I was charged with reckless driving and DUI. I spent the night in jail being treated like scum. There were a lot of lawyers in Newport News but Mark Matney caught my attention on google. I contacted him for a free consultation and we spoke about my case. I had a good feeling about him and I knew he had done A LOT of cases. After hiring Mark, he moved the court date back a few months which gave me time to save for fines and ASAP. There was a lack of communication during that time, but I hear that’s par for the course. We didn’t get any discovery until 2 business days before the court date. I was worried about losing everything I had worked so hard for....sacrificed for... He told me that we had a case and we should go down swinging if the prosecutor doesn’t make an offer. When I met Mark in the courthouse he told me that the prosecutor offered a plea deal. Which is what I had hoped for. I ate the reckless and the DUI was dismissed. No ignition interlock and no probation. I left the courthouse looking like Will Smith in Pursuit of Happiness. Don’t do it alone!

Mr.Matney was a pleasure to work with! Him and his team were very prompt in letting me know what I should do before court to ensure the best outcome. I did as they said and when court came, my speeding in a residential zone was brought down to a defective speedometer. Hi, I bought a car from Virginia, from Iaai action, I am from Seattle, flu there pickedup the car, the dmv was making only apoitment there( in Seatlle, WA state they were open), couldn't obtain travel document , I had to drive back to Seatlle, got stopped and got a ticket for no proof of registration, contacted Mark and he got the ticket dismissed without having me to fly back to court in Virginia, excellent service, thank you.
