Today I'm writing a review for someone who basically saved my life. I am a professional who started a career at a young age. Became a first responded right out of high school 30 years ago. My career has allowed me to help many people who were sick or injured, and I will humbley say that I have had the opportunity to know the feeling of saving a human life, and I have the awards to show for it. But last fall I encountered a legal issue that jeopardized my career and my financial stability. I decided I needed without any doubt to hire a lawyer who would literally hold my life in her hands. I have made many difficult decisions throughout my life and this decision now, was one that will determine how my life will be when all the legal issues were settled. Stevie Phillips was the lawyer I decided to trust with my life. Stevie immediately set up an appointment so we could meet, and discuss the options I had. She always answered my calls or texts as soon as she was able. In the end, charges were reduced and she was the one who save my life. I just want to give a big thank you to Stevie! I appointed him attorney-in-fact over my finances during incarceration, and he maintains the highest standard of professional ethics. He keeps detailed and complete records of every transaction, and he successfully manages demand deposit (checking and savings), credit, and insurance accounts for me. He effectively navigates the intimidating bureaucracy of VADOC, an admirable feat in itself. I retained him again to coordinate my reentry planning, and I am currently residing in the clean and safe apartment he leased for me with power of attorney. I met with several attorneys to help with a recent case. Bryan was the only one that took the time to ask questions and better understand me, my background, and the situation I found myself in. Every other attorney told me that I had no choice but to accept some fairly harsh penalties to which I was facing. Bryan spent a good amount of time listening to me, afterwards stating that he believed he could help minimize those penalties. When everyone else told me this was not possible, Bryan expressed confidence in his ability to help. And Bryan delivered. This was the first (and hopefully only) time I have needed an attorney in a criminal case, and did not even know where to start. When I was involved in a DUII I was scared, ashamed and felt alone. I was also panicking because I’ve never had to hire an attorney so was already overwhelmed with where to start. It was a holiday weekend, a bit of research and they answered the phone on Thanksgiving Day, which spoke volumes. Every single person I interacted with in the office, from receptionist, to legal assistants, to attorney, were reassuring, kind, understanding and knowledgeable. We hired him for a case of termination of parental rights and adoption of minors. It is needless to say the case resulted in our favor. I made a very bad choice one day. I was sure I was looking at several months in jail minimum. The first time I spoke with Eric, his intelligence, confidence, compassion and reassurance gave me such relief. I couldn’t believe he took my case as it was very challenging. I was anxious going to court but he really came to know me as a person, not just a case. He was genuinely concerned about my wellbeing and told me to let him worry about things. I called Dana and hired him to represent a family member in a DUI case. Dana looked at all of the discovery materials and one thing didn’t quite feel right to him. He requested follow up documentation from the DA’s office, who stalled and deferred for close to a year, postponing court dates multiple times. Dana didn’t back off, and the DA finally admitted that he didn’t have the media Dana was requesting.
He negotiated a favorable plea agreement that was far better than what we thought was possible. I’d hire Dana again without hesitation.

From the first time we spoke on the phone until my court date was over, he was top notch. I've used many attorneys throughout life and he is by far the best I've used. Their prompt and timely help made it possible for me to get this matter handled while living in another state. Recently I needed representation in an Alabama case. I live in Virginia and had no insight regarding attorneys practicing in Southeast Alabama. I would recommend Craig if you need legal help. I won't go into specifics regarding what my charges were but lets just say I made a terrible decision due to alcohol. I called the number expecting to speak to a paralegal or a Receptionist to set up a consult. Instead I spoke directly to Matt. We went pretty much right into a consult. He listened to me, reviewed what I told him and offered extremely helpful advice. Unfortunately, Matt can not handle the complexities of my case(mostly family law), but he did suggest some other attorneys and gave me some great advice.
I reached out to Matt a few days later to ask if he could send me some documents I had a hard time finding online. Matt promptly responded back and emailed the documents over to me.
I really appreciated how personal he was. He seemed very straightforward and honest. I would have loved to have him handle my case, but I understand the reasons he couldn't.
I will definitely use Matt in the future(God forbid I need him)

I was absolutely terrified and blindsided when I received notice that, after the welfare department waived renewal requirements for Medicaid and SNAP benefits in 2020, due to the pandemic- I was being charged with welfare fraud (having not appropriately updated them in writing with my salary change).
I received a form letter about a month later, advertising Attorney Lehman’s experience. Having no idea where else to turn, I called her office. I was fairly skeptical, but after speaking with her, I hired her, based on her calm, matter-of-fact demeanor, and reassurance that she could handle this case.
Although I remained anxious- as we only communicated over the phone and through email a couple times before the preliminary hearing- she more than deserves a 5-star rating.
The result was that I needed to repay the overpayment that welfare had given me, which is completely understandable. But when I’d first been notified of the criminal charges, and offered to repay whatever I wasn’t entitled to, the investigator stated that this wasn’t an option.
It had seemed like a misunderstanding, that occurred during a worldwide emergency, would mean a permanent criminal record, and possibly prison. Attorney Lehman was able to negotiate a dismissal of charges altogether- which I doubt would have happened otherwise. She provided not only legal expertise, but the reassurance and competence throughout this ordeal that was invaluable.

He recommended I take the deal, which I did. But I remember very well he added if I did 2 years of the 5 years’ probation he would work to get me released sooner. Inside, I didn’t believe that would happen and he wasn’t being honest. But 2 years later to the date he followed through, and I was released from probation. And what a relief. Not being worried all the time. Yes, I had things to do on my end to make that happen. But I go to enough AA meetings and hear of similar offers people get and their lawyers do not follow through. Even when the person does their part. That is why I was lucky (grateful) to have him. That look he gave me in my eyes was sincere, even though at the time I wasn’t believing it.
