I don’t think it’s very often you find the two words “reputable lawyer” paired together; however when referring to Fred Melms, it’s a perfect match. Of course you can add knowledgeable, compassionate, considerate, genuine as well as a fantastic communicator inside the courtroom and out. One of the things that impressed me about Mr. Melms is he didn’t try to impress me with his knowledge, nor did he need to. Instead he laid out our case in layman terms, made me feel comfortable and not stupid and he was not judgmental in any way.
I cannot begin to thank him enough for a successful outcome…he’s genius and incredibly real.
Needless to say I highly recommend him. Please know, if he cannot help you, he will be upfront with you and refer you elsewhere if needed.

Lawyers are like doctors, truly. We all hope that we never need one; but if we do, we want, and need, the absolute best. In respect to the absolute best, I can say that I found that in Brendan. As a person of color (more specifically a black male), I unfortunately encountered extreme racial aggression and discrimination on my job. As you might imagine, that alone brought with it great stress. Then, add having to deal with the legalities and legal battles that come along with that. Those two things combined are enough to drive anyone crazy, and they nearly did me. What made my legal journey different was Brendan. I can say unequivocally that he is one of the fiercest, most compassionate, knowledgeable, and responsive legal advocates that I have ever encountered in life. Put simply, he does not play. Past that, the level of kindness and professionalism with which he treats his clients, and approaches his practice, is beyond reproach. If you are reading this now, that likely means that you are looking for good legal counsel. To those looking for “good”, I’d tell you to keep looking. Those looking for phenomenal, Brendan is definitely your guy. It takes me a lot to write a review, but this one was easy to write. I came to Brendan with a very troubling legal issue and he made me feel like he was on my side and explained the issues to me in a clear way I could understand. I always felt like my case was a priority to him, even though he had other clients he was working with at the time. He kept me updated throughout the entire process. In the end, the final outcome was even better than I had hoped!

I was convicted of assault and battery and I didn’t know which law firm to go with. I found Josue Casanova after I did a google search of criminal lawyers in my area. After speaking with him, I decided to hire him as my lawyer and it was the best decision I could have made. He met with me about 5 times in the span of two months for a significant amount of time and spent a lot of time on my case outside of our appointments. He was attentive, showed that he genuinely cared, and was very personable. He was able to settle outside of court on my behalf and get me what I wanted out of the case. He also didn’t try to get a ridiculous amount of money out of me like so many lawyers try to. Something really neat was that the head of the firm would occasionally join us during our appointments, which was awesome. I 100% recommend Josue Casanova. He is an amazing lawyer and person.

Josh is a very professional yet personal attorney. He cares enough to look over the whole case, to find and act on the inconsistencies in the discovery. He listened and supported my defense without making me feel uncomfortable in any way. He even went out of his way to help my witnesses feel comfortable about a rather embarrassing element that was part of the trial. i have never felt so comfortable and been so happy with any legal professional. Amazing, wonderful or just two words I would end my conversations with Mr. Finer. Jeffry always took my calls, took the time to explain my situation and was very honest as what to expect. I just adore his assistant Deanette, who is the cutest sweetest lady ever. Even when she had a hectic morning she would stop what she was doing to look for a file. Mark was great as my attorney. Prompt, together, knowledgeable and most importantly empathetic. The Courtroom can be very foreboding environment to to find yourself in and Mark made it a point to ease my apprehensions. Having previously received bad advice from a different attorney, I was in a nightmare situation trying to sort out a legal situation. I was spending a lot of time and effort sorting out a legal situation in which I was ultimately faced with a crappy settlement offer on top of which I would need to tie up some loose ends myself that I wouldn't have known how to do. I reached out to Greg and after meeting with him only one time, he promptly secured an even better settlement and took care of those loose ends for me. I wish I had gone to Greg sooner - I'm sure my settlement would have been even better if I had been with him from the beginning than securing him last minute. Albukerk more than anything listens! He is the only lawyer to win a case of Medicaid or Medicare fraud in the Chicago area and also to win the release of a man falsely accused as a sexually violent person who had been jailed for 30 years. He gets in there right away and preserves evidence of your innocence. If you are guilty he has the experience and knows the prosecutors and judges and how to get you the lowest possible sentence on a plea bargain. The only negative is that he tends to be blunt about worse case scenarios - but I believe that is only a matter of informing you honestly of the fact that the courts do not necessarily follow the law and juries and judges do not necessarily go by the evidence. There is far too much politics and prejudice in the courts and in juries. He is about as good as you will get and his prices are moderate. My family has used him for a collections case, for criminal defense, and I have watched him help friends with divorce cases and police excessive force cases.

