I had the unfortunate experience of meeting this attorney. She promises to mediate but instead facilitates separation of child and parent. If you are African , Nigerian or Muslim, or Latin she’ll help you. She promotes men not paying child support and father’s rights so women watch out . Surprisingly, coming from a woman with four daughters that she would separate children from their parents and promote that. She also didn’t catch a fraudulent document filed with. Run if you come across this woman.

I have never had a run-in with the law, so facing felony charges--I felt like my life was ruined. Chad Crowl was not only responsive (because I called often, and he made sure to give me a call back--even if there was nothing to report), but he was very reassuring and understanding. He listed out all of my possible outcomes in a way I could understand from worst case to best case and the likelihood of each. Luckily, I was granted terms for dismissal. And with that process, he handled everything in a VERY timely manner. I am forever grateful!

Though most of these reviews are good I am unfortunately going to be the one to break that mold. This woman is an absolute nut-case. Linda Marshall represented our former landlord in a SMALL CLAIMS dispute regarding our deposit (this by the way is an area of law Linda knows absolutely NOTHING about and she proved that lack of knowledge while in court). Prior to the court case (which she delayed time and time again for a year and a half), it was settled via a mediator for a sum to be paid back to us by the landlord. This was after she concocted bogus charges of over $10,000 (an amount of money the Small Claims division does not even deal with). The landlord was ordered to pay within 10-days. On the 10th day the money was received; however, due to my grandmother's illness we had to be back in our home state when the money arrived. Upon our return the money was deposited and a letter drafted for the court and sent. This was obviously NOT within Linda's perceived timeframe because she has proceeded to file a motion demanding $700 for her time to contact the court. A decision made solely by her and NOT her client as he confirmed. I will spend as much of my personal time as it takes letting as many people throughout Houston know about her tactics. Family law??? I wouldn't let my family within 500 yards of this woman...
Last, and this is important for anyone considering hiring Linda, she milks her clients for as much money as she possibly can. She has drained our former landlord to a point that I actually feel sorry for him. She has also taken complete advantage of his lack of knowledge of American laws further draining him of his finances.

Ms. Marshall is nothing short of a rare gem in the world of family law attorneys. I have worked with other attorneys, many of whom very well known, and have excellent reviews, but Ms. Marshall still stands apart due to many reasons: Intelligence, creativity in finding solutions, trustworthiness, and honesty that I have not seen before. She is very detailed oriented, and very sharp in grasping the full picture and dynamics of the relationship. Her creativity is outstanding, and shows well when providing solutions that many other attorneys I consulted with have not even thought of. If you are in an abusive relationship, look no further! She will listen, understand, and figure out how to deal with abusers. But most importantly, she helps others, while expecting nothing in return !! That only speaks for itself.

Unfortunately, I've had a long and trying custody battle over a stretch of 10 plus years. I've dealt with a handful of attorneys over that time and Clint is far and away the best. He's understanding, direct, competent, and sincere. That last one is really a breath of fresh air. Mr. Lawson is currently working to help me get my daughter back (I'm the Managing Conservator) from the other parent who did not return her to me after Spring Break. I'm not sure where I'd be without his guidance.

Clint did not want to hear about a civil settlement with my spouse. He only cared about what he could use to hurt my spouse. While I want to divorce my spouse, I don’t want to run him down because we have minor children. Clint was not concerned with my children.

Yasmine and Debbie represented me in my child custody case against my former spouse last year. Yasmine represented me fiercely in the courtroom and Debbie is an outmatched paralegal who exude professionalism. I was most impressed with Debbie's high level of communication regarding my case.
I had zero communication with my daughter for over nine months. Yasmine was able to get me immediate access to my child from the court even before the court officially heard the case via a band-aid order. I, now, have an ironclad order that I pray will prevent my child's mother from ever withholding her again. Yasmine and Debbie gave me my life back and for that I will be forever grateful.

Von Miller law office was outstanding!!! Top notch in my opinion. They were there every step of the way through my divorce. Ben Turner is without a doubt the attorney you want in your corner if you find yourself facing legal issues in Johnson County.
His office, including his staff, was extremely professional during this daunting experience. Mr. Turner and his legal assistant Jackie were both straight shooters, always straight up and consistent in their efforts to defend me in a serious matter, ultimately resulting in a successful disposition that gave my life back- with my career, employment and record intact.
Mr. Turner stayed on top of my case every step of the way and was able to resolve a serious charge to our complete satisfaction and utter relief.
He went above and beyond to fight for me; he let me know what was expected of me, and took the time to review my entire history, which I truly appreciated, especially when he acknowledged my efforts to comply with the court orders, using any and all positive facts to negotiate the outcome we prayed for.. he didn’t brush through the personal details as some attorneys are known to do. Mr. Turner was keen, sharp, clearly wanting to be fully informed and using everything he could to present my case in the best light- a true advocate, skilled at building the best legal case.
I would recommend Ben to anyone whether it’s a low misdemeanor or a serious felony. He is a highly intelligent, attentive attorney with upstanding character- always honest and genuine; it became apparent to me that he truly cares about his clients.

