I believe a higher power directed me into the hands of Jennifer Lippmann as I was a naive, innocent 30 year old woman who had never seen a courtroom or even knew their were people aka lawyers that could not only “win” your case but essential to getting your life back on track. I was so naive that a lawyer was a lawyer…. If I had done nothing wrong and had nothing to hide , I shouldn’t have to search high and low for a way out of my short lived, highly volatile marriage. Thank god the first lawyer I called who I found via Google search bar by entering “lawyers near me” didn’t just see dollar signs or a new case, she heard my voice, listened to my story and honestly told me she she wasn’t the type of lawyer my situation needed, and kindly referred me to Powers Law specifically Jennifer Lippmann. I was a little confused but grateful for any guidance. The day I called Powers Law was when I decided to also Google 2020 cheating apps and downloaded about 6, finding my husband by his cell phone number on every one. I’d known for months something was different and wrong but couldn’t get an answer. After I messaged him on one, he came home from work early, entered our apartment, grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt and left without a word. I was working remotely and we had a 6 month old son. I remember being so confused because I didn’t even flip out like I should have. I actually said their is obviously your unhappy with, let’s try therapy but he told me I was a “mentally ill, drug addict” and he never wanted me to begin with. I remember I transferred like $400 of our money into a savings account because he had previously kept his paycheck from our account when we’d get into an argument knowing I’d have no choice but to forgive him when we had no money. He told me I stole money from him and I would be penalized when the time came. I called the number of the lawyer i was referred to and I’ll never forget getting a man (John Powers) who spoke to me for 30 minutes reassuring me I absolutely did not steal money, it was our own account and I remember him saying “if he is already pulling this crap, I assure you that you have called the right place” and informed me on important decisions i should immediately make for my safety and my childs & arranged an appointment with Jen a few days later. Ironically that weekend after I met her , I had to call 911 over a domestic incident and before i was even a client John has called me back as did Jen who specified how important it was that I take my child and myself and I go to my parents (which I naively thought was illegal) because of the threats and fears my husband had filled my head with. Once I had this team on my side, my life slowly turned around and in the beginning it felt like my life would never be okay again. Their were accusations of my husband leaving our child in an unattended car for an unsafe period of time, women sneaking into our apartment while I was in the hospital after a car accident, almost a dozen verbal and domestic incidents and even a CPS investigation. I remember feeling so helpless at one point, I just wanted to give him what he wanted to stop the torture but that would mean my son and that was not an option. Jen has been a powerhouse of strength, smarts and just human morality within such a tumultuous series of events. Today, although my case isn’t over I can tell you my husband has zero control over my life when a year ago he controlled the whole thing. She has put safety measures into place and been the voice i didnt have for myself, but grew when my son was born. She knows every answer to every question the judge asks and it’s exactly how I would respond. She doesn’t just people please me through my case but is honest and fair and i am never surprised with any outcome because of this. I made a choice to marry a man who lived a whole life I never knew existed until I had to. At a time where trust was the most confusing word in the dictionary, I hired Jen & relearned it

Rachel was amazing (In one word!) Extremely responsive, professional, knowledgeable and tough. I never won a case in family court before I retained her for my most recent case. I paid Husain A. Gatlin $2,500 to represent me in a simple civil dispute. From the beginning, he was difficult to get a hold of, and even though I only reached out with legitimate questions, Gatlin only communicated through a document uploading website, through which it took several days to get a response.
Communication got so bad with Gatlin that another lawyer of mine attempted to contact him regarding vital matters- he and I still got no response for weeks.
Gatlin made it clear to me -by actually telling me- that he was tired of this case and had no interest in continuing it. It was such a relatively minor case (albeit very important to me) that he simply lost interest when it started taking just a little longer than expected to reach a resolution.
WORSE OF ALL, I didn’t find out until trial commenced (with a new lawyer) that a major point of contention between the other party and me was caused by Gatlin’s carelessness.
Part of my countersuit against the other party was for trespassing. It didn’t come out until the trial, when opposing counsel brought it to my attention while I was on the witness stand, that unbeknownst to me, Gatlin had given the go-ahead to the other party to enter my property WITHOUT CONSULTING ME, OR EVEN TELLING ME AFTER HE DID IT. Police were called, charges were filed, trial took place, all because Gatlin, knowing I would never allow the trespass FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN, took it upon himself to let the other party enter my property without even telling me he’d done it.
As a trial date approached, when he should have been the most interactive, Gatlin completely fell off the face of the planet. Neither I nor my other attorney could reach him at all. Weeks later, I fired him and hired another attorney.
Since Gatlin did nothing the entire ten months he “represented” me (other than wear his pretty little bow ties), I filed for fee arbitration to recoup at least a portion of the $2,500 I paid. During the fee arbitration hearing, he blatantly lied several times, and when I proved he was lying, he resorted to insults.
If your case isn’t as sexy and exciting as a murder, this is the kind of service you can expect from Husain A. Gatlin.

