Not only did Mr. Wilton initially provide an answer to my online question, he actually followed through with several very helpful responses. The following day, I called his office and spoke with his terrific assistant Dina, who facilitated a phone call between Mr. Wilton and myself. Not only did he take so much time over the phone to hear my issue, he actually called me back after having to take another call! He is certainly a knowledgeable, very qualified attorney who has the rare gift of empathy and humanity. He is definitely the one to call for help!

Seth was communicative and clear, he always made me feel comfortable with the progression of my case and "broke it down" so I didn't feel like any lawyer-ese was too dense. The most difficult part was waiting for dates to come due to COVID delays, but Seth and his team made it pretty painless. The deposition was much easier than I prepared myself for it to be (due in part to Seth's pre-depo explanation and info sharing). The final result was a great one, and I was very glad to have everything behind me. At no point did Seth lose sight of our goals, and he made me feel like I had a voice in my own case - not only that but going up against a global brand felt easy with him at my side. I would recommend Seth to anyone who needs assitance in this type of personal injury case.

Marisa is amazing! She is extremely intelligent and knows the law very very well. Besides being very intelligent, Marisa is very "human" and have compassion and understand the emotional distress and damage I went through with my unlawful termination case. She walked me through everything and didn't act like a cold attorney that only wanted money. She really cared about what happened and really made the stressful process much more bearable. Make no mistake, don't take her kindheartedness for weakness. Marisa was super TOUGH when it came to defending me and attacking the other side. I am so grateful that she was on my side of the table. Without her I really would not have proceeded with the case. It's stressful and Marisa understood that and really guided me well. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with everything. If you want someone that's kind and understanding to you, but really beat the other side mercilessly, then I really recommend Marisa! She's smart and without her, I really didn't know what I would have done. Job well done Marisa and THANK YOU so much for everything!

I hired an employment law firm and filed a lawsuit against a former employer for years of unpaid overtime. Marisa was the associate but became my primary contact. She was very knowledgeable about the law and always answered my emails promptly. She was there for my deposition and mediation. She was a lot of fun to be around. We had some good laughs and was a real person and not intimidating at all. She was patient and understanding especially as things drew to a close and I was a basket of nerves. Well, I won my suit and I'm sorry I won't get to see her anymore. She was an awesome attorney.

The last thing a business owner wants is to face problems with or even a lawsuit with employees. Because I have employees and hire outside contractors she was able to help me figure out the criteria need for each. Developing contracts that keep me out of trouble and making sure I know how to do it right with each person. I have sent employees with bad situations from previous employers to her and she can always give them a straight answer.

When Josh came onto my case, I was an emotional, scared client who had experienced a traumatic & complicated wrongful termination. Not only did he demonstrate an incredible understanding of the law & a tactical supremacy (on more than one occasion, he made the defense absolutely defenseless), he immediately put my mind at ease by explaining why it was important to fight this case. He has a perspective on justice that exceeds monetary compensation and that was something that made me feel really comfortable. Wrongful termination is a traumatic experience, and it was so refreshing to have someone in my corner who wasn't just fighting for a monetary outcome, but truly looking to make a difference in my life and preventing the same thing from happening to someone else. I would recommend Josh to anyone who finds themself in need of an employment lawyer!

Josh was referred to me by another attorney. Essentially my case revolved around a mid-2020 cancel culture event with my employer. This resulted in my wrongful termination along with Josh unpacking a number of other claims as we sifted through my almost four years of employment. My understanding was that the employer, over the years, had mistreated me. Josh knew the law and precedents that tied to the mistreatment. The list of claims was long. At its core, my case was about an employer that irrationally reacted to a troll site post on social media tied to a post from me. While the company had invited everyone to share ideas, because it declared it was open to receiving ideas, I posted a further sharing of conservative ideas. This did not suit the political views of the employer. Not only was I wrongfully terminated, but the employer also defamed me in the process. After almost a year of pre-trial litigation, Josh was able to secure a very good outcome that resulted in an excellent economic settlement and resolution of non-monetary issues. Josh cared about my non-monetary issues and not just the financial settlement. That meant a lot to me As a business executive for 25 years, I understood the unpredictable nature of litigation. Josh and the firm, at EVERY step of the way, navigated the case to its successful conclusion. Thank you, Josh, for everything!!