Ben was recommended to me by a friend who had decent luck with him while facing drug charges. I thought “I don’t know any lasers and this one was recommended. I’ll call him up!”
Ben was informed that my case was serious and I had people who were trying to make things worse for my case. He didn’t care, meanwhile, they were talking to the Assistant DA in Hill County and making things worse for my case. He never showed me a lick of evidence and he basically told me to sign a plea deal based on no other information. Good kid, never been in trouble. Trusted this lazy lawyer with abandon (he REALLY started slacking after we realized that we had already paid him in full). Don’t go to him for legal especially not in Hill County. He is not known or respected there and looks like a lost puppy in the court.

I never do reviews but I wish my husband and I would have been warned before hiring this firm. Mr. Craig is a very nice person and told us exactly what we wanted to hear on day one. After we paid him that was it. Nothing was done on our child custody case for a solid year! No return phones call or emails and we tried both. Our last trip to court which was 2 months shy of 2 years calling and begging for him to do something. Finally we went to court and the judge ruled the next day and neither him or his office called to relay the judges decision. The other parent in the custody suit told us the judge’s ruling. It’s been 2 weeks now and still no call nor email. This is the worst firm I’ve ever had dealings with. Go with a different attorney.

I hope folks read this before anyone makes the grave mistake of hiring this firm before shopping around, like my in-laws did. I’m not an attorney in Texas, but I am an attorney in another state, and I can say that what has been described to me about this firm is egregious.
First, they seem to have a paralegal who doesn’t understand that she’s not a lawyer (despite the fact that she’s apparently never been to law school and is not a member of the Bar) and she may be engaging in the unauthorized practice of law.
Next, this firm doesn’t appear to do the bare minimum right out of the gate in civil dependency cases or family law cases, such as ensuring visitation with children.
Last, but most certainly not least, it appears they take cases they’re not even remotely competent to handle, such as felony criminal defense cases. If true, this would be a violation of the ethical obligation lawyers have to provide competent representation. This firm, by all appearances, cares only about collecting your money and not about actually advocating for their clients.
If you need an excellent criminal defense lawyer, talk to Cofer & Luster.
Even if these Tumo Law people do have some experience, it doesn’t look like they’re any good. If you need a family law attorney, you may want to shop around if you care to have high-quality representation.

I wish I had a rave review to leave. I hired Tyler at a very challenging time in my life. After talking, hiring and telling him what I was wanting to accomplish in my custody battle and what I already had custody wise going in was nothing compared to what I got coming out. I got less than I initially had to begin with all because I trusted someone that was more knowledgeably than I on the issue. Please know exactly what your signing for in depth before you sign because I didn't and now I'm stuck for a year with my current orders and cant do a thing to get it modified now that I know exactly what they mean. Extremely slow on preparing and filing for a case. Very expensive was being charged $100 per text message that went to her paralegal. When it came time for the case she was to busy and had to pass my case off to another lawyer. With other lawyer we basically had to start all over as she was not involved or familiar with my case from the beginning. All of this was being charged to me so it was like I had to pay for two lawyers. When the court date finally arrived the new lawyer which was Miss Day appointed by Miss Cruz was very unknowledgeable and the case was thrown out. I wouldn’t hire either of them two as all they do is try and drag it out as long as possible to be able to charge you more hours.

I typically don’t type reviews however, as a Family Lawyer you would have thought Nadia Stewart would care more or even showed interest in helping. Nadia did none the sort, as a matter of fact, she was quite rude when I called to obtain assistance. I am an ARAG member who was provided Nadia’s name as a Lawyer- she seems very knowledgeable and I was excited to reach out her. Once she answered that phone my first impression and excitement went down the drain. Not quite sure the reason why she was being so rude or if she was having a bad day- absolutely no excuse; Nadia wouldn’t let me get a word out edge wise. Long story short, she wasn’t interested in hearing what I needed for a petition my daughter received. I made her aware of the situation at hand and she stated “first of all I charge a $4k retainer fee/$200+ an hour fee and in my past experience ARAG family members cannot be represented”. She didn’t even look at what my ARAG membership consisted of and showed absolutely no interest in wanting to represent my daughter. Regardless of an ARAG member or not show some dignity when someone is willing to pay the money for a lawyer. End result she wasn’t hired and doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

I had seen Nadia work in several different legal cases and had admired her legal knowledge and abilities. I've seen her fight tirelessly for other clients to a successful outcome. I would be in awe of how humble she was after she had beaten much larger groups in court. Anyone in her position should have been screaming to the world about how awesome they were. Nadia would just act like what she just pulled off was an everyday event.
So when it came time for me to find a lawyer, Nadia was the first person I called. Divorce is never easy, even if it's a mutual, amicable divorce. It was at this moment I learned that not only did Nadia have a great legal mind, but she was extremely compassionate to her clients. She's able to fight for what was right, while also showing how much she truly cared. I honestly don't think I could have made it through this difficult time without her guidance. Thanks Nadia.

