It is hard to overstate how positive my family’s two experiences with Atty. Asaf Sarno have been. If one were to sit down and describe the qualities of a great criminal defense attorney, you would describe Atty. Sarno.
In the first case, a close family member with substance use issues was already on probation for non-violent related offenses when he re-offended. His case was referred to Superior Court where he was indicted and faced up to 5 years in a state penitentiary. He even failed to appear for a hearing. Fortunately, Asaf was available to take the case. Asaf deftly took advantage of errors and weaknesses in the state’s case. He also researched the sentencing history for similar cases, including that of the assigned judge. He also employed a PI to obtain relevant info to bolster the case. Although the DA’s office refused to make an acceptable plea deal, Asaf was confident that the case would resolve acceptably. In the end, the accused received extended probation – far better than jail time.
At all times, Asaf remained positive and optimistic. With his client’s permission, he kept us family in the loop so that we could be appropriately supportive. (We also attended every court appearance which Asaf assured us was very helpful.)
Meanwhile, another case (i.e. a different non-violent offense while under the influence) had been simmering for 2 ½ years. The original defense lawyer had assumed it would settle quickly. However, the prosecution again would not agree to an acceptable plea deal. It was apparent that the case would go to trial. It felt like a lost cause. My family member decided to get a 2nd opinion from Atty. Sarno. He instantly greeted us with positive energy and enthusiasm even before we explained the reason for calling him. We agreed to pay his reasonable fee to review the case. No guarantees but based on Asaf’s thorough review he presented three distinct approaches to the defense. Based on this and the prior experience with Asaf, he was hired to take over the case.
Attorney Sarno worked hard on this case, appropriately hiring a PI and a forensic psychologist to bolster the defense. Importantly, Asaf ALWAYS returned calls and emails in a timely manner – typically within 24 hours, even when he was in court on another trial. Also with his guidance, we solicited letters of support from family members, former counselors, etc.. All this led to being as prepared as possible for the trial. Asaf made a vigorous defense, for which he was congratulated by the judge! In the end, my family member was given probation with some strict but reasonable conditions – much better than the what the state had previously insisted on. Now my family member has a reasonable shot at wellness because staying in a treatment program is now possible.
There are many factors that play into the outcome of a criminal trial – the strength of the evidence, the skill and determination of the prosecution, the judge assigned, the defendant’s history, and the degree of support by family and friends. But certainly, a HUGE factor is the SKILL, DETERMINATION, POSITIVE DEMEANOR, and WORK ETHIC of the defense counsel. Asaf brings all of those qualities to his work – to an EXCEPTIONALLY high degree! Moreover, Atty. Asaf Sarno’s enthusiasm for his profession and dedication to his clients are what make him a head-and-shoulders standout in the criminal defense bar.
I hope you never need the criminal defense skills of Attorney Asaf Sarno, but if you’re reading this there’s a good chance you do. My advice: HIRE HIM!

I have nothing but good things to say about Attorney Sarno. I was charged with multiple counts of possession of a large capacity firearm without a FID card, facing up to 10 years in prison on each count, and Attorney Sarno was able to negotiate a custodial sentence of only 15 months (after the prosecutor pushed the court for 2x that amount) and three years' probation. Through additional research and investigation, Attorney Sarno uncovered multiple instances of misconduct committed by the District Attorney's Office and local PD, resulting in my probation sentence being cut in half! Attorney Sarno went far above and beyond my expectations for a criminal defense attorney. I am grateful for his diligence, expertise, and relentless effort to get the best possible outcome for me. Kirk Harrington doesn’t know how to talk to people, the way he talks to you is in such a way that he is talking AT you or DOWN to you. He makes you feel like because he has a law degree that you are LESS THAN. I absolutely refuse to be spoken to like that by anyone. I have tried to be respectful to him, but just because this is the first time I have ever been in bankruptcy and know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT, he ALWAYS SAYS something in a way that is deeply hurtful.