Mr. Lipinsky, demonstrated excellent analytical skills and experience in the area of law for my particular problem. I was impressed at how quickly he was able to logically process the facts, apply specific experience and relevant labor laws to my particular problem. Faced with the daunting task of having just days to file before the statute of limitations ran out, I was impressed with how quickly he was able to make reasonable judgments and assumptions about my case and file such a compelling complaint and other documents before the deadline. Mr. Lipinsky applied his excellent interpersonal skills to develop a trusting relationship. It’s very difficult to trust others to look out for you specifically when you are going through a battle surrounded by distrust. He understood and conveyed to me the strengths and weakness of my case and worked directly with me to achieve positive results. He involved me in the creation of a resolution without placing his opinions above mine. He patiently educated me through how the litigation process works. He sincerely owned my problem, and encouraged a belief that he would do everything possible to help me succeed. He was willing to learn about my expected goals and outcomes, explaining what he would do for me. During mediation Mr. Lipinsky’s skill as a negotiator was remarkable. Here he consistently demonstrated his ability to make wise decisions, take sensible risks and implement fair solutions when met with challenges. He conveyed wisdom and experience as he managed expectations selectively using leverage to help guide a resolution. Legal fees did not become a barrier to a settlement in my case. He delivered on his promise, I got a fair result, and most importantly I felt good about my outcome. Thank you Mr. Lipinski!

I was the victim of harassment at my place of work, based on my same sex relationship and my status as a gay male. I was taunted, called names, humiliated infront of co-workers by my supervisors and manager. When I told my H.R rep and district H.R they did nothing. The last straw was when my H.R and supervisor started telling the general workforce about my sexual status and if they've ever seen me in any lued acts. That's when I took legal acting against the company. Daren was recommend to me by a friend, so i looked him up and read his profile. I was looking for a lawyer who had experience in labor relations, sexual harassment and harassment based on sexual orientation and he fit the bill. From our first meeting, he made me feel comfortable discussing the full details of what was happening to me at work. He took notes and kept me composed during every meeting we had. He gave me realistic time frames for what was to come moving forward. Standing up to my harassers was not easy but Daren assured me that I was making things better for myself and others. Fast forward several months.... Litigation time. He prepared me about the environment we were about to enter. I was extremely nervous and excited at the same time. I wanted to tell the "Big Brown company" I have worked for and still do what they've done to me and how wrong they were to treat me and many others like me that way. So they had the TEAM of lawyers and the district H.R manger on one side and Daren and I on the other. Daren's words were sharp, clear and to the point. To make a long story short, we came to a very fare settlement. I did not loose any wages and still had my job which I've held for 17 yrs. In the end I left really good for what I've done and I owe it all to Daren, for taking my case, knowing the law and caring for peoples rights in today's society.

Lisa provided us with excellent legal representation and helped us win our case against a large public employer. We didn't have the cash on hand to retain her services, so she kindly allowed us to pay on a contingency basis, where we would only have to pay her in full once the case was won. Lisa always kept us updated and answered our questions in a very timely manner, and she was a strong and confident advocate. She took on 7 corporate big-shot lawyers and beat them hands down, so effectively that they settled out of court at our very first meeting! There was minimal time lost in putting together the case, and we got a much higher settlement than we had expected. We would highly recommend Lisa to anyone with a valid case to lodge against a large and seemingly impervious company or public entity. Lisa cuts the giants down to size and protects the little guy!