The legal system is a daunting and truly scary realm for most, but for those of us that live a law abiding life - ignorance can be detrimental when you find yourself a victim of false allegations. John is more than a lawyer, he is a counselor of the law, who focuses on the individual client and expects that you (the expert in your own life) take charge of your case with his guidance and thus fight alongside him and not just hide behind him. From the initial meeting, John showed me professionalism, respect and ethical behavior. These standards were prevalent throughout the handling of my case.
Dedication is a very powerful word, but cannot truly describe John's targeted focus and tenacity. While I had never dealt with a lawyer before, I did call many who instead of offering their support via guidance of the law, belittled and terrified me. John was real, and from the beginning set high, but tangible expectations of what it takes to win or prove a case. He dedicated his life to me during the every step of the preparation of my case. He spent over 10 hours of his day with me prior to trial and was prepared for whatever came our way.

I would like to thank Mr. D. Schultz VERY much for his kind help when I had a few important questions regarding my small claims case. It was a very difficult situation, as I could not retain an attorney, as the amount involved was too small. Mr. Schultz was very understanding and answered the questions I had in regard to technicalities. I won the case ! I had won already, but the defendant appealed and retained an attorney. It was a very tough fight. I am VERY grateful for the help from Mr. Schultz, who listened very patiently to my questions. The landlords of the home I had rented for 4 years put the house on the market while I was still living there. I endured 2 invasive open houses where I was asked to vacate the premised as well as required to make the home presentable. When the home entered escrow, construction to shore up the foundation ensued. The foundation work required a crew of 4 to crawl under the one story cabin to dig out dirt.
They started at 7:00 in the morning. I caught one of the laborer looking up from a hole in the floor in my bathroom, feces were left in my backyard as well as a pervasive urine smell. This went on for 3 weeks. The landlord did not reduce my rent or compensate me for this disturbance or my time. Nor did they intend to pay relocation costs when the house was sold and I was evicted. Mr. Fraser was able to secure $5,000 relocation fees and free rent for my last harrowing month in the home as well as full refund of my rent deposit and a little extra for my pain and suffering. This allowed me the means to relocate without further stress.

Daniel Lauber assisted two of my company's with zoning issues pertaining to 3 different CBRF's or group homes for the elderly / disabled. He attended council meetings, talked with city attorneys, met with city planners as well as the mayors. He also, assisted us with meetings with the neighbors. He is respected by the city attorneys and they listen to him closely. His credentials seem to put fear into city planners / attorneys, and he does get results. I would recommend him for any legal needs for I know he always does his research and is always well prepared for meetings / court. He will never let you down.

If you've ever tried to zone a halfway house (for any special population), you know that an act of Congress won't get it done. It takes an act of God. Mr. Lauber was invaluable to my zoning efforts to obtain a special use permit to operate a community corrections facility for convicted felons in Colorado. Since he remained in Chicago and all the communication was done via phone and email, the details of communication became even more important. I had a failed attempt (at another location) approximately 2 years earlier and was nervous that all my work on this project would end the same way. I contacted Mr. Lauber after reading about his expertise with halfway houses. He partnered with me in the exact manner that I needed. Based on feedback I received from my previous attempt, I knew that I had to actually do the zoning hearing presentation, not an attorney (I really think this varies based on local politics). Mr. Lauber worked with me to gather all the necessary research, conduct a neighborhood informational meeting, and plan and develop my presentation to the zoning board. Perhaps most importantly, he was an excellent cheerleader. When the going got tough, he was upbeat (but realistic) and eager to support my efforts and challenge me to get the next step done rather than get lost in anxiety. His knowledge of zoning law in general and his willingness to get up to speed on my local zoning laws was exceptional. He communicated directly with the planning dept when I ask him to and gave me advice on how to handle it when I wanted to deal with it personally. In other words, he let me drive the train. He was there to offer support and expertise as I needed. Thankfully, I listened to him. The process of informing everyone under the sun prior to the hearing was important. The zoning hearing was ugly but our presentation was impressive and really did not give the zoning board any option other than to vote in the affirmative. The zoning hearing lasted from 5 pm until 10:30 pm. The first person I called after the hearing was my wife. The second person was Daniel Lauber. With the combination of experience, knowledge and trustworthiness, you would be making a mistake to go with someone else.

I contacted Lorenz for some business law help. Specifically, I had some questions about a contract and NDA that were being drawn up, and I wanted some answers from a local attorney. It was important for me to understand the language of the contract, and there were a few things that weren't quite making sense. I recently faced a daunting array of charges, including Assault & Battery on a Family/Household Member, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Improper Storage of a Firearm. With mandatory minimum incarceration looming, my freedom hung in the balance.
Attorney Estes proved to be an invaluable ally during this challenging time. Through his skillful negotiation with the prosecutor, he orchestrated a plea arrangement that resulted in the dismissal of a majority of the charges. Remarkably, he secured a Continuance Without a Finding (CWOF) for the most serious offense, effectively avoiding the mandatory jail time that seemed inevitable.

I hired Megan Hayes for a retaliation case and she explained it all to me and she lets me know what shes doing in my case. She is extremely good at law. She emailed me even after work hours to let me know she saw something in my paperwork she wrote up and let me know of the changes. She will always call you back if she is busy.