My daughter and myself were in an accident with a truck. He slammed into and took off. Afterwards the truck company denied our injuries and claims. Mr. Snyder was referred to me by another attorney i respect. Mr Snyder was very firm and pushed the case all the way to litigation. My Wife and I lost a company back in 2010, not sue to us, but because a banker that singed our business loans was thrown in prison for embezzeling money. We both signed a personal guarantee for a lease for accounting software. Years later, the creditor pursued us heavily. They garnished wages, filed liens on our houses and threatened all kinds of other things. I hired an Attorney to negotiate a settlement prior to getting Glen involved and they failed. I was hesitant to hire another Attorney for the same thing and was contemplating bankruptcy. My Wife and I hire Glen, through a recommendation. We met with him one time and hired him shortly after. Glen worked with me the entire way and negotiated a very fair settlement agreement. We signed the agreement today and now I will be making payments. I feel he is unorganized because weeks I would go by and I wouldn’t hear anything. Finally I will send an email to inquire about my case then I was flooded with emails that were sent to him weeks ago. I finally fired him because he was taking my money. Maybe good at other law. Didnt see that with this criminal case. It was gonna a challenge but....$50,000 for taking the case and $27,000 for trial with just a 1/3 of the $27,000 returned after being convinced the Trial may not be the best route.
Chewing gum & rocking in his chair at sentencing. Barely spoke to the Judge, his assistant. Sam did his work for him.
( She needs her own practice, having her own legal firm would be successful.)
I don't understand the 4 stars either.
And yes....still got the 10yr sentence.
Hhhmmmm.
Don't believe all the hype. Do ur homework because you will be doing his work for him.
Don't sign anything his request without someone else reading it also. Clarity was a huge issue here.

While walking my dog in my neighborhood one Sunday morning, a dog launched himself through a screened window that had a hole in it.
The german shepherd grabbed my arm and mauled me severely while dragging me into the driveway next to the house. After emergency surgery to repair the damage from a compound fracture (including plates and screws) and a stay in the hospital, I began the search for an attorney to guide me through the legal process of addressing the incident.
Because of a previous auto accident when I was represented by Barry Lakritz, and because of the level of trust I had in him and his team, I reached out to his office to see if this would be something they could help me with. Once they saw the pictures of my arm prior to surgery, they immediately agreed to handle my grievance against the homeowner.
I understood how the process worked and that it might take some amount of time to gather evidence and process it through whatever necessary systems (i.e., insurance claim, court, etc). But, Lakritz Law took the time to keep in touch with me and explain exactly what was happening. They even came to the courthouse to view my personal petition regarding the disposition of the animal that attacked me (something they do not legally handle).
Lakritz Law worked quickly and professionally to address all my concerns. Their entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and responsive – with special gratitude to Erika for all her time and attention to the details. My mother accumulated a lot of credit card debt which I discovered upon helping her with finances and her health following a stroke. Due to her stroke, she was unaware of the gravity of this situation. Paying off her debts were increasingly becoming a huge burden to her financially as she also needed to be cared for at least 75% of the day. Upon researching and contacting local law firms handling bankruptcy cases, we discovered the Kurland Law Group. An initial contact from their office was quickly followed by an initial phone conference with one of their attorneys, to determine the type of bankruptcy my mother would qualify for. Following the phone conference, emails were sent to inform my mother and I the procedure, the contract, and paperwork requirements. 2 years ago I was hit by a car while on my bike. I'm an international student and had no idea what to do or how I was going to deal with all the medical insurance claims. I hired Scott and he was spectacular to work with. He went out of his way to reduce medical bills for me and explained in detail what each bill meant and what I should do. The advice he provided was spot on and as the driver was responsible, he helped me settle with the driver's insurance company. After getting a concussion from the accident and then being bombarded with letters and calls from the driver's insurance company, I doubt I would have had the same outcome without Scott's support and knowledge.

Scott was honest about the expectations for our case, and was willing to take it even though many other lawyers had given me an attitude and told me our case was too small to bother with. My partner and I are both professionals and work hard for what we do have. I was put off by many of the other lawyers who wanted to charge an arm and a leg and insult me at the same time. Scott was down to earth, friendly and yet still professional. He checked in with us often, clarifying our wishes and represented us well. Just having him represent us made the other party back down and we are hoping they stay down, but if for whatever reason we have to go to court I will want Scott representing us again.