The panel's questionable decision aside, there's no denying the fact that your carelessness put my children in danger and caused unnecessary litigation. And it's no coincidence that other negative reviews of you have common denominators- your carelessness, quickness to lose interest in cases you're paid to see through to the end, and petulant refusal to communicate with clients.

Sherine has been an enormous help to me during a high conflict and difficult time. My wife and I could not be happier and are truly grateful for the services provided by Mr. Joseph Wahl and his staff Lisa and Sophie. We live in Texas and were in immediate need of legal representation for our visitation petition case in the state of Delaware. We reached out to several firms in Delaware but their responses felt somewhat less personal. Mr. Wahl, on the other hand, leaned in to what we had to say and came up with the blueprint of our case shortly after our initial consultation. They have people fill out an extensive questionnaire to weed out potential clients they seem undesirable and unworthy of their representation, then tell you "We are at our case volume currently." Lol. Really? If that were true, then why not just say so to begin with. No. That's a fraudulent response that translates to: you're too poor or in a situation (like a marriage involving possible domestic violence) for me to waste my time with. I can only be bothered with easy cases with lots of cha-ching $$$. Sad.

The worst Atterney I could have ever chosen in my life. He left on vacation when my hearing was set. Then sent someone that didn’t have a clue hat was going on with my case. Worst mistake of my life as far as picking an Atterney. Huge mistake. He left when I needed him and paid him for. Then never answered. Huge mistake choosing Manny a Perez. Huge mistake. I happen to be one of those people that have been convicted of something g I did not do because I chose the wrong Atterney. At the end Manny told me I could just switch to another Atterney if I want after he took my money. Horrible experience. Don’t hire this guy. Hey tried to pursue me for additional money after he didn’t show up at my hearing. Horrible experience. I totally made a huge mistake by hiring Many Perez. The worst thing is that my mistake will now follow me for the rest of my life, from something that I am innocent of. He had no interest in my case at all. Rachel was very unprofessional. She didn’t take the case serious. She showed up the the court house unprepared. Judge was asking simple questions about the case she was shooting from the hip with the answers. Making my boyfriend have to step in and answer for her. Then when the final judgement was issued she conviently let the 10 days for an appeal laps. She was the worse took our $1500 and ran. Then to top it all off she dodge him for at least 2 weeks about speaking to her regarding everything.

Mr. Gore represented my 18 year old daughter on reckless driving and speeding citations (90 in a 70 MPH zone). We live out of state but Mr. Gore and his paralegal Zilla were absolutely a pleasure to work with. They were patient and prompt in their responses to my many questions. Mr. Gore was even able to appear for my daughter as this was a mandatory court appearance citation. In the end, Mr. Gore was able to get the reckless driving citation dismissed and the speeding reduced to improper equipment. The quote above is one I wish had come to mind before retaining the first attorney in my criminal case. It is never a good decision to make a decision from anxiety and fear of unfamiliar circumstances.
What prepares a person without a criminal record to take the next step in the judicial process after bonding out of jail? Nothing.
Living an honest life for 60 years means little when falsely accused of domestic violence. Watching as mandatory arrest and no-drop prosecution policies implemented to protect victims of domestic abuse were skillfully exploited and manipulated by the mother of my son's young child was staggering.
The hurried decision after being released from the mandatory Metro Jail 12-hour hold to pay legal retainer fee was a novice's mistake. Choosing from a list of private counsel found in the reception area of the Public Defender's Office without researching experience and case results almost jeopardized my rights and freedom. Unlike my accuser, there was no army of advocates waiting to guide me through the process.
Thankfully, I was able to find Mr. Horst's website in my online search for highly-rated experienced criminal trial attorneys. After watching Mr. Horst's video “My Client My Fight”, I knew he was the person for my defense.
The most repeated characteristics of successful criminal defense attorneys mentioned in articles I read online were:
Credibility, Communication Skills, Knowledge, Confidence, Civility, Personal Involvement and Courtroom Demeanor and my addition to the list - Backbone. Mr. Horst possesses them all in spades.
From the beginning, my decision to have the case bound over to Criminal Court was non-negotiable. Many people said to me, "Why not just accept the General Sessions hallway offer of judicial diversion, conviction, 16 week offender program and no jail time just to be done with the stress?"
Mr. Horst said me, "Why?"
Words cannot describe the feeling of waking up the morning after my case was retired. For the first time in almost a year the anxiety and thoughts of an emotional trial were gone.
I am very grateful for Mr. Horst's endless patience, understanding and guidance during the judicial process.
Hopefully, I will not need a criminal trial defense attorney in the future. I would, however, without hesitation, recommend Mr. Horst to anyone facing charges in criminal court.

Originally I started with a lawyer where when we showed up to the first court appearance the Judge shut us out didn’t let that attorney speak, and didn’t want to hear anything she had to say!
