It made me confident that I would get benefits by the interviews she gave me before meeting at the hearing. Joan is professional, yet shows compassion to her client and the problem at hand. My husband and I accompanied my brother to Joan for legal assistance and we were pleased with her patience and understanding while working with Dan. A person can file Social Security on their own but it is a long process and I know I could not have done this on my own. I was in a lot of pain, stressed, anxiety. Attorney Zimberlin is an expert in this area. The legal team sent requests for medical records from doctors, hospitals, therapy etc. I had a lot of forms to fill out and this was stressful enough. They sent everything to Social Security.

I had never hired a lawyer before, so I asked some friends about their lawyers. Two of them said that I should see Roberta, who lives in my town. I was nervous when I called, but her secretary, Jeanne, was very friendly. Jeanne asked me some questions, to make sure that Roberta could handle my case, and set up an appointment. She told me the first consultation was free. When I walked in, there was the cutest dog I have ever seen (he is Roberta's dog). His name is Sam. Jeanne asked me if I was ok with dogs. I was (I have three dogs), so I played with him until Roberta met with me.
Roberta was very friendly and asked a lot of questions about me, my health, my children, and why I was meeting with her. It was very easy to talk to her. I told her I needed a Will. She explained that I should also have a Power of Attorney and Health Care Proxy. She asked me if I was concerned about protecting my house and savings if I had to go into a nursing home. I was glad she asked. I was worried about it, but didn't know how to ask about what I could do. I didn't want the State to take my housel. She told me about MassHealth, a program that pays for the nursing home. She asked if my husband (he died three years ago) was a veteran. When I said that he served in World War II, she said that I could apply for Veterans Aid and Attendance benefits if I needed money to pay home health aides to help me stay in my home. She also said that I should contact the local Elder Services Agency if I need help to stay in my home.
She also explained that if I did no planning, all of my savings and my house could be lost if I had to go into a nursing home. She told me about deeding my house to my children with a life estate for me and setting up a trust that could not be changed. It was a lot of information. Roberta could tell I was confused, so she suggested that we have a second meeting, with my children there. She said that my children would be involved in my estate planning, and they should understand the ways I could protect my house and savings. We had a second meeting with my children at the meeting. After the meeting, we decided that the Trust (an irrevocable trust) was the best way to protect my home and savings.
Roberta sent documents to me and my children with a letter explaining everything. I went over the documents with my children. I didn't understand some of the legal language, but my children did, so I felt good about signing the documents. We had a third meeting. Roberta explained everything again before we signed, to make sure that we understood and then we signed the documents.
I am so glad I called her. I didn't think that an attorney would be that friendly. She did her best to make sure that I (and my children) understood the documents that we were signing. I admit I don't understand everything, but my children do. And I trust Roberta. I feel like that I did the right things to protect my home and my savings. Roberta is very smart and knows a lot about programs for older clients. My children also like her. My son is going to do his estate plan with her. I like everything about going to her office. There are bowls of candy and I really like her dog, Sam.

I called Attorney Schreiber because my mother has alheimers. She was living with me and my family, and we were all stressed out. I have a part time job, a husband and three children. Someone had to watch my mother all of the time. We had to figure out how to keep her from wandering away from the house or turning on the stove and leaving an empty pot on it. I was exhausted by the time I met with Roberta. The first thing that she did was help us get a Personal Care Attendant through MassHealth, at a very low cost to us. That really helped. When my mother got worse, Roberta helped us find a good nurinsg home nearby and she applied for MassHealth to pay for my mother's care. Roberta made things so much easier for me. She did all of the paperwork to get my mother benefits. She is a very caring person. She understood what I was going through (she told me that her father had been in a nursing home before he died). She always returned my calls. I am so grateful that I found her.

I consulted Attorney Schreiber because I was appointed as Executor of my mother's estate. The first attorney that I hired was not responsive and did not tell me what to do after I was appointed. My sisters were asking what was happening, and I was not able to tell them. A friend told me about Attorney Schreiber and I made an appointment to meet with her. She and her assistant were friendly, and I liked them right away. I was offered cofffe, tea, or water and there was a plate of cookies. Attorney Schreiber was right on time. From the first meeting, she told me exactly what to do. She also gave me a checklist to consult after I left the office. She helped me find a good real estate broker and my mother's house was sold three months later. She told me how to close out my mother's bank accounts and she filled out the paperwork to sell the stock. She wrote to my sisters to tell them what was going on. She worked with my mother's accountant to make sure that the correct tax returns were filed. Everything was settled about eight months after I met with her. My sisters and I got our distributions and the estate was done. My sisters and I are very happy with Attorney Schreiber. She even returned telephone calls on the same day.

