Mrs. Mendez helped our family obtain full custody and finalize our step-parent adoption. Mrs. Mendez was there for us every step of the way. Mrs. Mendez took the case when my daughter was born, helped me obtain DNA, visiting rights, we build a case against my ex and with time we were able to obtain full custody, terminate her rights, and finalize the step-parent adoption. Mrs. Mendez is straight forward and was always present at every court hearing. Mrs. Mendez kept us informed through the whole process by phone calls, meetings, emails, and was able to answer all of our questions. We will continue to use Mrs. Mendez services in case we have any issues in the future.

I was caught totally by surprise with my divorce. I met Mrs. Mendez on recommendation from another attorney's secretary & I wondered why! I soon found out why she was so highly recommended to me.
My ex was financially backed by her wealthy family and there high priced attorney. Mrs. Mendez immediately secured my rights and put my divorce on a level playing field. Mrs. Mendez has her own office which I appreciated because she gives full attention to her cases, not other attorney's cases as was the situation I had to deal with at another firm!
Mrs. Mendez litigated a fair settlement for me in the divorce. She fought hard to make sure that I was awarded almost 50% custody of my 2 children and she went back to court for me to have my child support reduced to a very reasonable amount! If anything ever occurs with my ex in the future, I'm going right back to Mrs. Mendez.

We hired Britney Malpiede to prepare and litigate in Family Court on two occasions. She arrived prepared with full knowledge of the scope of our complex situation and was able condense our argument into simple rational terms for the court, which she articulated with great skill and respect. Defending us during a short Ex Parte hearing, Brit was able to to completely change our Judge's initial bias by convincing the Judge to take recess and read the strong declaration with evidence she prepared. After which I was awarded Joint Legal Custody. Brit is both professional and empathetic; she gives advise based on experience and careful investigation. Brit showed she clearly has good standing/ reputation with the San Diego Court. This matters a great deal. When she spoke, the Judge listened. I couldn't not say the same for the other party's aggressive counsel. If you are searching for an attorney, look no further. You are in good hands with Britney Malpiede.

If you are involved in a family law case I couldn’t stress the importance of a good lawyer enough. I talked to, and was disappointed by several Family Law offices before meeting Ms. Malpiede back in 2014. When she began working on my case I was in a really bad place in terms of being able to see my kids. Ms. Malpiede always conducted herself professionally and had the foresight to help me “go high” when the opposing party “went low” and to always put the children first. Ms, Malpiede went up against my ex's attorney who's slogan was " When the rings come off, the gloves do too!" She remained professional, maintained her cool and ultimately stayed (professionaly, I might add) the course to achieve the best result to my case. She is knowledgeable about military divorce(which mine was), compassionate and supportive throughout the entire process, even though I was an ex-wife who hadn't worked in four years, was blindsided by this process and she explained everything to me, this helped me SO MUCH and for which I remain eternally grateful!! Thanks to Mr. Kearney and his team's efforts, today I have 80% custody of my 14-year-old son and I'm very happy with the divorce settlement.

Coronado Unified School District revoked my disabled sons interdistrict transfer with 5 weeks left in the 23-24 school year because of his behavior (a direct manifestation of his disability). They were unable to support him effectively and apparently thought effectively kicking him out was easier. Jennifer Holtzman was an absolute treasure in bringing this to the school district and we were ultimately successful and settled. While the district doesn't "admit guilt" through a settlement, I hope they understand that what they did was disgusting at best. Very thankful to have the Law Office of Matthew Storey on our side.

He asked the judge for breaks to talk to me and the other party then started to make request on behalf of the other party. I wish I knew Iim advance he would be of no assistance, money down the drain. The other party made false allegations and scheduled an emergency hearing under false pretenses. she was my former attorney, and I fired her after acted against my will three time on the same issue. I have serious reservations about her competence and ethical conduct:
1. She ignored and acted against my will not once, not twice, but three times on the same issue. I didn’t feel like I was respected at all. She failed to communicate her strategy and get my consent, which I think is to the purpose of maximizing her billing hours.
2. Her oversight delayed my case for a month. I told her the other party’s translation was not done by a court-certified translator twice, one time via phone, one time via email. she just ignored it. When the judge asked her if she knew that, she said she didn’t. I don’t know if she perjured herself or she didn’t remember. The result is that I had to wait a month for the other party to get the translation done by court-certified translator.
3. I believe Ms. Eyre knew the court wouldn't grant spousal support and attorney's fee while the jurisdiction hasn't been determined, the best option for me was to continue the hearing until the jurisdiction is determined. But instead she deliberately found a case law that’s obviously irrelevant to jurisdiction and pretended that I had a chance so that she could argue in court to maximize her billing hours. In re Marriage of Knox, 83 Cal.App.5th 15 (2022), the case law she used, has no bearing on jurisdiction. I think this action resulted in a Breach of Duty. If she argues that that’s not her intention, then she is incompetent to see that the case law had no bearing on jurisdiction. I consulted multiple lawyers, they all told me every lawyer knows the court wouldn't grant any financial relief while the jurisdiction hasn't been determined, this is taught in the first year of law school I felt deeply wronged upon learning this. I knew lawyers could be greedy, but I thought she'd go easy on me because I told her I couldn’t get a job due to my immigrant status and had taken a loan to fund the lawsuit.
I strongly advise against considering her for your legal needs.
