I'm opening with the statement: INCREDIBLE service, attention to detail, and follow up! I sustained injuries in a car accident where the other driver was at fault, and for the first time in my life I realized that I was going to need more than my own auto insurance company's assistance. Fortunately for me, I was referred to the team at GJEL Accident Attorneys as a starting point, and I didn't need to seek any other guidance after that. I completed a very quick and efficient phone call to explain my circumstances to the firm, and before I could blink I had received an email with clear and simple steps to take to begin the process. I was treated with kindness and compassion during a time when I had a lot of worries about the accident. They made me feel so at ease by advising that they would essentially take over all of the difficult correspondence that was already starting - whether it was my insurance company, the other driver's insurance company, hospital bill inquiries, etc, they handled it all immediately. Natalie was my 3rd family law attorney when she inherited my very sensitive and complicated family law case that had been ongoing for 2 years. She required little time to catch up and even less time to identify a path forward that set my mind at ease. With empathy for our journey up to that point, she made her first appearance and demonstrated that she would be a strong advocate for our minor child. Natalie has always been incredibly professional, as well as friendly and compassionate in every interaction. She consistently checked in and offered her experienced advice. After 1 and a half years of guiding our case, Natalie was able to get our family to a point of self-management, and our case moved out of the courts. Ms. Hollis and her team make you feel like you and your case are a priority. She is timely and well spoken. Common sense and dependability are what come to mind when I think of Natalie. There are many lawyers out there but a few will actually remember and invest time in your case. I’ve even had a lawyer forget my name while representing me in court and that same lawyer cost me more money in child support from a clerical error his staff made. I know that Natalie is there to step up for me and be an ally when the going gets tough. Her staff is right by her side to back her up. As a RN I advocate for my patients all the time. It’s nice to know that I have Natalie invested in advocating for my child. Family law is not a cakewalk, lots of emotions and unnecessary arguments are battled. I hired Anderson for my divorce. Anderson talked a big talk but was completely spineless when it came down to it. He rolled over at everything to the other attorney. He hardly spoke a word in court, giving the other attorney a field day to speak endlessly without rebuttal. He took about a month to answer some questions via email, even after repeated follow ups. He talk’s endlessly during 1:1 meetings that I had to constantly keep coming back to my original question or concern, costing you more money. His staff gave me the incorrect court date and learned about it the day of the actual court day, making a complete debacle out of the whole thing. His staff at times had a huffy attitude about edits I would ask them to make do to their mistakes. I ended up firing Anderson after sinking thousands of dollars and getting a way better attorney. Unfortunately, the damage to my case had already been made due to Anderson’s incompetence. He is a used car salesman. I should have met with more attorneys before hiring Anderson but I was under time pressure. AVOID!

I can't express in words how thankful I am to Michelle for her help. I initially wanted to settle everything on my own without assistance in order to save money, though my ex had a lawyer early on in the process (she initiated the divorce). I have had the honor of having Michelle Paul represent me for my custody, child support and restraining order cases over the course of the last 2 years. I hired Mr. Dedecker for a dependency court case and the odds were really stacked against me. He fought really hard and secured my innocence despite the county counsel being against me. He took my case and he was optimistic about it from the start. He really cares and it shows. First he was incredibly knowledgeable. From the first conversation I had with him until the last he was able to successfully explain to me the process of my legal problem and what he was going to do to help me. He was very responsive to all my calls and questions and enthusiastic each time I spoke with him. I was shocked that he answered his phone on a weekend and was willing to talk to me! I definitely needed a lot of support during my difficult time and he was able to put me at ease. If you want an attorney that cares to listen to your concerns and helps you understand the system. I would recommend you hire Mr. Dedecker.
If you find yourself or your family faced with allegations by social services, YOU MUST HIRE A GOOD ATTORNEY! Do not make the mistake of thinking that just because you are innocent things will “sort itself out”. After seeking paternal rights in three counties for two and a half years and two lousy lawyers I finally found Susan Witting. Susan and her great Paralegal Cindy went to work and did a excellent job preparing for court. Susan did an amazing job each time we went to court and kept me informed throughout the process. With Susan's help I finally have the shared legal and physical custody I have been seeking. Going through a complicated and scary divorce is not an easy process. My situation was incredibly complex and difficult. I was referred to ADZ through several sources and when I met Tulin I knew I had an advocate along with the protection and guidance needed to make it through what turned out to be almost 2-years of litigation. Her strength and expertise got me through. Her staff is top notch and equally as caring. My case was a personal one, not at a corporate level. Toby Bowler was recommended to us by many friends and acquaintances. We'd had SO many bad experiences with attorneys before, but we were put in a position to have to hire another one. What a pleasant experience! Instead of feeling that our representation was a joke, and that the money we'd spent was a complete waste, we felt he earned every dime! He acted quickly in our behalf, he was the only attorney we'd met who leveled with us. It was clear he wanted to help us, not just take our money. He also knows his way around the SB court system. I had a complicated case a few years ago, contacted a couple of attorneys in town who told me that winning a Bigamy case was almost impossible and didn’t think I had a chance of winning. I came across Cutler and Lax Law firm and when I called, I fell upon Mathew lax. After listening to me carefully & attentively, he explained my options and accepted to take my case despite its complexity. The proceedings lasted almost two years but with all its twists and turns especially with evidences found in a foreign country, Mathew stood firmly by me, was very knowledgeable about the law, was transparent/honest with me, very communicative and readily available on the phone/text to explain when I didn’t understand. He’s thorough, passionate about the law, is supportive and has compassion and understanding of his clients feelings and makes it comfortable to work with him. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!
He was paid in full and NEVER filed my response to my ex filing for divorce, even though I signed in his office a whole year prior. Now it's been 2 years into the process working together and he still hasn't filed?!?! Not only was that a huge fail - He can't mediate to save his life. If you are at an impasse in your divorce, he does not posses the tools to help you through it.
We stopped working with him and I hired an attorney who caught it immediately on the first phone consult. When I reached out Scott about it he ignored my question and told me, he has a system that works well and has many happy clients. (What does that have to do with him not performing the work he was paid for?) Total deflection.
An entire 2 years working with this man through the divorce process for nothing. Not only money wasted but time that I can't get back. I'm filing a complaint with the SDCBA, State Bar of California and filing a fee of dispute. $6k-$7k down the drain to accomplish nothing!

In a highly emotional and tense environment, Scott provided an environment where he supported the process by keeping us focused on the issues. Specifically, what I appreciated about Scott's approach was that he would explain what would typically happen in court, what would be arguable in court, what typically happens in mediation, and what were standard topics to be negotiated in mediation. Several times, we were close to moving away from mediation and going to court, which would have been an extreme waste of money in our case. Scott continuously tried to keep it on track to close out the process. I strongly recommend Scott as a mediator.

I am disgusted and appalled at this attorney's lack of empathy. Not only did he not warn us that he would not be appearing by our side in court, he was completely unprepared and stuttered over his words on speakerphone which allowed the opposing attorney to appear much more informed. Court did not go well for us and when we expressed that this may not be a good fit & we'd like some of the $5,000 we paid him, he told my husband (who is fighting for my stepson) "No wonder your son's mother hates you." He said this to a man who is on the verge of losing his child & gave away his entire savings to an attorney TRUSTING that he would represent him properly. Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS behavior.