My SSDI case was quite a unique one. My entire case was conducted during the COVID pandemic, entailing that I never personally met any of the lawyers or staff. All proceedings & communications were conducted over the phone, via email or through the US mail; including 3 hearings with the ALJ judge and numerous conversations with SSA.

I have consulted with Maureen Cooper for two different issues related to divorce and alimony . In the past , the thought of consulting with any attorney was one associated with fear and dread . I have had contact with lawyers in the past who had no genuine desire to help me quickly resolve a problem or to provide straight answers . I had never consulted with an attorney who genuinely wanted to earn the respect and trust of others as much as he wanted to take advantage of my problem for his own profit .
Ms. Cooper is a rare gem because she is competent , straight forward , not manipulative and earnest in her desire to assist people and not exploit their problems to advance herself in an unfair way . She is a good person , and if someone needs an attorney they can trust who will not take advantage of them , she is the first person to call . I hold her in high esteem and feel thankful to know an attorney of her caliber in competence and human decency .

Couldn't of had the result I had if it wasn't for Adam. Got the settlement we were looking for after jumping through a couple interesting situations. Adam was not phased by this. He was very responsive, kept me in the loop and let me know of the timeline of things as they happened.
I felt comfortable the whole time during the process, as it does take awhile with our situation we had.

Adam took an interest first and foremost in my physical health. He made sure I got an examination as soon as possible after my accident to ensure swift and accurate care. He was wonderful about staying in contact throughout the entire process and keeping me informed of all important events pertinent to my case. He made sure I was always aware of what I needed to do on my end as far as paperwork and doctors visits were concerned. Prior to my move to SC, I knew I had to find an attorney to represent me after relocating. I knew no one and took a chance using AVVO's website and sent an email off to Ms. Poe which provided my first surprise when I received a response within an hour acknowledging my inquiry and informing me that she was on vacation. Being the fastest response ever from an attorney, I chose to wait until she returned and I was settled to request a consultation. I recontacted her a week after settling in and realized I had a deadline approaching and hoped that a meeting to be arranged quickly to compensate for my failure to contact her earlier. I sent an email off to her and was surprised to see I had a voicemail from Keith her associate within the hour. I returned the call hoping not to sound anxious regarding my time constraints and Keith without being asked immediately offered me several times to meet in addition to offering a choice of offices that would be most convenient to my location. With little familiarity to the area he assisted me in choosing the location and I failed to make a note of the zip code. I called Keith since I was not able to find their office only to learn I was not even the right town. Before I could share my embarrassment along with the fact that a rescheduled appointment could eliminate my chances of meeting the hard deadline facing me. He had me on my way to their other office 30 minutes away and assured me not to worry and meet as planned. I was relieved and surprised by how gracious he was. I My wife and I were met by Ms. Poe and she would not allow us to be concerned about my mistake altering the time that was scheduled on our behalf. We were amazed by how welcome we felt along with providing all the time necessary to obtain all the necessary information, provide clarity about the process and insured all our questions were answered. In addition to the case issues she provided valuable information regarding some off topic questions we had concerning our move and the area. Referring to the title, I had never nor would I been able to describe a meeting with an attorney as being delightful. She inspired my confidence with her knowledge, professionalism and clarity in providing realistic expectations based on her knowledge of the local political arena that is almost always the most difficult to navigate. In addition to delightful, my wife and I left knowing we had hired an attorney that is not only the best in her field but someone that we are excited to have representing us as well as the added bonus of having met a person we can completely trust.

I'm writing this review because by far, Mr. Falkiewicz literally saved my daughters wellbeing. I, being a 20 year Army Veteran and living in Florida was able to take on my custody case. I did my research, made some phone calls and then made the best decision. I don't believe all lawyers are the same. Mr. Falkiewicz is very courteous and really took to heart the case at hand and went above and beyond. Even now when needing a court document from South Carolina, since I still reside in Florida, was able to retrieve it for me for child support purposes. His Professional demeanor excels him, when he took my case, he knew exactly what needed to be done and explained in detail what was expected of me and to this day, I'm still indebted to him. By that, I mean my daughter is in a better place. Living with her mother, she was in a drug environment home and at 7 years old, was put in the position of being the adult and missed 45 days of school because of the conditions her mother put her in. Without Mr. Falkiewiczs’ knowledge she might still be in that environment and I owe her happiness to him. So, if you're looking for a lawyer to get things done, my advice is that you can stop your search here.

