BEWARE: This attorney has been Disciplined w/actual suspension by the State Bar.
I strongly advise against hiring Edmond Salem as your attorney. My experience with him was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Firstly, he lacks credibility and has a history of disciplinary issues, including an actual suspension from the state bar. This alone should raise red flags for anyone considering his services.
Moreover, he is not honest in his dealings. I found his advice to be misleading, and he failed to provide clear and accurate information about my case. His lack of transparency was concerning and made me question his integrity as a professional.
To make matters worse, Edmond Salem finds ways of overcharging for his services. I was shocked by the exorbitant fees he billed, which were not justified by the quality of his work. It's clear that he prioritizes his financial gain over the best interests of his clients.
In summary, Edmond Salem is an attorney you should avoid. His past disciplinary actions, lack of honesty, and unreasonable fees make him a poor choice for legal representation.

Mr. Salem was not only able to minimize very stiff penalties I was facing in a criminal case, he also helped me save my job by getting the charges reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. He and his very capable staff stood by me every step of the way during very a frightening time for me. No one ever expects to find themselves facing jail time and the quality of your legal representative can determine the outcome of your case. Should anyone find themselves facing an improbable situation, I would strongly recommend Ed Salem for knowledgeable and effective representation.

While her father may have been a highly respected attorney in Humboldt County, it's clear that she does not follow in his footSteps. As someone who has witnessed this attorney's performance in court, I am appalled by her lack of professionalism and integrity. While representing the mother and grandmother of my two sons in a custody battle, she consistently relied on lies, hearsay, and irrelevant information to gain an advantage. This is especially egregious considering the serious allegations of abuse against my children, which she seemed to have no qualms about ignoring or glossing over. Her spoiled, bratty demeanor only added insult to injury. I strongly advise anyone seeking a trustworthy and ethical attorney to look elsewhere.

I had to defend myself against Rory and my child’s Mother who was arrested multiple times under the influence of drugs and alcohol, endangering my child, resisting arrest among many other charges. Rory is incredibly unethical, manipulative, will spew out dishonest statements, he will stoop to the lowest in an attempt to win. Him and Judge Elvine Kriess have no integrity whatsoever. They put their feelings and egos before protecting children, they are so pathetic, blinded by greed and starving for power. Oh yea, and it turned out she was arrested for child endangerment, DUI, violence charges...etc. once again while Rory and Judge Elvine Kreiss were pointing the finger at me the whole time while ignoring my pleas about her ongoing behavior. Rory Hanson and Gregory Elvine Kreiss are the scum of the earth.
Manipulation is when they blame you for your reaction to their toxic behavior but refuse to discuss their actions and behavior that triggered you.

Mr. Pell had a case he was doing for me . I never once got a call about my cases nor dates that I would of missed if I didn't go to the court and see what was going on. His office was dirty. Kids running around the office. He was always to busy to talk. Never got a invoice on a monthly cycle . He takes your money and no work is done.

I hired Mr. Pell many years ago to fight a DUI case. We met a couple times over YEARS. He kept collecting money and in turn would push back the court dates. He kept telling me that this is how we win. The office itself was very unprofessional and always acted as if they were doing me a favor and that I was a disruption to them. He pushed my case off more than 4 years and cost me almost $20,000 to fight a DUI case that he did not win or even try to win. Run run run away from this law office and the "lawyers" who work there. Since then (more than 8 years ago) I now have experience with many other law firms, primarily for business and trust purposes. I have never met another attorney that was this terrible.

As soon as you walk in there is an elderly white gentleman that works in the library displayed acts of prejudice. He kept staring at us and watching our every move. When we asked him questions he was rude and abrupt. Would not assist us with elevator. But when other people of his color entered he was cheerful and pleasing to them. I will never go again

Ursula was very helpful and prompt with my case. Doing the BK was thought through very carefully, but now I'm glad that I did it No regrets, she was able to save my wages from garnishment and the lawyer that represented me on her behalf in court was very nice and understanding as well. I work with many lawyers at my job, not nearly as nice and helpful as Ursula though. I highly recommend her offices.

