When my husband and I learned of his ex-wife's habit of doing drugs in front of their children we were horrified and had no idea what to do. On the recommendation of a friend we contacted Earl who took a heartfelt approach to our case and helped us immensely. He was very honest and straightforward and it was clear that he really cared about us and the well-being of our children. It was very long but very rewarding, in June of 2017 I adopted my step-children and they will never again be exposed to drugs and domestic violence as they were in their biological mothers homes, plural as she was constantly living with different men. We have Earl Patton solely to thank for that and nothing I could ever do could show how grateful I am for that. I was in a situation where there were many people that didn’t like me and chose to try and take me down for crimes that I didn’t commit Ms. Mockrin did the work to get details of my case revealed to prove my innocence went over all police records painstakingly watched over two and a half hours of video footage that was being used against me watched every second of it to point things out that ultimately proved my innocence she made sure she had a medical expert that had credentials to testify in a court of law in my defense he was able to explain to the jury the difference in some of the medical assessments done which also in turn further proved my innocence I am honored to have had someone that would take the time to look at my case and care she is a very passionate professional and I’m grateful that she isn’t one easy to push over because I’ll tell you things got very intense in there and she was able to keep me calm and focused the words I have written here are far from the words I can’t even find to describe my gratitude for this woman she fought for me when it seemed I had no hope

Rich handled my case perfectly and truly went above and beyond when I didn’t do what I was supposed to and saved me from harsher penalties. He took all the pressure off of me and handled majority on his own without me needing to be present or available and packaged the information I needed to know well so I was aware of my obligations. I had a dui back in 2020 and was placed into the ARD program, he extended court dates when I missed one and surprisingly got me some reprieve. He was communicative as needed and knew the process well. Truly an experienced and knowledgeable lawyer and glad he handled my case.

Our daughter was attending school in Florida when, unfortunately, she was involved in a motor vehicle accident. It was a incredibly scary time for us. We live very far away and are so grateful that Robert Solomon's name was passed along to her. I first met Maryam in 2013 while she worked diligently on a criminal case for my husband. She had truly been a Godsend to my family. Maryam went above and beyond to thoroughly represent my husband, she went as far as to obtain her notary license so that she could notarized an important document while my husband was incarcerated at MDC, LA. I could call on her and Maryam would be available. It gave me great peace of mind knowing that she was an attorney that actually cared about her clients. Maryam was honest with me and did not sugar-coat the severity of my husbands case. I felt safe and connected to her for her honesty. Tragically, my husband passed away in custody. I had not spoken to Maryam in well over a year (we ended up going with a public defender). I received a very heartfelt text from Maryam giving me her condolences and telling me how much she knew I loved my husband.
A year and half later in 2016, I hired her to represent my minor daughter for a DUI. Again, I cannot tell how much she went above and beyond to represent thoroughly for my family. She works hard, she's honest and she has a heart that truly wants to help her clients and represent them in the best possible way. Maryam took the time to sit and meet with my daughter and offered her ear and help even beyond the court room. My daughter received probation and Maryam did her homework and was able to save me thousands ($25+K) of dollars in a falsified restitution claim. I could never thank Maryam enough for all that she has done for me and my family. My daughter is now off of probation thanks for Maryam. She is on a much better path and is expecting.
I will say that I did not trust attorneys before. Maryam is an attorney that I literally trust with my life. She took the utmost care of my late husband and my daughter. She is very dear to my heart and I love her!

I had found Maryam Sharifi through a common aquantance and I will say I was very lucky to have been able to find a way to her. I had received a DUI charge that was pending as a felony and she did everything she could to save me jail time and bring it down to a misdemeanor. She had spoken with me dad and many occasions and went out of her way to keep him informed as well and she really got to know us had a genuine concern for my well being. She found a traffic school for me and made sure I kept up with any and all court assigned classes to make sure I got out of this okay. For a very long time I had a huge worry of going to jail and having to drop out of school and all that come with that; and Maryam has helped physically as well as mentally with all of that and I couldn't thank her enough. He addressed injustices that were made against our son and explained many facts, of the truth, that sheds a bright light for the jury to see and that light doesn't go out, for that is what the truth does, it shines bright. Matthew gave us hope, something the DA tried to destroy. The Shasta legal system is a process of delays, unnecessary jail time --for our son, questionable decisions made by appointed judges, unfair bail , this is 'not' a justice system in our point of view. This was frustrating for us and for our son. We experienced many injustices during my son's trial by opposing counsel and Shasta Sheriff dept. So you need a good lawyer when you are in Shasta's court system. If you are looking for a good defense lawyer consider Matthew, he cares for his client's well being, despite the uphill battle he faces when dealing with the opposing counsel's unprofessional behaviors, different judges and Shasta Sherriff/Probation dept., etc.. One more comment, if you read anything written via yelp, social media or in the newspaper, that is negative about Matthew's character, by certain people in Shasta county, don't believe them, they can't deal with Matthew being so good at his job and believing in our son's account regarding what really happened. Richard Meena is one of 2 attorneys I would ever recommend for literally just about anything. He took on my case in 2012 and WORKED MIRACLES. Adam was great from the very beginning. He listened to me and made it clear that he heard me, understood both me and my case, and knew how to proceed.
Adam kept me appraised of everything going on before it even happened, laying out the steps clearly, and taking the time to help me understand my options.
Right out of the gate he told me I had a good case, and that while there are no guarantees, he felt I had a strong chance of winning in trial.
However, when we discussed the options and what that would look like, he completely respected and supported my decision/preference to plea bargain if able in order to avoid the time and stress of going to trial. (Something I never have, and never want to do.)

I recently passed through a small town going faster than I should have (as I was honestly running late to a wedding). Ended up meeting a nice gentleman on the side of the highway and thought I would be looking at a speeding ticket real soon...
Well... I thought wrong, and I was actually looking at serving a 90 day sentence at the local bed and breakfast (correctional center).
I was referred to Mr. Nettles who “knew the law book from front to back.” I talked with him a few times and he went to work on my case. Later Mr. Nettles went to court on my behalf and took care of everything as he originally said he would. Scott really went above and beyond for me and I’m so thankful (and yes his knowledge of the law is extraordinary).
