While going through a very nasty divorce (3 years and counting), my ex took control of my business and stopped paying all debt I co-signed for including community property debt. I was faced with the decision that nobody wants to make.... I had to file bankruptcy.
I met with numerous large, medium and small law firms. Most meetings were with either a sales person with little knowledge or a paralegal. Having done my own research, I quickly learned that each time I was given bad advise and pressured to "sign up before it's too late". I came across Brian via Avvo and scheduled a meeting. Expecting to meet with another sale person or paralegal, I was pleasantly surprised to meet with Brian himself. I kept him busy with question after question during a meeting that lasted almost an hour. He never rushed me or made me feel like I was wasting his time. In fact he kept asking if I had further questions for him. He seemed to like the rapid and numerous questions I kept throwing at him. He had answers to the questions nobody else did and knows bankruptcy law inside and out. Some other firms I met with told me I had to have my divorce finalized before I could file. However, Brian was the only one with the knowledge and expertise to get my Chapter 7 filed and discharged. My case was not a simple one as my ex attempted to block my discharge and I had numerous creditors due to my business and assets. However, Yuri and Brian got it discharged with no problem. Both Brian and Yuri are the only attorneys I would recommend. If you have a simple or complex bankruptcy, I would not recommend anyone other than Brian and Yuri. The entire law group couldn't have been better to deal with!
Don't waste your time like I did with bankruptcy "mills", sales people and paralegals. I simply can't say enough about how great Yuri and Brian are...... They will take good care of you!

Don is THE MAN! Ive never met a Lawyer that is as efficient, takes calls and emails day and night, (I don't think he sleeps or vacations, but LOVES his wiener dog! ha) and maps everything out as good and clear as Don did. His assistant Oliver was REALLY good at his job. Both very professional and classy, straight shooter, fair on price, and did everything he said he would do. Im hoping I never have to call him again for court matters, but if I do it will be Don. Great Guy and cares about his clients and work. I appreciate him. Side Not, If he ask for certain documents or assignments to be done, don't be lazy. Get it done and over to him so he can do his job. If you do that, and not wait until last minute, everyone will leave happy.

I spoke with several attorneys to discuss what my options were for filing bankruptcy with a specific focus on discharging my school loans. I was aware that school loans are extremely difficult to discharge if not impossible. I met with Joe twice and knew right away he was the one I should go with. With high hopes we began the process right away as time was of the essence in my case. He knew exactly what steps needed to be taken and in the most effective order in which the steps were to be completed. There were several components to my case as we were trying to discharge private and federal student loans along with the general bankruptcy discharge. He was also able to stop my garnishment right away. He gave me great advice during our initial meeting as well as throughout the process. His paralegal Melissa was also fantastic. If I couldn't get in touch with Joe, Melissa was always available to correspond with me. She is very knowledgeable and is great at what she does! When it was all said and done my general bankruptcy got approved without a hitch and then came word that my student loans were being dismissed. This was a huge burden that was drowning me for quite some time and the amount of stress weighing on me from these debts was immeasurable! Joe contacted me to discuss specifics before signing anything and a couple weeks later I got an official Order in the mail from the judge confirming that I owed nothing more on my student loans. Words cannot describe the relief I felt receiving that order. My case is now closed and I owe zero debt. I was able to keep ownership of my home and every penny of past debt has been discharged, including both private and federal student loans. I can't thank Joe enough for what he has given back to me. I highly recommend Joe Quinn and I'm so happy I chose him. Not many attorneys have experience with discharging school loans. He knew from our first meeting the steps that needed to be taken and what would be entailed. And in the end he was successful. Highly highly recommend!

We were looking for a lawyer that specialized in working with LGBTQ clients and learned about Ms. Thomas on the National Center for Transgender Equality website. Ms. Thomas was the only attorney listed in Upstate NY that specialized in representing clients with the legal process for name and gender change. I was harassed by Stillman Collection Agency for an erroneous Barclay’s debt in excess of $5,000.00. They had no justification for harassing me other than I had a similar name and birthdate. I hired Ms. Royal who took on these two large Companies and immediately issued a Cease-and-Desist Order and forced them to prove the debt. Ms. Royal determined that the debt belonged to another individual with a different SS number and lived in a State I never had residency.
These companies are unethical and ruthless and you need someone like Ms. Royal who knows their obligations under the law, as well as your rights and will take companies to task regardless how big they are and how they will try to bully you.
Ms. Royal forced them to correct their records and my credit was never in jeopardy. Every time I emailed for an update, her response was immediate and substantiative.
Ms. Royal is a passionate assertive advocate that gets results.

This Law Firm And The Attorney Faizon Stole Money From Me And Knowingly Paid Me The Wrong Amount of money. I never met not one Attorney while they handled my case. Faizon Told The Insurance Company That I needed to have surgery to get more money and I never received it. I Told This to Mr.Barton and He Said That I signed for the wrong Amount Anyway. The Address That is Given For Tis Firm is not Their address They Only Receive Mail There. I DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE CECK THAT INSURANCE SENT THEM AND IDID NOT SIGN IT. I went to Mr. Matthew's office to file bankruptcy. Not only did he help me through that difficulty, but when my ex tried to grab more money from my bankruptcy, he went above and beyond to correct what two family attorneys did not do in the past. Instead of the ex getting substantially more, I received a reduction in a monthly payment I make to the ex based on what was agreed to in family court. He didn't have to bring this up to me much less spend time to reduce the payment to the ex as well as the Ch 13 bankruptcy payment...but he did. He is an upstanding attorney and an all-around great guy. I'm sure he can help you too.

My husband and I recently filed with the aid of Mr. Schwartz and I could not have imagined this process going any smoother than it did. From the moment we made initial contact with the office and spoke with the secretary who was so nice and understanding, I knew we would be working with Mr.Shwartz. He was easy to get a consultation appointment with and very thorough in looking over all of our financial history. Once we actually filed, we worked with his paralegal Rose and you could probably not find a nicer paralegal in the whole city. She was very proactive in making sure everything in our file was complete, easy to get ahold of, responded quickly to emails and messages and very patient with all of our questions and concerns. Highly recommend Mr. Schwartz if you have to make the difficult decision to file chapter 7.
