My Life Includes some horrible decisions, like drunk driving, but one choice I’ll never regret was hiring Jonathan Jones to guide me through the Legal System! Facing a 3rd DUI, I was a wreck, scared of everything I was up against, until I met Jonathan. Not only did he provide some calm , I actually really liked the guy!! One doesn’t get into this position without being a full blown alcoholic, he knew it , got me on the road to sobriety right away, and encouraged me to use this situation as a bridge to the rest of my life. He’s totally experienced, knows his way around the courts and provides no nonsense answers to the countless questions I had. While in court appearances, I would compare him to other lawyers and was proud he was mine! His staff is a reflection of him, caring, helpful, especially Carolyn, who walked me through a Zoom court appearance, again putting my mind at ease! If your roaming around the internet for a criminal attorney, you know you your up against it!!! Mr. Stein along with his paralegal Ms. D are excellent. Both are diligent, very empathetic, and go above and beyond to thoroughly prepare. After years of wasting time and money, I finally found a law office I can count on to represent me in my seemingly never ending family matter. It’s a good feelingto know that individuals as knowledgeable as the aforementioned actually have your back and are confident in speaking up for you. Especially, in the moments where you are extremely anxious and just want to get things over with. Contacted a couple criminal attorneys a when I got charged for a dui, there explanations and fees were so scary and intimidating but when I reached out to Scott Anderson he made it so easy from the go with his explanations, availability ,fee and calmness. Yes I haven’t been in many troubles but I can boldly say Scott Anderson is the best in this game as he helped me knocked down the charge to a careless driving even before the court date. My son is a law student at U. of Miami. He is still on my auto insurance policy because he is in school. While stopped in front of a police car at a redlight in Miami, the officer used a scanner to randomly check my son's license plate. The state system erroneously indicated that he was an uninsured driver and was driving with a suspended license, which nothing could be farther than the truth.
Because the charges were for a misdemeanor crime, the officer could have arrested my son right then and there, but believed him when he assured the officer he was fully insured.
I, myself, am a lawyer and understand that a matter like this, if not handled properly, could delay or inhibit my son being admitted to the Florida Bar. I was panicked!
Attorney Michael Haber, my friend from law school, "saved the day." He easily and quickly analyzed the situation, and diligently and precisely performed everything he represented my son for and got all of the charges TOTALLY DISMISSED. He accomplished this through both his knowledge of criminal and traffic laws. In fact, he disposed the case against my son without my son even having to appear in court.
Attorney Haber understood just how serious this was to me for my son. He told me exactly what to expect and was 100% "on the ball" getting from me the evidence he needed to win. He filed the appropriate paperwork with the court, attended the arraignment (again without my son) and got all of the charges thrown out exactly the way he told me it would turn out.
Attorney Haber was my first choice to help my son. We both have son's the same age and he assured me he would treat this as if it was his son. What a relief!
Attorney Haber is probably one of the brightest, sharpest other students I met in law school. And, now, HE IS A LAWYER's LAWYER"!
Don't hire anyone else or you may very well come out withe the "short end of the stick.."

I was lucky for being referred to Mr. Haber from the beginning of my defense. The first time we met, it was all about trust, especially in those dark moments of life, when I did not clearly know what was happening to me and how I could get back to normal life. Mr. Haber truly explained things with confidence and at my level of understanding. “Sometimes it’s just like being in a rip current without the need to swim against waves” he well said with a confidence in his plans for defense while I was very worried and stressed at first. Soon I realized my case was in good hands when Mr. Haber was working on it. His reassurance despite the uphill battle was huge and his connection in any steps was a relief. Mr. Haber is approachable and professional. Now by describing the post dismissed case status as a glorious moment, I know a reliable, knowledgeable, and compassionate, professional lawyer, and just like how a patient cured from cancer goes back to their doctor, I go back to him if needed. There are no worries though unless and until the cancer comes back. And even then, Mr. Haber is determined to have solutions for success. As always, he does not leave his clients alone in these stressful moments of life.
The best way I can describe a case of a wrongful accusation, being dismissed at hearing is like how a patient that has suffered from cancer and uncertainties around cure and treatments receives the brilliant news of a complete remission. It’s like that moment of life when doctors hear: “You mean I’m cured of an evil cancer? It’s gone?” This is a feeling you cannot easily describe due to being overwhelmed with happiness pursued by fear. The happiness for the success to prove innocence in a position of defense when in reality, I was the victim of a manipulative person. The pursuant fear is like a potential relapse in the mind of a patient that has just recovered from cancer after some inevitably damaging and curing chemotherapy. The fear of continuous harm and reputation damage by this person could be very devastating.
We sometimes compare doctors to angels when recovered from a serious illness. But I think lawyers like Mr. Haber who go above and beyond are incomparable to angel or doctors because they can even save doctors when no other doctor can do so.
Bottom line, In the darkness and despair when you may wish time would go back, it may be enough for a client to pursue the lights shed on their case by a great lawyer as Mr. Haber, which is the key to go back to a normal life.

