I contacted Gary Gernstenfield after a friend referred me to him. I was charged with a DUI and DWI after a night with friends in which I had made a bad judgement to get behind the wheel. It was apparent that when I met him he was passionate about his occupation and I felt like being represented by him would really benefit me. At my first visit to the office Mr. Gernstenfield explained the process to me and how the case would be approached. He had me immediately start attending an Alcohol Program in which would help my case. On the day of my court day he made me feel at ease and comfortable that the outcome will be in our favor. He was able to get me a PB&J ( Probation Before Judgment ) with 1 year of unsupervised Probation. I will definitely never hesitate to call him if I need his representation and refer him to friends.

Gary is a compassionate humanitarian, who guided my family through our troubled time. I was caught growing Marijuana in my home. The police threw the book at me 4 felonies 2 misdemeanors. In my experience he could have just accepted the charges with the evidence on hand but having a good relationship with district trial lawyers and a great rapport with most if not all local officers, he was able to bring all parties together to has out the facts and strengthen my case before the judge. My son was accused of a very serious sex crime. I did not find out about it until the day before the arrest. After the arrest I was grateful to have found Gary that same day, and Gary helped us deal not only with the legal issues, but also with the emotional and other practical issues. Gary treated my son with respect and dignity, as well as related to the entire family with sensitivity. Perhaps most importantly to my son’s long term outcome, he helped my son find what for him is very good treatment, and then maneuvered the situation so that my son was free and in treatment for almost a year before sentencing, which we expect to result in incarceration of about 2 years. For reasons of anonymity and privacy, I will not provide more details. Gary was always available and very involved and continues to be engaged in my son’s case, as mitigation seems to still be on Gary’s agenda for my son.
