepare to turn myself in, which is something I’ve never done I didn’t do it right away I gathered information and did it about a month later I Went through that whole process ended up having to turn in my firearm. Matthew Rinaldi never filed A Motion For New Trial and scammed me for $15,000 and committed Fraud. He made a deal with The Prosecutor in my case. I’m a innocent wrongfully convicted man, and now I don’t have any money left to challenge or appeal my wrongful conviction because The McGregor Law Firm stole all of my money. Matthew Rinaldi is very unprofessional and thinks he knows it all. Matthew Rinaldi also acts like A Prosecutor instead of a Criminal Defense Attorney. Matthew will cross examine you like a Prosecutor, instead of talking about how to build your defense. Matthew Rinaldi doesn’t care about his clients. In my opinion he seems like a Undercover Detective working for The Prosecutors Office.

Attorney Lutgen is amazing. I had a misdemeanor case and instead of telling me to beat it because the case was beneath him like so many other lawyers did he actually took the time out to explain everything about my charges and the process to me. My son had a legal issue at school, naturally I was pretty freaked out. I called Mr. Provost after being given his number by another lawyer. It was his cell phone surprisingly. He answered the phone and set up a phone consultation later that night. He called back and discussed the law, gave general information and calmed me down. I asked to meet him at his office the next day and he had me wait until the school resource officer called since it might not be necessary. He gave me advice on how to handle the conversation. It turns out that everything was OK, as he said it would be, and I did not need to even meet him. I am amazed that he was so free with his time and advice. I actually mailed a check and a thank you even though he said payment was not necessary. I am truly impressed!

When first approaching my divorce I must have tried meeting every lawyer I possibly could in order to find the right fit. I ended up knowing right when meeting him that this was the person I wanted to represent me in my battle that was going to be the worst thing I had ever in my life went threw. I walked in his office with a ton of anger from not being able to see my kids and all the false information being said about me. By the 3rd time I seen him I had my head firmly secured and was able to focus 100% on my goals. He was only a attorney yet made such a HUGE positive impact and set me and my children on the right path and not simply because he was being paid to do so. At many times he showed his genuine care, compassion and understanding. My kids grew to know his name and are still to this day very thankful for him. I am a father that now has my kids the majority of the time and can see to it the kids have a bright future. A few years have passed since concluding my divorce and I was forced to be right back in court for contempt that was so far from the truth. I figured I could try to find a cheap attorney to hopefully quickly fix the problem, 2 years later and thousands being wasted nothing was fixed. I once again hired Ken and the problem was fixed and luckily I am out of court again. I learned my lesson, any future needs he will be my first call! You messed up but relief is nearby. You want an expert who will also listen to you, explain the situation and your options and put you in the best situation for a positive outcome. Martin is your guy. After you hire him when you are going through waves of freaking out you can come to Avvo and re-read the 100+ positive comments (I've read them all for comfort 8 times by now) and know you've done all you can to help your situation.
I put myself in a tough situation. I went out for a few drinks, nothing egregious but when I was leaving a parking lot I goosed it around a corner and squeeled my tires. I was pulled over and declined to talk the the officers about where I was that evening or participate in any sobriety tests. The prosecutors for DUI trials in Lake county are farmed out to a private firm and the state's firm sent their #1 top guy. Martin got us a Not Guilty on DUI and Reckless driving, and a modest fine and court supervision for squealing tires. Martin went head-to-head with the state's top dui prosecutor and left him noticeably pissed while we walked out with a huge W.
You'll be comforted by his understanding of Lake county courts and procedures. He will listen to you. We worked together to craft a defense and no point anything that I thought important was left unconsidered.
Even though my case hit a complication and dragged on a bit his flat rate fees were clear fair. Quite honestly they were about 75% of what I expected and was willing to pay for a proven winner.
He's super busy but will always make time for you. Most importantly, he's a genuinely good guy.
There's a reason for Martin's top rating. Do yourself a favor and pick the best. Get the free consult and make your own choice. It's hard to put a price in peace of mind. If you've read this, you've been informed. Unless you have another proven rockstar at your disposal to consider I strongly advise you to go with Martin.
