Mr. Golchin was my lawyer for a case which a careless driver passed the red light at a intersection and hit my car so badly. My car was totaled and I was screened by the emergency. Unfortunately, the other driver did not acknowledge her fault, initially. But becasue of high endeavors, efforts, and consistency of Mr. Golchin, the other driver's insurance take the responsibility of the accident and paid the maximum available amount for my medical expenses and etc.
Mr Golchin is available almost 24/7 for answering your concerns and providing you with the helpful advice. He replies all the emails promptly. All the paperwork were done remotely (online) and there was no need to meet him in person. I highly appreciate Mr. Golchin skills, patience, supports, and efforts for finely settling my difficult case.

In 2014, when I was stranded in Tijuana, MX after escaping political persecution in my home country (long story), I frantically looked for an immigration attorney to seek asylum in the US. I shot off emails to several SD attorneys, asking them questions the answers to which I already knew to gauge their: 1) responsiveness and 2) expertise.
You'd be surprised how often lawyers provide the wrong answers even during the first consultation. No way I'm paying a single cent to any lawyer who doesn't know the law.
It turned out that Mr Golchin was the only who responded promptly AND correctly. Not only that, he PERSONALLY TRAVELED DOWN TO MEXICO just to meet me, and this was before I even retained him. That just goes to show his sheer dedication and willingness to go the extra mile in performing his duties. He left an extremely positive impression so I retained him.
When I was in immigration detention, he worked tirelessly to liaise with ICE officers to get me released ASAP and also visited me personally. With his assistance, I was finally paroled into the US. When the time came to file for a work permit and to file for asylum (I-589), Mr Golchin prepared the necessary form and documents conscientiously and accurately so as to prevent unnecessary delays.
When I had to defend my case in court in Los Angeles, Mr Golchin traveled more than a handful of times to my city to represent me in court. Though not a loud/flamboyant lawyer, he knows the law extremely well, he makes a huge effort to acquaint himself with the facts of your case, and when arguing he adopts a deliberate, collected, yet persuasive tone to convince the immigration judge of his position. Mr Golchin and I have always prepared through Skype conferences or personal meetings right before any court appearance.
Most importantly, Mr Golchin won my case for me (I'm finally a US asylee) at first instance, and the government attorney had also promised not to appeal the decision. I think, after all said and done, this is the most important point. I wouldn't be singing praises if my case had to go to appeal. I've also always felt comfortable consulting Mr Golchin on not only immigration matters but also other legal matters. He has been of assistance to me in legal matters beyond immigration.
In short, I'd highly recommend Mr Golchin for your immigration-related matters. He's the perfect combination of legal expertise and also genuine care and attentiveness for his clients.

Came to Lawyer Kevin with a. Issue regatding my visitation and the lack of compliance with my EX. Megan was assigned to my case and did an excellent job. At the time I was having major anxiety towards the entire situation and was treated really qell by Megan. When I had a civil harassment restraining order filed against me, I was confident that I could handle it on my own without an attorney. I was referred to Susan from the San Diego Lawyer referral service. I know lawyers are not cheap, but I have never regretted one second hiring this woman. She has been worth every penny. I had a basic my husband is a foreigner and we needed to adjust his status. But her and her office team knew right away what forms to fill out, documents I would need, etc. It is true what all the other reviews say. She does get back to you very quickly and gets things done in a timely manner. I have read that other immigration lawyers have delayed the process for other people because they take forever to respond to questions or get their paperwork done. Not this office. I have had all sorts of random question about the immigration process and things I can and can not do with my husband and she has been there every step of the way to help us. We are not done yet with the process, but it definitely has given me a peace of mind knowing she'll be there with us through the journey.

My case involved me working with a business partner with whom I had a verbal contract. I was to exchange work for a percentage of a company we would start together. As Founders, we made many sacrifices to get the company off the ground and make it successful. When I later demanded my shares in writing, my partner made excuses until finally severing the relationship and exploiting my failure to get a written contract in place.

For 2 years my x-partner tried to spend me out of court and get me to quit. Mr. Paschall handled their tact wisely and with authority. He kept on top of them every step of the way and applied pressure when it matter most.

Vanessa is very knowledgeable in what she does. Her professionalism and passion made this extremely tough time for me remarkably smooth. She was always able to give me all the information I needed and made very clear of the possible outcomes. Communication with her was open at all times and if she is busy, she would make sure to get back to you as soon as she could. I had 4 misdemeanors charged against me with 60 days custody over my head. With a couple months of negotiating, I get a call with great news. 60 day custody was dropped and 3 of 4 misdemeanors were dropped. The outcome was truly more than I can ask for. I contacted the office of Michael Ripley based on all the peer reviews I had read. Now I know firsthand, where the five stars come from. Above and beyond is the simple two words to convey the level of work this office, Nelia Castro, Jennifer Kiss and Becky, have done to settle my 2nd lien and modify my first with Wells Fargo, jumbo loan.
I had initally hired the staff to help me modify my first but out of the blue the 2nd lien, returned after over 5 years of no contact. Their last information saying they had written off the loan. However, 2nd liens can come back and will, once you have some equity. I would strongly encourage anyone, not to wait, because the 2nd started foreclosure as soon as the equity was enough that they would get something out of us.
Nelia can be direct when she needs to be but she, Jennifer and Becky are so compassionate. Like a light at the end of a very very long dark tunnel. Listen to them! This level of work takes a considerable amount of time and knowhow and the time and knowledge more than outweighs the compensation. They are a law firm and will need to be compensated as such so they can stay in business and have a life themselves.
Going into this, you need to realize that it is ultimately the homeowners creation of their situation at some point along the way and be willing to accept this, fully. That will be the only way you will get through this. Look at the big picture and do not get caught up in the minutia of the cost, interest rate, submission of documents and trust this law firm will give you an honest view of the situation, whether you like it or not.
We had to borrow, sell, rent a room to make this happen but we were comitted to keeping our home. The staff at Michael Ripley law stuck with us for a long time, all the long way through. I hope this office is able to stay in business. Homeowners desperately need their help and guidance because there is just no one else to turn to.
If you are in our shoes, give a call. Get that consultation. Even if you jumped through the hoops, got all the docs in on time, had the right income, it is still up to the investor to make the final decision and there is no one that has control over that but them, not us, not the law office. If you are reading this, you probably sit where we did over a year ago. It was our 2nd mod, the first 4 years ago. It is a difficult process but with the help of this office it will give you insight to making the best decisions. Good luck!

But Nicole Heffel made the whole "rather unpleasant" ordeal a breeze.