Should be zero stars. A complete waste of time, at either office. The receptionist wouldn't let me answer her questions, then transferred me to someone who was incredibly rude and hung up on me. A call to their other office to try to get help showed they had already spread garbage and lies about me. I am a 100% disabled veteran with a service connected disability and suffer from emotional dysregulation, among other things. This business is complete and total garbage. Businesses like this make me regret my military service. Avoid, even if you have to pay. These people do not give a single crap about you.

Renee Mochkatel wasted my time. Unfortunately I was referred to this firm at the time because the other lawyers don’t work Ventura County cases. I must say it has been a complete waste of time dealing with these people. It took her two months to get back to me for an incident report just to say that she couldn’t help me and she claims she has sent me many emails, which is not true because I have every receipt listed. I’m extremely disappointed in her lack of professionalism. I would not recommend her to work with anybody. She has no quality of care and it seems like everybody in this firm Have the same tendencies. Luckily, I found Attourney who has communicated with me and is willing to help me I thought I should go with him because I was referring huge mistake on my end!

My experience working with BishLaw has been absolutely TERRIBLE. I don't usually write reviews but I want to share my experience so you make the right choice and you avoid wasting your time and money.
I got into a motorcycle accident in California, I was standing at a stop sign behind other cars when another car driver was approaching from the opposite direction towards me... This car driver (which happens to be a Lyft driver) was looking away and completely bumped into the front of my motorcycle knocking me down.. He also left before the police arrived..I hurted my knee pretty badly and my bike had over $6k damages.. (the easisted case in the world you would say right..?)
I was referred to Bish law by a good friend and my experience working with them has been absolutely AWFUL to say the least... I was CONSTANTLY talking to different people, nobody would pick up the phone or return my emails to give me updates on the case..the lack of communication and support has been INSANE. After over 2.5 years waiting I found out they never accepted liability so they were not considering the property damage as liability. They handled the injury claim as a nuisance offer only for a ridiculously low offer...
This is not even about the ridiculously low settlement that I never received for a legitimate case or the crazy amount of time I spent chasing this company just to get someone telling me what was going on...The way this case has been handle by BISH law since was an absolute disaster and they were incredibly unprofessional to me.
After reading some of their reviews it looks like I am definitely not the only one that had problems...my personal advice: do NOT work with Bishlaw, there're plenty of good companies out there that can help you.