I honestly don't know how to thank Ed and his firm for all of their help and support. Nothing I write here will do justice to the quality and sincerity of Ed’s and his team’s work. First of all, Ed is extremely knowledgeable, highly strategic, and has all of the top qualities that you look for in an effective lawyer. He smoothly and quickly settled my case with my former employer via a law that no other lawyer that I consulted with even thought of. Also, he helped me avoid the potentially embarrassing experience of litigation, yet still secured a very substantial settlement for me. The outcome he produced was above and beyond my highest expectations. However, monetary recovery was not the most valuable outcome that I received from working with Ed. The greatest benefit that I gained from this experience was the strong sense of self-empowerment that Ed instilled in me, and, to me, as a woman, this is priceless. Ed and his firm gave me the support, motivation and courage to stand up for myself and to do what was right for me. What I admire most about Ed is his empathy and his unique ability to fully and completely comprehend the positioning and experiences of women in the workplace. When I first walked into Ed's office, I felt an instant rapport with him. Ed patiently listened to me and was completely present and focused while I told him my story. He listened without judgment and offered sincere counsel. After our first meeting, I instinctively knew Ed had my best interest at heart, and I could fully trust him. I was in good hands. Ed helped me to obtain justice not only monetarily, and not only morally. He helped me to obtain justice in its complete sense, and for me, as a woman, that’s extremely important. I have unwavering faith in Ed and his firm's commitment to helping women in the workforce. If you feel that you have been wronged by your former employer, I highly recommend that you hire Ed and his firm, especially if you're a woman. He will not only get you a settlement that is most likely beyond what you expect, but he will do so ethically, morally, efficiently, and you may even gain a sense of self-empowerment that you never knew was possible.

I was referred to Ed by my employment lawyer when it was clear that the only way there was going to be a resolution to my dispute with my employer was if I hired a litigator. We spoke on the phone and I immediately liked Ed. He is articulate, highly experienced, strategic and compassionate. Ed is also fair. He has his own practice, which is something I prefer in a lawyer. I found him to be reasonably priced (or, as reasonably priced as a lawyer can be!). One of the things I valued in Ed is his understanding of both the employee and the company's side of any situation, as he's spent considerable time as a defense lawyer. I liked that he could get into the other side's brain. I found Ed to be super responsive and very professional. He did a great job of keeping me abreast of his communication with my former employer's lawyer and, though I know he has so many other high-priority cases, I felt that I was given just as much attention and care. Our case moved to mediation and I was even more impressed with Ed, being able to see him in action. His ability to build rapport is admirable and, I believe, important. He clearly has an excellent reputation in the legal world and amongst some of the most renowned mediators. During mediation, he guided me, gave me perspective, but didn't force me to make any decisions I wasn't comfortable with and I am deeply appreciative of this skill of his. Throughout everything, I always felt that Ed was putting my best interests ahead of his own. We ended up settling and I am pleased with the outcome, an outcome that I know is in great deal because of the excellent work Ed did on my behalf.

Louis Michelsen was really rude during my call with him in regards to searching for a case. Every possibility I suggested, reapplying for a second SSI Case, further research, and carrying out the first SSI Case, he scolded me, calling me a "Loser," and said it was 99.5% of chance of losing at every possibility. He blasphemed during the phone call, and made my hopes of getting Legal Aid for my Disability a lot worse. To the Establishment, everyone else was not rude, and acted professional. However, unless this place terminates Luis Michelsen, more People are going to turn away from this Establishment in disgust. Never again am I going to turn to this place.

I can't thank Alana and Tom for their exceptional work in settling my case. Alana is knowledgeable, professional, personable, and in my opinion, deserves a raise. They're both great communicators and waste no time. I'm very thankful that my son, Matt Whiddon, recommended Tom and Pajcic & Pajcic. Job well done. I will not hesitate to refer others to your firm. Thank you.

I contacted many lawyers for help to obtain my final payment from a previous employer. After waiting a few days without a response, I came across Stevens & Legal and their many good reviews. I appreciated that Robert called me within an hour of my inquiry and that he was very straightforward with myoptions. The case took time, but it was well worth the five-figure settlement Robert negotiated. Robert was friendly, professional, and well-versed in OR employment law. I hope I won't be in this situation again, but I know that Stevens & Legal is only a call or email away if I am. Thanks again, Robert!

I have never had to use an attorney prior. I am in southern Oregon and was unable to find an attorney that would take my case so I started venturing out of town and up north. Stevens and Legal had no hesitation in taking on my case. Yes it was a long process but it eventually paid off and if I didn't reach out, I would be in the same boat just without receiving any back wages. I dealt with Robert Wilson. He was informative and prompt to respond and kept me updated through the entire process. If I ever find myself in a similar situation, I won't even speak to any adjuster without first retaining these individuals. Thanks again Robert.

