Katherine Burnstein came highly recommended by another lawyer I've known for years, and worked for nearly 18 months on my divorce and custody case. Katherine possesses a perfect balance of compassion, empathy, and occasional brutal honesty when necessary.
Her years of experience and her clear love of ongoing learning were invaluable in helping me navigate a complex situation that I knew little about. She had the patience and willingness to listen and help me figure out what I wanted and needed, without ever pushing me toward her own conclusions. When the need arose for specialists outside of the field of law to assist with the case, I was very impressed with the experts she brought it.
Katherine showed keen attention to detail, catching little details in the settlement proposals that were either errors or ambiguities. In the end, I benefitted from her ability to catch these details that others might have missed.
Katherine seems to have good working relationships with other family lawyers in town and is respectful, professional, and friendly when communicating with them. When she needs to, however, she has a fierce strength and voice that gets what needs to be done, done.
Going through a divorce is an agonizing experience, and it meant the world to me to have someone like Katherine fighting in my corner and walking with me through that difficult time. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Kathryn is personable, knowledgeable, articulate, thorough, and patient. From day one, I knew that she was going to be a source of comfort during the most trying time of my life. As someone who has never been involved in any sort of court procedure, I felt at ease because she is the best communicator, explaining the process, my rights and what a realistic outcome would look like. Kathryn handled my divorce. She was absolutely intent on making sure I got the very best settlement and on ensuring I understood the repercussions of my decisions during the process. She was direct, especially when she believed I was making decisions against my best interests.
She was also flexible when my now-ex-spouse and I were making unusual requests.
Kathryn was easy to reach when I had questions.
She was supportive, which I very much appreciated.

I chose Phyllis Bookspan to help me through my divorce because I wanted a barracuda with a heart. When I looked at her background, I was impressed with her credentials (Georgetown Law-I knew she would be intelligent and hard-working) but also knew she would be the right lawyer for me because of her background in Yoga and Mindfulness. I walked into her office looking for a collaborative divorce, but when she heard my history she put down her notes and clearly told me exactly why that would be the wrong decision. She will tell you the truth, be empathetic but professional, and listen to your feedback as you go through the process. Gordon was my 3rd consultation, so how different he is, stood out immediately, and I knew right away that I found just what I needed. He is compassionate, passionate about his clients well being, incredibly fair, always there when needed, and a great sense of humor, when direly needed. My divorce dragged out for 4 yrs, from my spouses end, with him going through 4 attorneys, so I got to know Gordon very well. His years of experience was very helpful in that matter in knowing all attorneys we were dealing with . Gordon Brown is a one in a million, you could not ask for a better lawyer to fight for your child/children. He puts his heart in his work and once you meet him there is no questioning that. He makes you feel comfortable in the court room and really fights for what he believes is the best interest for the child. He is a genuine person which is truly rare in most lawyers. In my last court date my lawyer fought for more time for me . My original outline was just weekends during the day supervised of course . He helped push for dinners during the week which to me I thought was awesome to have more time . My fiance is going through bad child custody/ support case with his ex, and I was scared cause judge was going for mom and child support went up, so I called almost all attorneys in our county and no one would work with us - we don't have thousands of $ to give a lawyer... but she could hear how scared I was and she is working with us. Ms. Lauser is a wonderful attorney. She is an attorney who is devoted and loves what she does. I truly respect her for the work and devotion that she puts into each of her clients and cases. I have seen her at work she is constantly fighting for what is right. When she believes in her case she will fight for you until the end. She is handling my juvenile case at this moment and is doing an outstanding job. As far as if Ms. Lauser loves the Lord on some of these reviews they say she is a hypocrite I say this to them "You without sin cast the first stone" we all have our dirty little sins and we are not perfect but I can say that Ms. Lauser does love the Lord with all her heart and she may have her faults at times but she is a very God fearing women and an excellent attorney. I was recommended Pamela by another mother going through custody and CPS false reporting. After the interview with Attorney Pamela. She reviewed my case with a short noticed that trial would be in 30 days. I felt confident and quickly hired Attorney Pamela. I felt very confident that I called Attorney Pamela one a week, I had no worries that my case was in good hands. I had two days of trail, well-organized, a list of witnesses - Yes! Pamela had to move fast on my case. Two days and Pamela was great in asking all the right questions, reviewed all documents and on time. An honest, hard working, well prepared to a last minute trial. I was given custody in a small increment but at the mediation meeting two weeks after the trail. The other party decided/willingly to share 50 - 50 joint custody.