I was sitting at a stop light when I was hit by a very large enclosed SUV like an Eldorado. The ambulance was called and they had to extracate me from my car. I was injured. The first time I spoke with Mindy Bish, I had asked her what she preferred I call her Mrs. Bish or Mindy? She started screaming that she is a prfessional and continued to scream and scream until I had to hang up. Mindy had me speaking to Lawyer Norman Goodfriend for about 10 months. Nothing was still being done. I asked Norman Goodfriend to settle my case to please, make an offer. He never did. Mindy Bish called me and said the defendant was suing me. I found out Mindy lied. The defendant accepted fault on the same day as the accident. I also had a witness. Stacey Cutter calledand gave me the date of my deposition. Stacey wanted me there early to go over somethings. She was late. After the deposition Stacey said nothing at all. I asked if I could get the deposition after it is typed up. She said "yes". I called and called Stacey Cutter wouldnt send it to me. After 7 months they sent me someone elses deposition. No apology and I was never sent mine. I called the woman and let her know Mindy Bish sent deposition to me with all of her private info. she was angry. Mindy Bish would call ever so often and just scream at me how she was going to drop my case. Before my deposition she screamed and told me how she was going to drop me. Before my appointment with State Farms Dr. She called and screamed at me to get there. She then said i think I am going to drop you. It was the fourth time I asked Mindy to settle my case and she laughed. She and Stacey Cutter told me my case is worth $100,000.00. Mindy Bish dropped me the next week on 11/9/16. I was never given a reason why. My court date was 3/17/17. I had called Breanna the secretary to confirm that Stacey Cutter would be there with my paper file and my deposition. I was put on hold. Breanna came back on the line and stated "Stacey Cutter will be in court for sure and will bring your file and deposition with her". Stacey Cutter never showed up. And now noone will talk to me. she would call and scream,belittle me, etc. I have never known anyone so disrespectful and unprofessional. They have ruined my case so badly that I like so many others cant find a good lawyer. Lawyers are given scores by AVVO. These scores tell you how well they are doing. Stacey Cutter and Mindy Bish both have a score of 6 which is not good. AVVO scores are 1-10. I would not hire a lawyer under 9.0-10. Jeffrey quickly arranged a phone call with us. He had empathy and a sincere concern for the problem we encountered. Soon after the first phone meeting, Jeffrey Tsu did some research about the company and gave us some great advice and suggestions. The demand letter was quickly written and sent out. **TO THE GENTLEMAN BELOW ME, YOU SOUND LIKE YOU NEVER HAD A LAWYER BEFORE. IVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE MY FIRST TIME HAVING A LAWYER TOO**
This is my 3rd case with Neil. Neil is my first lawyer ever. I had the same experience my first time with him too. I’ve found that lawyers need to be left alone when working. If they need anything they will let you know. In the meantime, lawyers are processing your paperwork. This process of paperwork takes time because they’re court paperwork (takes time), insurance paperwork (takes time) and many many forms to fill out and give to numerous companies for authorizations to get information about the incident. Lawyers wait until said companies get back to them and their doing their own back and forth with other companies while trying to keep everything timely.
I just give Neil all of my info and sit back and wait 6 to 8 to sometimes 18 months until he tells me he has won my case. I check on him every 6 months with an email and get a quick reply with updated status. But for the most part Neil is like the Ronco Showtime Rotisserie Oven: JUST SET IT AND FORGET IT!!
Lol Neil is a great lawyer. I hope this helps future clients understand him. Let the man work. He only contacts you to give important info $$$$$$

This attorney was recommended to me by a friends mother. I later found out she received payment for the referral. I thought Neil was wonderful in our initial meeting. My vehicle was totaled and I was unable to work because of it. I really needed his help. I went to the doctors he sent me to and was told he knew them and they would be great for my case. After a substantial amount of time, I tried contacting him to see what the status of my case was. After numerous attempts, he called and berated me. I felt hopeless and needed help. I waited another six months. I called again, his staff kept telling me he was away. He simply wouldn't call me back or even send me a letter explaining what was happening. I finally sought another attorney and fired Neil. In the end he still received a good amount of money from my settlement. Needless to say, I was very unhappy with his performance and attitude.

I have a “soft tissue” injury case from a car accident 3.5 years ago. Unfortunately, my case ended up going to trial.
I originally hired Lawrence Lallande, who was unavailable to represent me due to vacation plans he did not want to change, so he hired Minh Nguyen to represent my case at trial, assisted by Karina Lallande (Lawrence’s daughter, Lallande Law).
The total award/judgment was $300,452.
I received 8% of the total award.
Lallande Law and Law offices of Minh T. Nguyen spent over $178k on my case, (including an 11k hotel bill at a “boutique hotel”).
Their profit was over $97k (4 times as much as I received--not including the exorbitant amount they spent on trial costs, hotels, and dinners).
The Honorable Judge Thomas W. Wills made the following statement during trial:
“I have not seen behavior like the repeated transgressions of the Plaintiff’s counsel in this case in nearly 40 years in this business.”
Overall, in addition to the terrible financial outcome in my case (I didn’t even come close to recouping my lost wages from time off work for medical treatment), I did not have a good experience, or feel secure with either Minh or Karina. I never knew what to expect and felt severely under-communicated with. Prior to going on the stand for hours over 2 days, I had received hardly any instruction or prep from my attorneys.
Overall, I did not have a good experience. I trusted that they knew what they were doing—assuming that if we won, the proverbial "proof would be in the pudding.” As it turned out, the pudding was rancid—despite “winning” the trial. I would STRONGLY recommend to avoid both Minh Nguyen Law and Lallande Law.