Laura Mattiacci, Console Mattiacci Law, participated in my in my lawsuit during the trial preparation phase of my case in age discrimination and retaliation case against my former employer. Along with the my attorney, Rahul Munshi, she served as trial attorney in federal court in a jury trial, which ended with a verdict in my favor. Honestly, I was deceived by her sweet and gentle manner, with which I was familiar that was outside of the court room. The court room persona, which she embodied at the trial took me by surprise and I was counting my lucky stars for not having to be cross-examined by a skillful, knowledgeable and assertive litigator. Rahul Munshi was my attorney in the preliminary phase, the discovery period and the court trial, a four plus years process which ended in my favor. I highly recommend Laura, Rahul and Stephen, as one of the plaintiffs represented by Console Mattiacci Law because I got the support of the firm on "Team Ruth."

I hired Console Law to represent me in a C.E.P.A. claim. Laura Mattiacci was a part of the team that represented me in court and she did a fantastic job. The trial took place over five days and Ms. Mattiacci was the lead litigator. During this process and the trial period she remained professional, engaged and very supportive of me as her client. My case is in appeal and Console Law is representing that matter as well. I would highly recommend Mrs. Mattiacci and the Console Law team.

After I was wrongfully accused in a noise violation case Laura not only defended me she researched the illegality of the "animal house" law perpetuated by SIC police and other resort areas throughout the country! She was prepared to present her case (a guaranteed W) in NJ Supreme Court. Her legal dynamic was so feared the prosecuting attorney withdrew his charge prior to higher court and I was exonerated.

I hired Wilmer and his team to handle my employment case and we were able to push for a settlement 2 years after the first complaint filed. I was rejected by many many other attorneys at first since my profession is hard to understand by straight forward illustrations. Many other attorneys told me my case will be hard to be comprehended by jury if we go to trial. I went with another 5 star attorney at first and he dropped me after 1 st complaint filed. Wilmer was the 1st attorney who told me he would take my case. After the other attorney dropped me, I went back and asked Wilmer if he would accept me, Wilmer accepted me and he cured the mess ever since. Not only he was experienced and empathetic, he was very smart and learned about my case in a professional way. Even though my final settlement was slightly short compared to my target, I still strongly recommend Wilmer. He was truly kind and truly a fighter against hidden discrimination. I was impressed by his first depo against the defendant, which made the defendant a stupid liar, in a very professional way. I truly appreciate his help. I strongly recommend him as a past client by all my heart

Before Stan, I had searched or talked to other lawyers and these lawyers kinda talked down to me and made me feel like my case was pointless without hearing my statement. They just assumed. When I came across Stan, he responded immediately and sat and listened to my every word. Made me feel like I was truly valued and that my case wasent something "pointless". He put real effort in my case and kept me updated when need be. And when I needed an answer, he gave it to me straight forward but not harsh where he's talking down to you. Long story short, I won my case because of my lawyer.

At times I would get frustrated (though not at Robert, also being pregnant didn’t help) because there was so much information that needed to be shared and discussed but unfortunately that’s just the process. Robert made that process that much more easier, he was compassionate and caring and never pushy or rude. Robby Robinson is a very capable, stand-up attorney. He represented me in a long, contentious employee arbitration suit, in which we prevailed. He was thorough, diligent in his research, patient, calm in his demeanor but steadfast in his determination to win the case. His very fair, straightforward and low-key style earned him credibility with the arbitration judge as well as even his adversaries. These cases can be emotional for the claimant, and Robby maintained a positive, confident, professional and calming approach throughout the process. He took the time to make sure that I understood what to expect up front, and explained all the proceedings as we went along. He maintains a lean, but capable team and held up extremely well even when faced with a much larger firm on the other side who always showed up with a few more lawyers than we did. I would not hesitate to recommend Robby Robinson to others seeking representation in employee litigation.