Brian is great. Last year my family hired him after SSI turned down my disability claim. I met with him publicly with my parents at least 4 times to discuss my options, and he reviewed my paperwork for weeks until he determined that I was wrongly turned down to earn SSD for my autism disability. I’m mildly disabled but can’t cook on my own and can’t EVER afford to live on my own, so he filed a lawsuit against the social security office. We went in front of a judge twice, because my first court appaearance got pushed back for no reason, and I finally stood my ground and reasoned that I have been disabled since 2009 and need more money help than just my part-time job, including that every employer in my town has refused to hire me full time due to my neurological disability, and it’s my right to appeal the refusal for social security disability pay. It took around a month but the judge was completely on my side and decided that I was in full favor of SSD payments. Brian won my case and ever since January of this year, I’ve earned monthly SSD pay to help me live off of plus my part-time job paycheck. Brian really cared about me to fight tooth and nail to win my case. He was extremely respectful and professional, even called me for consultations since my scheduling wouldn’t always allow me to meet in Greensburg to discuss my case with him. I was turned down by 2 mega firms here in Pittsburgh. Robert pierce was one of them and I forget the other. I was let down and fed up with disability attorneys and their bs. A friend recommended I go see Brian. I get there and he immediately says it will take time and he's going to start my cases over from scratch to build them. So we did. He guided me through the process and a year or so later we had a hearing. We won. I got my benefits.
The big guys will turn you down if you're not a sure thing. I use fedex vs a pedestrian in a crosswalk as example. If your not a case like that for SSDI/SSI, you'll get rejected my the mega firms like Edgar Snyder and Robert pierce. They will abandon you days before your hearing even. I've heard reports of it happening. Brian will not do this. He is super personal and trustworthy. We have a great client attorney relationship and he went over and beyond his call of duty when he could have just told me what the mega firms did and sent me on my way because I was "to much work and not a sure win".
Do yourself a favor and retain him for your SSDI/SSI needs. You won't be disappointed. I sincerely promise you that. From the bottom of my heart.

I have a rather complex disability case. So I have been working in my profession for about seven years and, for the last year, I have had to miss about 8 months of work for some inexplicable reason. After being told I was insane by doctors,and declining neurologically for a year, I realized something was terribly wrong. Finally I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my cervical spine, and scoliosis with 2 curves in it. As it were, it seems that my herniated disc might have been going untreated for almost a year. At my age, I am informed that I am too young to have these problems. Anyways, Mr. Shaffman took this case as a long term disability matter and he is on top of it. His initial consultation was complimentary and was an entire hour. Excellent interaction, and he was very nice. The next time I called him, we talked for nearly another hour and exchanged pleasantries, and then we sealed the deal. After I began to email him, he gave me a very long, and obviously substantive response. It looked well-crafted. As I reiterate the sentiment of a prior reviewer who stated she had never interacted with a paralegal, I am glad to report that my experience has been the same; I have interfaced with him alone. After consulting with several different attorneys regarding my long-term disability / retirement case, I came across Scott Shaffman. Mr. Shaffman is not only detailed oriented, but is extremely knowledgeable in his area of practice. Several things set this attorney above others.
First, he deals one-on-one with his clients. There is no paralegal that prepares paperwork. He does it himself. One of the many benefits of this is an attorney who is extremely familiar with the case through first hand knowledge. I appreciated this. The other attorneys I consulted with before I hired Mr. Shaffman all had paralegals.
Second, he knows the law when it comes to these types of cases and is unsurpassed with his overall knowledge and how-to. It's amazing and fascinating how he operates. He always was pulling up case law and shaping my case for the best chances to be successful.
Third, his response time is amazing. Most times he answered the phone when I called. If not, he called back almost always within hours. What attorneys do this? Impressive!

Steve and everyone in is office are the best. When my wife and I first met with him at the initial consultation, he determined that he couldn't help us. However, he still took time to explain our options to us even though he wouldn't receive any benefit. When our situation changed, I went back to Steve for help. This time he said that he could help my wife apply for medicaid. We became clients of his and I'm glad we did. A couple of issues came up during the application process and Steve knew exactly what to do. He was very thorough and made sure everything was in order before submitting the application. When medicaid eligibility was denied, he knew that the reason given wasn't valid. Steve challenged the denial and they tried another reason for denial, but Steve knew that wasn't right either. Katie took my SS disability case after it was rejected when I first submitted it. She thought it was not defended very well and my doctor’s reports were not fully submitted as evidence, so she agreed to represent me. She helped me collect more information and reports from my doctors that described my disability better and matched how I felt. I couldn’t have done this on my own.