Sara is a very knowledgeable go getter. She will keep you in the loop with everything and really does do everything she can to take care of you. I was turned down by other lawyers but Sara took my case and I was so happy. She made me feel comfortable through the whole process and even found doctors for me who would work on a lien until I received my settlement. I can not say enough amazing things about Sara. She is there for you no matter what time day or night. If you have a question at any time she does not make you feel bad about calling and she will get back to you with your answer as fast as she can. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Sara. Hopefully I will never need a lawyer but if I ever do you can best believe she is my person!!!!!!!!

Completely failed to put case together. Although the other party had admitted guilt from start she still managed to mess things up. Mixed up all the information given to her. Failed to explain and communicate the process. Would not reply for months at a time to neither emails, phone calls or texts. Very rude and rushed when dealing with client. Awful experience. I only spoke with Mark one time before the initial settlement conference. He was obviously unfamiliar with my case. The judge told him that the statue of limitations was up on an important aspect of my case. He was an embarrassment to me. He was the rudest person that I know. He later tried to tell me my case was over when it wasn't. I came away with a small settlement, no job and an IRS bill for $7000. His wife also an attorney said it wasn't taxable.

Dennis Geselowitz is the Best of the Best in his field. He has won 2 law suits for us in the past few years. One of them which was a Jury Verdict and it was the verdict of the week in all the papers in California!!!!!! The other was settled out of court about this time last year. We are Very Happy with both lawsuits!!! I have recently hired Dennis again for further representation and have referred many friends his way for representation for other Lawsuits. Dennis knows his LAW!!!! He does the utmost research for your case and spends quality time with all his clients. If there was a rating higher than 10 out 10 Dennis would be on the 20 scale!!!! I regret hiring this attorney. His staff members are unprofessional and do him a great disservice. I would tell him so, but he won't return my calls. At first, I thought the poor service I received was merely because his representatives lacked communication skills, but now I wonder if this is indicative of Dennis Geselowitz' himself. The paralegals on his staff act afraid of the other side's attorneys: they have constantly told me that there is nothing can do, the other side won't budge, they fight vigorously. My question is: doesn't Mr. Geselowitz also fight vigorously? The staff makes Mr. Geselowitz sound wimpy and like a kitten compared to the defendant's attorney whom they make sound like a lion. By the way: I hired this attorney because I was rear-ended while I was dead-stopped at a red light. There was no question who caused the accident, and these dimwits couldnt even get me access to a rental car, I had to do it on my own. I experienced legitimate emotional and physical harm, and a year and a half later, they're still telling me that the other side's attorneys are strong and big and powerful and that poor Mr. Geselowitz would have no chance winning against him. He may have graduated from a great school, and maybe in his early years practicing law he was outstanding, but he is not worth your time as long as he continues to surround himself with paralegals and investigators who give him a vote of no confidence. Again, I would tell him this myself, but when I call, I get transferred to voicemail hell. Next stop: the State Bar of California.

Mama of 3 boys, my eldest is Autistic and the accident occurred on his birthday, the stress and confusion and anxiety of just the impact itself, was overwhelming, the "processes" after were overbearing! This whole situation was painful, emotionally, financially, physically, you name it! I am beyond grateful, not just for the ease and support the law firm gave me, but the comfort, the reassurance, the compassion AND care, Anna Viramontes from this law office, gave my children. My kids were smiling as our family healed. They jumped into taxis happy. They rode buses giggling. These aren't things you can "Pay to fix".