I was so beaten down and depressed from the complex wrongful termination from my work, that it was difficult for me to explain to James what happened to me. But I knew strongly in my heart that it was wrong the way that I was treated by my place of work. So with James kindness and patience, experience, and being knowledgeable and an expert in his field, I felt like I could relax, and that I was safe and protected because I was in good hands, and I could trust him explicitly. My case was very complex and James and his Team were experts with gathering and organizing my information. James explained things clearly to me and I was well prepared for my depositions. He was always available. In his depositions of the defendants, he was able to uncover the discriminating information that helped us favorably. It was awesome and reassuring to see how well respected James is in his field. Seeing how well respected he is helped me realize I had definitely made the right choice. But it is just one of the ways. James is so smart and perceptive and is really the Best at what he does!! I will forever be grateful to James for his caring and expert work. Both were extremely honest, open, caring, helpful, knowledgeable and hard working. When they did not have a good answer they communicated that and did the research to find it. What a Discrimination Lawyer Can Do for You

A discrimination lawyer specializes in handling cases where individuals or groups face unfair treatment based on protected characteristics, such as race, gender, age, religion, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation. These lawyers assist clients in filing discrimination claims, representing them in legal proceedings, and ensuring that their rights under federal, state, and local laws are upheld. Discrimination cases may arise in employment, housing, education, public accommodations, or other settings.

Whether you’ve been discriminated against at work, denied housing, or treated unfairly in other areas of life, a discrimination lawyer can help you navigate the legal process and seek compensation or corrective action.

When Should I Hire a Discrimination Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a discrimination lawyer in several situations where unfair treatment occurs based on protected characteristics. Common scenarios include:

  • Employment Discrimination:
    • Workplace discrimination: If you’ve been treated unfairly at work because of your race, gender, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or another protected status, a lawyer can help you file a claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or a similar state agency.
    • Wrongful termination: If you were fired due to discrimination or retaliation for reporting discriminatory behavior, a lawyer can assist with filing a lawsuit and seeking compensation for lost wages, emotional distress, and other damages.
    • Failure to promote: If you’ve been denied a promotion or opportunities due to discriminatory practices, a lawyer can investigate the claim and represent you in legal actions against your employer.
    • Harassment: If you’ve experienced workplace harassment, such as sexual harassment or a hostile work environment based on your race, gender, or other characteristics, a lawyer can help you pursue legal remedies.
  • Housing Discrimination:
    • Denial of housing: If you’ve been denied housing due to your race, disability, family status, or other protected factors, a lawyer can help you file a complaint with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or sue the landlord or property manager for violating the Fair Housing Act.
    • Unfair rental practices: If a landlord or property manager treats you unfairly based on discriminatory factors (e.g., refusing reasonable accommodations for a disability), a lawyer can help you enforce your rights.
  • Education Discrimination:
    • Discrimination in schools: If you or your child has faced discrimination in an educational setting based on race, disability, gender, or religion, a lawyer can help you file complaints under laws like Title VI, Title IX, or the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Public Accommodations:
    • Denial of services: If a business or public service has discriminated against you based on race, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics, a lawyer can assist you in filing a complaint or lawsuit under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or other anti-discrimination laws.

Hiring a discrimination lawyer early can help protect your rights and ensure that your claim is filed within legal deadlines.

What Does a Discrimination Lawyer Do?

A discrimination lawyer provides a range of legal services to help individuals and groups fight against discriminatory practices. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Filing discrimination claims: A lawyer can help you file a complaint with government agencies, such as the EEOC, HUD, or your state’s human rights commission. They ensure that your claim is properly documented and filed within required time limits.
  • Investigating discrimination claims: Discrimination lawyers gather evidence, interview witnesses, and review documents to build a strong case for proving discriminatory practices.
  • Negotiating settlements: In many cases, a lawyer can negotiate a settlement with the employer, landlord, or other party involved in the discrimination case, seeking compensation or corrective action without going to trial.
  • Representing clients in court: If your case goes to court, a lawyer will represent you during hearings, present evidence, and argue your case before a judge or jury.
  • Handling retaliation claims: If you face retaliation for filing a discrimination complaint or reporting discriminatory practices, a lawyer can help you pursue a retaliation claim.
  • Advising on legal rights: A discrimination lawyer explains your legal rights under federal and state anti-discrimination laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the ADA, the Fair Housing Act, and others.

How Are Discrimination Lawyers Paid?

