Mr. Jason Whooper is absolutely invested in his clients. During my initial consultation, he spoke to me for over an hour!! I’m lucky to get 10-15 mins with other attorney’s I have consulted with. I just wanted to take a moment to not only post my highest recommendation for Barbara, but also thank her. When I first started looking for representation, my instinct was to search online. I went to a few interviews with other attorneys , but I didn't feel like they understood the complexities and severity of what I had gone through. They all wanted to take my case, but I felt like a number...as though it was all just dollar signs to them.
Finally after much effort and frustration, I asked one of my attorney friends who he thought was the best in the industry. Right away, he arranged a phone consultation with Barbara. After our initial conversation, she made time to meet with me as soon as possible.
She understood the minute intricacies of what I experienced immediately. It was a very difficult/ painful issue to talk about, and Barbara made me feel welcome and understood. She not only is an absolute master in her field, but she is very astute and empathetic as well. From there, Barbara & her protege Emily Stehr ( brilliant rising star), took care of every detail. I was a student at one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the US, and undoubtedly, the world. I had been away on a medical leave of absence for a year after my first year and the school was giving me a difficult time getting back in. I contacted several lawyers, consulted with quite a few, all to have each and every one of them say there was nothing that could be done to get this institution to allow me to continue at that point in time. I had to do what the school asked. In the mix of lawyers contacted was Mr. Ricotta's firm. One morning, soon after I had left that message on their answering machine (I had left the message on a holiday), Mr. Ricotta called me back. Both Mr. Ricotta and Mr. Marks treated me with respect, and as a human being, not just as a client. They talked me through the whole process, gave me good advice and got the job done! I called Ms. Ekaterina Berman to consult with a case, and she provided excellent consultation even she didn't have time to take my case.
She listens really well. She gets my point immediately, and gets to her point clearly. The communication was very professional and easy.
She offered her professional take on the case and on my concerns, even I haven't hired her. She does not just care about money. She said, to save the time and money, what is the good way to proceed instead of forcing me a case to open and hire her.
Although I didn't end up with working with her on my case, I feel only someone who is good at what he/she is doing can do practice and work in the way Ms. Ekaterina Berman does. Larry's team helped me find a resolution to a wrongful termination case. Sometimes when seeking a skilled lawyer to resolve such matters, you must forgo having a compassionate and enjoyable experience. Not in the case with Larry. He was able to make me feel validated in my pursuit while playing hardball with my former employer. I never felt like he was negotiating with opposing counsel to my detriment. He always had my back. "I am an experienced paramedic, with awards and decorations, with over 20 years of experience. Recently I was terminated from my empowerment through no fault of my own. I had applied for unemployment compensation and was denied. I reached out to Attorney Lasko . After a through and extensive consultation with Attorney Lasko, where he was able to analyze my termination and give me a firm understanding of what my legal rights were as to wrongful termination and unemployment benefits, I retained Attorney Lasko. Attorney Lasko was able to put together an highly effective letter that was sent to my former employer which resulted in my re-employment and the winning of unemployment benefits in the appeal process that covering unemployment benefits for the time I was out of work.. However, if you do, as we did, this is THE only firm to consider on LI. From partners, Rob and Sarah, to junior attorneys, associates and support staff, their services are simply unmatched.
And wowza! There’s even a real human, extremely competent, receptionist that answers the telephone. No push this and speak that and try to muddle thru some silly automated phone system; a consistent personal, caring approach to business at every level.
Rob Valli is thorough, on point and straight forward, mixed with kindness and compassion. Don’t mistake his kindness for weakness, tho! He can be a “bulldog”, if necessary and definitely precisely when needed. make no mistake, he knows his business and gets the job done.
There’s no “sugar coating“ and telling you what you want to hear, refreshing! He, and his associates at every level, provide everything you need and want on your side. Strong communication skills are a must for me and they deliver information clearly and concisely. Always, in a professional and succinct comprehensive manner. They know lay of land on LI and have the skill set to get job done.
Recently, I was asked how I know Rob when referring him, again. I paused... just for a moment and said “...Rob is my friend!”. I suddenly realized I do consider him my friend. Ethan is a very thorough and competent professional. I gave notice to my company that I was leaving for a competitor and two days before my last day, the Company decided to take issue with where I was going. The journey through the immigration process seemed daunting and choosing an attorney seemed perhaps even more daunting.

Wpuld not recommend. He dont fight for rights and facts. My employer worked me over a month, didnt pay me, then when i quit, harrassed me and this firm denied my claim so i guess they believe its right for people to get done any old way. Or wait...mabye not enough money for them. So again...dont recommend. So sad this firm dont fight for rights and now, here i am a single dad with nothing, Christmas ruined for my 7 year old and im a nobody still to this firm. They could care less.

I have no idea how a poor, black man convicted of murder in Lancaster, PA was fortunate enough to have attorney John M. Masslon, Esq. appointed by the court to successfully argue how inneffective every prior court-appointed counsel was and finally get him PCRA relief in the form of a new trial. Nor do I know the defendant or this lawyer and I take no position on his guilt or innocence. But I just did a deep dive on Google Scholar based on a newspaper article and read all the appeals. If not for Mr. Masslon's exceptional appellate skills, the defendant might rot in jail forever for lack of a good lawyer. If all court-appointed lawyers in PA were as diligent and effective from the get-go, the taxpayers would save a lot of money, the court system would not be as clogged, there would be no professional conflicts of interest to worry about, and the integrity of the PA judicial system would not be called into question as often as it is. Bravo, sir. Law as it should be: Fair, honest, ethical and just.

I’ve read all these reviews and am confused. Half of them are complaints about lack of communication & the other half are ranting & raving about their communication tactics. They’re either all or nothing…. None are in between. So I want to know how they choose which client gets which treatment because my sisters and I haven’t received any information from this law firm in over 3 years now. Not very reassuring at all!!!!!