There are lawyers, then they’re heroes. Nicholas Exarhakis is more than an attorney, he’s a warrior. I discovered Nick on a google search as I desperately scrambled to find an attorney after my previous attorney dropped the ball on my case. My case was complex and far from an easy litigation or legal maneuver. Since the very first consultation I understood immediately that Nick was not the type of attorney that will give me false hope or give me unreal expectations for my case. He was REAL and HONEST. I am a man who wanted custody of my daughter from a mother who had custody since birth (6 years). Without getting into the details of the case, Nick fought relentlessly to have me granted primary custody. The battle was fierce with many motions, hearings appeals and so on, but Nick showed up prepared, armed with facts, evidence, discovery findings, effective cross examination questions and more. He went above and beyond to say the least. No doubt, his time is not cheap, but it was money well spent as I am now the primary custodian of my daughter after 6 years of being alienated from her. NO OTHER ATTORNEY WAS ABLE TO DO WHAT NICK DID. He’s in a different class. I thought I would have to wait weeks to hear back, but to my surprise Mr. Exarhakis called me within hours. I want to thank God that we found Cindi ! When things look grim and hopeless for my daughter and children I believe we were guided to Cindi. The previous lawyer my daughter had was useless and kept telling her she had to keep going back into a home that was dangerous for her and our grandchildren because of domestic violence.

Cindi is a true advocate for her clients. She was contacted during a time of despair and even though she was skeptical at first of our concerns….she listened to us and sat down to go over our case. We had previously had a well known attorney out of Jacksonville. Unfortunately, he did not take the time to listen to us nor fight for what we knew could not be afforded. Cindi ended up locating the egregious mathematical errors that had resulted in the judge awarding the other party an outrageous monthly alimony payment (an alimony payment that was unable to be made due to other bills and obligations). She fought for what could be afforded…..which was no alimony….and she delivered! It’s been an extended, prolonged battle but in the end the outcome is much better than we could have ever anticipated!! Cindi is incredibly knowledgeable about the law and sets realistic expectations for what the judge is likely to award. She does not make empty promises. Her prices are also incredibly reasonable and if I’m being honest, she should raise her fees. Cindi’s rates are fair and she remains conscientious of her client’s budget (unlike many other attorneys out there who will bill you for every little thing and take unnecessary and unproductive steps just in order to create billable hours). Hannah was phenomenal to work with. I started by trying to navigate the divorce process on my own but became overwhelmed. I found Hannah in a neighborhood Facebook group and decided to book a consultation. Having done one consultation already with another well known Chicago firm, I was super hesitant. Unlike other firms, she did not make me fill out a 10 page questionnaire prior to getting on a call and was actually honest and gave advice during our one hour call. She didn’t push me to get off the phone within a time limit. She was present and made sure I was comfortable and my questions were answered. Throughout the divorce process I could not have asked for a better attorney to partner with. While my divorce was relatively “easy” she was on top of it! Every email was answered in way less than 24 hours (usually within 1) and her follow up was impeccable. She always had a plan and always told me what to expect next. I cannot recommend Hannah enough.

It has taken me some time to figure out what to write in regards to Mr Spear because no matter what I say its going to be an understatement of how amazing of an attorney he is. He joined my very difficult and dragged out dissolution case later on but picked up on the essence of the case, the issues and both parties strategies immediately and he started moving all matters forward. I'll be honest Family Law is messy and emotional and I feel so blessed to have been referred to Marc Mitzner and his team. They helped me with a complex Domestic Violence, Custody and Divorce Case. From the moment I came into his office everyone was extremely accommodating, professional and very conscientious of the intense emotional state I was in. They executed everything as they promised and in the time frame they said they would. I was constantly updated of my case status. I never had to follow up and ask for any paperwork as it was always emailed to me immediately. When I went to court with Marc and Christina it was easy to see that their reputations were well respected in the court room and with the judge. There is so much emotion involved in Family Law and during this crisis I was not thinking as clearly as I normally am, I couldn't have been in better hands during this experience. I never felt like I didn't ask enough questions or that I was rushed and if I did have a question they were always very timely to get back to me. Lisa is by far the best attorney I have worked with. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the law, competent, hard-working, determined, reasonably priced and genuinely cares about you and your case. I had an interstate case that was rather complex. After speaking with Lisa, I knew she was the best attorney for the job. I had called about 7 other attorneys and they were all confused about how to go about my case and they were hesitant as to my next step. Not Lisa! Lisa knew exactly what to do! She was an angel. She is also one of the hardest working attorneys I have ever encountered. At no time did I ever feel in the dark about what was going on.