I was injured in an auIto accident and felt ignored by the insurance of the other party. I looked for a local law group instead of large group. The personal touch I immediately felt cannot be emphasized enough. Coupled with the obvious professionalism made this difficult experience much less stressful and I could focus on my recovery.
I was in frequent contact via phone with my attorney and staff. Checked on weekly for my health and recovery. It was a complicated medical situation but they pushed through. In the End, My medical bills were covered, my therapy was covered and I received a total of $75,000 and the attorney fees were very fair and reasonable and upfront. I cannot thank them enough. I needed help with some answers. Already being represented by a Public Defender with a plea already under way I didn’t think some things were fair. Andrew explained everything to me with such professionalism, knowledge and extremely caring and honest. In the end Andrew told me that he couldn’t get me a better plea deal and told me to save my money and stay with the Public Defender. I was so impressed by his honesty. As a business professional, I have required legal services for countless situations over my lifetime. Mostly for normal business dealings, though a few were more adversarial in nature. In either case, selecting the best attorney for the situation is obviously important. When our family was faced with a situation involving a family member being falsely accused, I found myself out of my element as family law was an area I had never needed to explore. I did know however, not having the best attorney in this particular case would mean a devastating outcome and a tarnished record that would haunt us for a very long time.
My vast and extensive research brought our family to Usow Law and thank goodness it did. Simply put, Jody Usow is an extraordinary attorney in every way. From the beginning, she was great at managing the expectations, the process and our family. Even though our emotions and frustrations would sometimes run wild due to the unjust accusations, Jody always managed to recenter us and focus on the law and her plan to succeed.

Watching Jody in the courtroom was a sight to behold. Measured and mild-mannered up until the petitioner's testimony became clearly disingenuous, and the lion was unleashed. In this day and age when we have so little accountability, it was thrilling to watch a dishonest person eviscerated on the witness stand during cross-examination due to their lack of integrity and vengeful actions. Needless to say, Jody was so compelling in the courtroom that the case was dismissed without her client (our side) ever needing to testify. Jody brought this 4-month nightmare our family was living, to an end!

I initially hired Jody to assist with a temporary restraining order case I was facing where my child’s mother over exaggerated an argument and lied to police to get the TRO. Jody stepped in last minute literally the day before, heard my story, met me at court and represented me for the hearing. The TRO was granted but Jody being the realist she is, let me know going into the hearing that it would likely be granted and why. Even then I appreciated her honesty and willingness to represent me on such short notice. After the TRO hearing my child’s mother decided she did not want me to see him so I continued to work with Jody with the goal of getting 50/50 custody and placement. Jody has proven to be a beast in the court room at every hearing we’ve had. She is very professional, down to earth, respected by the court and she knows her stuff! Her assistant Nick is just as awesome! We all worked together to accomplish the end goal and they were both very professional, nonjudgmental, and willing to educate me every step of the way. Nick even took the time to call and find out officers were in office, and ride his bicycle to the district to serve them for a court hearing the next day because they had not been able to be reached or served. I enjoyed working with Jody and her staff especially with this all being new to me, she would always answer my very long emails or phone calls in a timely manner, she worked with my family members/friends who were helping me with testifying or confirming information, and she understood how important it was to me to be apart of my sons life and have him be apart of my family and his siblings lives. She took time to educate me on what was happening throughout the entire custody battle and was patient with me when I did not do my part in a timely manner. At the end of my case, I got everything I wanted 50/50 placement and custody, even with the mother having representation and even with the TRO in place- which was a blessing in disguise because Jody fought for the mother and I to have court ordered communication through Our Family wizard where everything is documented for lawyers or the court to be able to access with no way for parents to delete information. Jody has been a huge blessing to me and my family and was worth every penny! Even after my case closed she followed up, gave me great advice and encouraged me to reach out to her if needed. I highly highly recommend and she will be the first name I give to anyone going through any family court disputes.