Discrimination lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the expected duration of the legal process. Common payment structures include:

  • Contingency fee: Many discrimination lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case. Their fee is usually a percentage of the settlement or court award, typically ranging from 25% to 40%.
  • Hourly rate: For cases that don’t involve a contingency fee arrangement, some lawyers charge by the hour. Hourly rates for discrimination lawyers generally range from $200 to $600 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and the case’s complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler legal tasks, such as drafting a discrimination complaint or providing legal advice, some lawyers may charge a flat fee.
  • Pro bono or reduced fees: Some discrimination lawyers offer pro bono (free) or reduced-fee services, especially in cases involving low-income clients or significant civil rights issues.

It’s important to discuss fee arrangements during your initial consultation to ensure that you understand the total cost of legal services and how payment will be handled.

How Much Does a Discrimination Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a discrimination lawyer depends on factors like the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the potential for a settlement or trial. General cost estimates include:

  • Contingency fees: If the lawyer works on a contingency basis, their fee will typically range from 25% to 40% of any settlement or court award. For example, if you win a settlement of $50,000 and the lawyer’s fee is 30%, they would receive $15,000, and you would keep the remaining $35,000.
  • Hourly rates: Discrimination lawyers who charge by the hour typically bill between $200 and $600 per hour. For example, a case that takes 20 hours of legal work at $300 per hour would cost $6,000 in legal fees.
  • Flat fees: Some legal services, such as filing a discrimination complaint or providing a legal consultation, may be available for a flat fee ranging from $500 to $2,500, depending on the complexity of the task.
  • Pro bono or sliding scale fees: In some cases, particularly for low-income individuals, lawyers may offer reduced fees or work pro bono.

Always ask for a detailed estimate of costs during your consultation, and clarify whether the lawyer offers flexible payment options.

Top Questions to Ask a Discrimination Lawyer

Before hiring a discrimination lawyer, it’s important to ask key questions to ensure they have the experience and qualifications to handle your case. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with discrimination cases?
Ensure that the lawyer has handled discrimination cases similar to yours, whether it involves employment, housing, or public accommodation discrimination.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee, hourly rate, or flat fee, and ask for a detailed breakdown of costs.
  3. What are my chances of success?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of your case, including potential challenges and the likelihood of success.
  4. How long will the process take?
Discrimination cases can take time to resolve, so ask the lawyer how long they expect the process to take, from filing a complaint to reaching a settlement or going to trial.
  5. Will I need to go to court?
Ask whether your case is likely to settle out of court or if a trial may be necessary. If a trial is possible, ask what steps the lawyer will take to prepare.
  6. What damages or remedies can I seek?
Ask about the types of compensation or corrective action you can pursue, such as back pay, emotional distress damages, job reinstatement, or policy changes.
  7. What steps should I take to protect my rights?
Ask for advice on how to document evidence, handle workplace or housing interactions, and avoid retaliation while your case is pending.

How to Check the Credibility of a Discrimination Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable discrimination lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Check their bar status: Verify that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and in good standing with the state bar association. You can check this on your state bar’s website.
  • Look for discrimination case experience: Review the lawyer’s website or profile to ensure they specialize in employment law, civil rights, or discrimination cases and have successfully handled similar cases in the past.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about their experience with the lawyer.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have worked with them on discrimination matters.
  • Check for certifications or memberships: Look for certifications or memberships in civil rights organizations or employment law associations, such as the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a discrimination lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed account of the discrimination: Provide a clear description of the discriminatory actions, including dates, locations, and individuals involved. Document specific incidents and any witnesses who can support your claim.
  • Workplace or housing records: Bring copies of relevant employment or housing documents, such as job performance evaluations, rental agreements, emails, or written correspondence related to the discrimination.
  • Company or organization policies: If the discrimination occurred in the workplace or housing, bring copies of company policies, employee handbooks, or housing agreements that outline anti-discrimination policies.
  • Evidence of damages: Provide evidence of any financial losses, such as lost wages, job termination, or increased rent, as well as emotional or psychological distress caused by the discrimination.
  • Previous complaints or actions: If you’ve filed previous complaints or taken any action related to the discrimination, such as reporting the issue to HR or filing a complaint with a government agency, bring copies of those documents.
  • Questions about the process: Prepare a list of questions about your legal options, potential outcomes, and the lawyer’s approach to handling your case.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer assess your situation more effectively and provide the best possible legal advice for pursuing your discrimination claim.
