I recently called upon Attorney Trey Martin once again for his legal assistance, this time for a traffic-related matter. After leaving work late one night, I came upon what I later learned was a traffic checkpoint. It was very poorly executed with no visible police presence in the road as I passed through. As a result, I was apprehended and cited for “resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer.”
With the same expertise and professionalism that he demonstrated during our last encounter in the fall of 2012 (previous review here [https://www.avvo.com/attorneys/28422-nc-fred-martin-4181062/reviews.html?page=2] under “Susan N.” dated November 4, 2012), Attorney Martin scored another victory today with a complete dismissal of the charge! I used Sean to help me upgrade my OTH discharge. On our first visit, Sean was extremely professional and caring. He listened to my story with full attention. We went over my medical, mental and personnel records and made a timeline from when I first joined to when I left the service. Eventually, we put together a well designed case to submit to the Naval Discharge Review Board. I was not expecting it, but Sean was able to upgrade my discharge to full Honorable from an OTH. She will go above and beyond to get the best results. She will work with you and with prosecutor to get the best deal possible.
And if prosecutor is not willing to work with you, she will find the way to get things accomplished anyway. She prevented my marriage, 10 years professional career and personal situation from being ruined.
From supposly not defendable case ( according to lawyers),she made things happen that let me came out without any serious damage, and let me continue my professional career and future professional progress to be attainable.

Hired Jahnis Abelite to fight a speeding ticket that our daughter received in Bellingham. Due to Covid the courts kept delaying the date but when the date came he took care of the ticket. The best part is we didn't have to go to Bellingham he took care of everything. Ticket has been dismissed. This isn't our first time hiring his office, he comes through every time. I received a speeding ticket ( while coming from Seatac to Seattle on i-5 ) for first time in WA few months back. I contacted Stephanie and she made the whole experience seamless and very easy. She was very professional and nice when I spoke to her for the first time. I sent a scan copy of my ticket and rest everything was taken care by Stephanie. She basically took care of my ticket start to end and I never had to worry about it.
She got my ticket dismissed to non-moving violation.

Generally when one is seeking an attorney, it's not because they are looking for a conversation or a new friend, there are extenuating circumstances that have taken place in one's life and an expert is needed to help defend or represent that individual. I have had this happen to me and I was very concerned and honestly worried about what could and may have happened to me. I found Stephanie, explained my circumstances to her and she did a phenomenal job in advising me, comforting me and ensuring I was aware the whole time of what was taking place with my case throughout my legal ordeals. Every time I had a question or concern she would get back to me ASAP, never leaving me wondering if she got my message or if she just didn't care. As happens sometimes I got myself into a situation in which I needed legal assistance. At first I was confused and scared as I had no idea where all of this would lead. I was very lucky that I found Brandon and that he was willing to take my case. Upon first meeting with Brandon I was immediately put at ease by his knowledge and overall attitude that he was more like a friend who will help you then a stuffy lawyer that is more annoyed to be bothered by your situation. John Hamasaki represented me for about a year after I was arrested in a protest. John was extraordinarily diligent. In late 2014, our family was hit by what seemed like the perfect storm. Our business was barely holding on, we began caretaking my grandfather post-stroke, and my grandmother was terminally ill. And when we thought things couldn't get harder, my father, a small businessman with a strong reputation in local SF community, was arrested based on false accusations. A man with no criminal history and has owned his business in the same location for over 25 years was charged with committing a criminal threat against a troublesome customer and brandishing a weapon when in reality it was self defense.
Although he has worked in the same location for so many years, it hasn't been the safest. Our store has been victim to many troublesome customers and robberies, including armed robberies, throughout the years. The day my father was arrested, he brandished a firearm in self defense because a hostile customer was challenging him to fight. Accused him of damaging items he barely touched and escalated to wanting to fight. When my dad wouldn't fight and instead brandished the firearm, the customer left and it seemed like the end of it.
Then the nightmare came. The customer had called the police and made up a story of how my father threatened his life with the firearm. And when the surveillance was pulled, there was no audio. My father was arrested and we began almost a year and a half journey of court hearings and worry. We hear all the time of innocent people wrongly convicted and incarcerated. What if my father became a statistic?
We spent a long time searching for the right lawyer as we were in a vulnerable position, skeptical of others especially after how the police handled the situation. We spent searching for a little over 2 weeks and John Hamasaki was our choice. From the very first phone call to our first meet, John was always very straightforward about our options and made it clear that it would be a process we would have to go through, but he would do everything he could to make sure we fought this case the right way. John was very attentive to all the details of the case and made our family feel that our case was of priority, which we appreciate a lot. We know lawyers are extremely busy handling multiple cases but John was never too busy to answer our countless questions. Everyone who worked in his office was always more than courteous and welcoming.
And we never made it to trial. The felony was dismissed at the preliminary hearing and the DA offered to dismiss the misdemeanor while we were scheduling for trial. I credit this solely to Johns strategic decisions in scheduling our hearings and talking with the DA. Our family felt each move in our case was well calculated and that's when you know you're working with a great lawyer.
We can't thank the office of John Hamasaki enough for what they have given us, which is a new start. My father is 63 years old and with all the stress finally lifted, he can now focus on his well being which is a better quality of life to spend with loved ones. And that is something no words could express how grateful we are of John Hamasaki. Thank you John, truly.
