I was pulled over and charged with DWI in April 2018. I found Mr. Tillotson by doing a search for top DUI Lawyers in Richmond. He came up even though he was in Newport News. I called his office and spoke with him about my case and decided to retain him for my case. Not knowing what to expect and feeling like my life was over and there was no way to get out of this charge, he made me feel better with his knowledge of different aspects of DUI charges. He will go through your case bit by bit and look at everything. The morning we went to court, he spoke with the prosecutor, who didn't seem like he was willing to budge. Mr. Tillotson was very persistent with the prosecutor and the arresting officer on the evidence he had to prove that the officer exaggerated in his report as well as the fact that I was on a low carb diet, which can affect your BAC. He was able to get them to agree to reduce the charge down to a Reckless Driving charge with a restricted license for 6 months, which is much better than what I would have received if convicted of a DUI/DWI. I can not recommend a better lawyer for DUI/DWI charges. He is well worth the money spent.

Mark represented me for a speeding ticket I received when traveling through Virginia. He gave me great advice leading up to the court date that showed I was serious about correcting the mistake I made the day of the ticket. He was always available leading up to the court date, his staff was always friendly and helpful. On the day of the court date, Mark was all positive energy and calmed any nerves I had leading up to my hearing. By the end of it all he was able to make my case and the court threw out my ticket and it was never put on my record. I would highly recommend Mark and his staff in the future.

Mr. Tillotson is definitely worth the money. My husband was working in VA and got pulled over. The cop treated him very unfair. My husband has osteoarthritis and osteonecrosis of both hips, and also has 3 pins in his left hip from a fracture when he was a teenager. These problems of coarse cause him to have some difficulties walking with one foot in front of the other and also getting in and out of the vehicle. The cop assumed that my husband was drunk. Also, the cop done an eye exam and said that his eyes were jerking side to side and this was because of alcohol. He never asked if he had a history of a concussion, which my husband does....more than 1 in his life. This was also proven in court. The cop proceeded to say that his speech was slow and slurred. Needless to say that even the judge noticed his Appalachian accent (we are from the mountains of NC). The charge of DUI was dropped and he was only found guilty of driving left of center. We are very thankful for Mr. Tillotson and that my husband did not loose his license or have to do any jail time.

What seemed all doom and gloom with the possibility of this case being life altering, we could not have asked for a better outcome. Mr tillotson helped me with my first dui and car crash. The max fine I could have got was a year in jail and up to a $2500 fine. Mr tillotson was able to drop my high BAC level, only 2 days in jail, $500 fine and an interlock in my car for 6 months. I have a restricted licenses for a year. He is definitely worth the money. I was charged with DWI, 1st. I was barely 21, terrified, and this charge would have caused me to not be able to sit for a national examination that my career relied on. With a lot of hard work and dedication to my case, he was able to get my charged dropped to a reckless driving charge. Mr. Matney is an awesome lawyer! From the moment I chose him to represent my case, I knew I had made the right choice. He and his staff were always in contact with me keeping me updated. I was given a ticket for speeding in a work zone late at night outside of work zone hours. This ticket would've given me a huge fine plus possible reckless driving.