It's crazy how all these reviews are bad about the attorney and his office. I had a car accident and they handled my case prompt and professionally got me a Dr and handled my case fine. One thing these bad reviews don't understand and they make it seem like they were the only client they needed to attened to i knew i was one of many many many cases they were handling. The bad reviews are from money hungry clients who think they need to cater to them. I would definitely recommend this office and this attorney they know what they are doing

I chose Mauro Fiore Jr law firm because he mentions that he cares for his clients. He said his staff is “experienced, courteous, and knowledgeable.”
I soon discovered that my experience would be the inverse and contrary to how he represents himself and his staff to be according to his website.
In the whole first month, I had one telephone conversation with his Associate Yolanda Torres. I called to her for information on my case, and to let her know about my pain. I wanted legal advice and left numerous messages for her. Not once did she return a phone call. I felt totally disrespected and after receiving reassurance from my husband, I walked into the office unannounced. I literally had to demand attention from her. The Office Staff were unbelievably rude and treated my husband and I as if we were the problem and not them. If not for Veronica Barraza, my negotiator, I would never have stayed with this office. What Yolanda Torres, Mauro Fiore and the Office Staff personnel never realized, was that my husband had been the liaison for Keisel, Boucher and Larson – the Counsel for 508 Victims of Clergy Abuse. He was picked by the Victims’ Attorney Firms to personally negotiate with Roger Mahony the settlement that resulted in $660 million dollars being awarded to the most aggrieved victims of horrific abuse. My husband Doug understands the value of empathy and knows that it is essential to treat every client with dignity. His mantra has always been “Everybody Counts or Nobody Counts”.
My husband advised me to communicate my dissatisfaction to Mr. Fiore directly. I proceeded to leave a message on his voicemail expecting a response. I received nothing. Not even a return phone call from Mr. Fiore. I never heard from Mauro Fiore or Yolanda Torres again. I called, and called, and left messages with the front desk, and on her voicemail, but to no avail.
Again after 3 months of therapy, I called to let her know that I was discharged from my therapy sessions and for her to start collecting my bills and start negotiations. November came, and I still had not received one phone call from her or the office. Finally my husband expressed how stunning it was that the Principal Attorney had never taken the time to answer my call. It was apparent that Mr. Fiore and Ms. Torres had no respect whatsoever for their own client (ME - his wife), and we both decided to go to the office unannounced to get some action. Shockingly, the front Office blamed us for their own lack of respect and one woman actually told us that “they did not care about our business”. It was then we found out that Ms. Torres no longer handled my case. Is it so hard to pick up the phone after hundreds of calls from her client to let me know that? She has no respect and knowledge of how to handle a client.
Finally, the only knowledgeable and trustworthy person stepped in at that time. This was Veronica Barraza. She was pleasant and kept her word. I believe she tried hard to get the best results for me.
Unfortunately, in the end, Mr. Fiore did not even have the class to apologize for anything or even introduce himself to me or my husband. The Office Staff displayed extreme ignorance when my husband mentioned that he was going to post a poor review of their performance on Avvo. Upon hearing the word “AVVO” they looked dumfounded and needed us to inform them about AVVO. They didn’t even know what you guys do. I wonder why Mauro Fiore’s employees leave so soon after they start.

I can only speak for Burton Mitchell, as I have not utilized the firm for other matters. Having gone through a few estate firms, Mr. Mitchell is the foremost expert and legal scholar in estate planning in So Calif. A prior firm not to be mentioned interviewed for a full page spread in the NYTs botched so much. Fame doesn’t equal knowledge. I switched and am forever grateful. Knowing Mr Mitchell’s character, he would NOT associate with other attorneys unless they are of similar aptitude. Legal matters, always tortuous. Judges or jurors decide whimsically especially in California. Any disgruntled matter should be directed to the TRIAR OF FACT, not councils regardless of firm, that has to deal with oftentimes a disinterested jury pool. That is a variable no one has control over. My overall observation, reasonably priced TOP NOTCH FIRM. From one high level professional to another, different fields but astute observer. I has assumed my daughter would get advice and assurance when we hired Ron it’s seems these days he so busy he can barely return phone calls or emails. Have had two appointments by phone both of which I had to call because he apparently was running late. My daughter has been left without communication and a timeline we have spend our retainer and nothing has been finalized and have no direction as to how this might end. Frustrated and sorry my daughter retained Ron when he is so busy with his other cases. We hired him expecting advice assurance and resolution. Still waiting in limbo. He’s a nice man and other reviews appreciate his skills . I had hope for similar experiences.

