This is the second time Michael has handled a bankruptcy case for me. I called him immediately because he was so helpful the first time. Michael focused on the situation at hand and how to solve the problem without making me feel guilty or bad about myself, which I really appreciated under the circumstances. The BEST!!!!!!! Hired her for a 40 year dissolution of marriage case after I experienced terrible representation from Linda Fried and Christina O’Brian (Henderson Franklin).
Michele was meticulous and heard my words. She was stellar at trial and uncovered the many lies through my ex’s testimony.

I read the past review about Jaime before calling him and knew immediately I'd like this guy and what do you know, 10 minutes into the call, he has me cackling on the phone. I've spoken to dozens of lawyers at this point about my landlord-tenant case, but I can say that out of all these people, Jaime truly cares for your wellbeing. Not only could he relate to the issues I've been dealing with, but he also shows compassion towards me, and is honest, transparent, and thoughtful in his responses. Jaime is a beast at this. I called this man with a situation that had me so mad i couldn't even explain to him correctly . I hung up because at this point i was so mad that im sure he could not understand me. He kindly called me back. I yelled at this man from the top of my lungs assuming he was going to treat me as other attorneys i tried calling prior to Jaime. Some even saying i dont understand you, you sound chinese. Jaime spent one hour and 12 minutes on the phone with me painting the reality of the legal system here in NY for a naïve dork who just moved here and was scammed. He was direct (one big reason I just moved back to the East Coast) and helped create a new angle that may help me with my challenge before I have to jump and swim in a whole heap of bureaucratic mess I would prefer not to play in. David and his team of lawyers are the real deal. Through their combined efforts, we were able to get over half a million dollars of total debt discharged despite our relatively high income from multiple sources. Forget those debt negotiation companies. If you can get over the artificial stigma ofbankruptcy, what you should pursue is a fresh start. The first thing David will tell you is to never rush into a bankruptcy petition. His team will guide you through the steps you need to take to construct the six-month look back period prior to filing the petition for a successful Chapter 7 case. He is always available via email and Zoom meetings upon request.
Be wary of other lawyers who advertise legal fees of $1500 and under. The last thing you want is to turn your Chapter 7 case into a Chapter 13 due to lack of good counseling, guidance, or diligence. David’s law firm does charge a little bit more than those other firms, but his team will stick with you to the end and never simply give up. And if you can get all of your unsecured debts fully discharged, the legal fees are worth every last penny.

I was in a very difficult situation where I purchased a house during the pandemic that was tenant occupied. The tenants barred me from conducting a professional inspection prior to purchase due to Covid concerns as one tenant was elderly. Against my better judgment, I purchased the house without a professional inspection and had to wait over a year after purchasing for the tenants to “feel comfortable enough” to allow an inspection. Had my insurance company not requested it, I don’t think they would have allowed it at all. Upon inspection, we discovered very extensive damage caused by negligence on the tenants part. Half of the kitchen was required to be demolished all the way down to the crawl space. After completing the work, I hired an attorney to represent me in an eviction on the basis of waste caused to the property. This attorney mishandled my case in every way imaginable. From being impossible to get ahold of, missing court deadlines, misplacing evidence, rejections of filings due to simple clerical errors, filing paperwork under my name for other cases, etc. I became so overwhelmed and ill with stress that I searched for a new attorney to substitute. I consulted with about 15 lawyers total and Tiffany Travillion was by far the best. She took on my case even though it was going to be difficult based on the errors and negligence in filings from my previous counsel. Not only was she thorough and promptly up to speed on everything, she was incredibly easy to get ahold of and really went the extra mile when she took the time to assure me, an anxious emotional mess, that she would not mishandle my case like my previous attorney. I finally had peace of mind and that meant the world. She kept me informed in real time on the status of my case and filings. She was easy to talk to and I finally felt like someone had my back. Her staff are very friendly, helpful, and efficient. We worked on this case for nearly a year and in the end, she won my case and got my house back. I was months away from having to cut my losses and sell my house at a huge loss. I can’t thank Tiffany and her team enough. I don’t know where I would be without them.