Ron Marquez was assign by the court to be the Child's Advocate Attorney for my 2 pre-teen kids. This was a heavily litigated case over the past 2.5 years. Ron barley glanced at the court files and spent less than 20 minutes with my children.
On the date of the trial Ron was reprimanded multiple times by the judge for not knowing the details of the case. Ron simply wanted to maintain a 50/50 custody timeshare. Ron made no attempt to represent the wants or needs of the children he was hired to advocate for.
At the end of the trial the judge relieved him of his duties involving the case.
I have seen many child custody cases of the years and Ron was the least prepared and knowledgeable lawyer I have seen to date. He was unconcerned for the wants and needs of the children he was suppose to represent.

Mr. Marquez seemed to have the right things to say but it was obvious that he takes the short road to end a case. Frivolous meetings, expensive email and phone charges and change of venue at court time make it very expensive and fruitless. He did not support the case when it was court time, manipulating his client with nonsense and pressuring his client to settle in the opposing clients agenda. Attempts to talk to his boss or anyone in his office was impossible, no return calls or emails to resolve this issue. He also has a pending issue with the CA State Bar that he did not disclose.

Mr. Calderone handled a complicated personal injury case for me. I lived rather far away, and it was helpful that he agreed to work mostly by phone. He was always polite, supportive and informative. I especially liked how he explained his strategy as we progressed; his passion for his work was obvious. Andrew was able to negotiate a large settlement and even went to the trouble of contacting creditors/lien holders to see if they would settle for less than I owed.

Muammar is alright, but isn’t the best personal injury attorney out there. Do your research and look around. He’s a somewhat new lawyer and slowly gaining experience. I retained him a few years ago, being a victim in a personal injury case, the evidence was clear for liability towards the opposing party, and there was a abundant paper trail of clear damages. He said before trial “this is a home run”, meaning it’s an easy win. Sadly, he couldn’t deliver results and wasn’t successful on the case and lost. All he said, “Wow that judge wasn’t good” Instead of taking responsibility, he deflected to the judge to blame and then never contacted me again. My case was a mere experiment to him and I was his guinea pig. I was left with medical bills, no financial gain, and no remorse or care towards the client. There are better lawyers out there; he’s not yet matured nor experienced. Maybe others have had better luck with him.

I think that Maumma Reed is an excellent attorney. However he kept $500.00 dollars to cover any other medical costs however I don’t owe anyone and I would like to get my money that is owed to me. Constant charges for useless communication. Every email with a miniscule update cost me a few hundred dollars. I am taking my ex back to court with a new lawyer and have some much better results coming forth. They were much more interested in passing the buck and going to the gym. 2 stars because he did come up with a decent idea about how to split alimony and child support. $40k+ for a two star result. I would check elsewhere before committing to this group.

I will not recommend him to anyone. The only time you received phone call from him is the first day, he promises to do above and beyond with same words ("by heart ")that he learn in law school to attract the client . He even tell you jis cell phine and tells you that the only person that can call him is his kids , his girlfriend and YOU. if for some emergency reason you call jim he gets upset ( i should of fire him that day ).I felt like nothing Nothing was done from attorney stand point . Very disappointed !!!! Even after the settlement still receive the bills from hospital , actually from collection company , so it means that job was not done properly .