Nadia Stewart was my counsel when I was accused of a crime. She had no advice for me, and told me not to press the issue or I'd probably be arrested. She asked absolutely NOTHING about my case from me, and totally supported the opposition, costing me my career, even though the investigators/prosecution could NOT have the evidence they hinted at having because it did not/could not exist. Not once did she speak on my behalf, listen to what I had to say, and did not believe me. To add insult to injury, she actually spoke out on BEHALF of the other side during a disciplinary hearing when I was terminated. She told my supervisor (who terminated me) she appreciated meeting with him and looked forward to seeing the supervisor in the future and that she was pleased with the new disciplinary policy. I thought an attorney was paid to fight for you, but I guess I just wasn't able to afford REAL representation that would speak up for me rather than just treading water, collecting a paycheck, and kissing up to the opposition instead of backing her client. Before she was assigned to my case, I had another attorney assigned to it, and within 12 hours, he did more work than she ever did in three months.
She will make grand promises, "I know that investigator, she'll tell me what the details are." "They have had the case for five months so far and didn't do anything, this will probably just go away.", all her professional "insight" and inside information won't help you, because she is (or was) just busy making friends at the cost of her clients. She is useless.

I hired Mr. Widner as my attorney recently when I was fighting for custody of my son during a messy divorce. Mr. Widner was affordable and consulted with me countless times throughout the process. His senior paralegal, Mrs. Adams, was phenomenal. She was very responsive and reassuring because she could relate to my situation. I panicked a few times when I didn't get a response as quickly as I wanted but they never took a day off from handling my case. All in all I was granted my divorce and obtained custody of my son. I couldn't be more pleased.

I was divorcing my ex husband in 2006 due to emotional and physical abuse along with adultery. I was seeking sole custody of my children due to my husband's drug and alcohol addiction, and the physical abuse/neglect. I was told that it was impossible for me to get sole custody even with my medical records as proof. Ms. Stroh did not even show up to court, charged me $5000.00 and then harassed me saying that I still owed even more money. FOR WHAT??? Two years later I went back to court on my own, without counsel, and I walked away with more child support AND SOLE CUSTODY! Thanks for endangering my children's safety for two years and the mental damage it did to me and them. Worst attorney ever.

I interviewed five attorneys before I decided on Andrea. She was very professional, and was always very accessable. Anytime I called or emailed her, it was returned promptly.
She didn't give me any unrealistic expectations like some attorneys try to sell you in order to get that retainer. I had a lying, cheating, drug adtick wife that had been in an out of Green Oaks Mental Hospital 5 times in the last 14 months we were together. She also managed to get arrested a few days after I left for forging a prescription.
I ended up with everything I wanted, which was my retirement that I had workded so hard for and that my ex didn't deserve.

**DO NOT** hire this Law Firm, they are thieves, they lie lie lie to get you to retain them using the fakest sympathy for your divorce issues and later continue to lie and rob you. My attorney Brooke Irey from this firm refused to represent me claiming I agreed to her withdrawal, however a judge has never approved that withdrawal. She got me locked out of my home that I have exclusive rights to until it sells. She risked mine and my sons lives to date by not writing up and delivering the judges orders Overall sneaky grimy shady business. All this because 7500.00 was not enought to write up a judges court order from 07/2023 according to her. That was not part of the 75000.00

I notice that the three one-star reviews are all from the same disgruntled "gentleman"....perhaps in an effort to reduce the average rating??? Ignore that toxic drivel. Kristina is not only a highly experienced, well respected, and hard working attorney but also a dedicated advocate for children's health and just an awesome human being. She had my abusive, narcissistic ex's number from the get go and she was intelligent enough to box him in to a trap of his own making in the jury trial *he* insisted on having. I'm so grateful to her that Iiterally say prayers for her and her whole family every year on the anniversary of my freedom from that monster. Fifteen years out now and I still recommend her to anyone that even hints at needing an attorney. If you're reading this, I guess you're in a difficult place in your life and I wish you blessings. I would not recommend anyone in Texas to hire Kristina Lucas to defend them or their children. She did not take in to consideration any manipulation that was being done to the kids by their father or what was in the best interest of the kids. Our case was not handled in a professional manner.

Very unprofessional. Almost feels like a side hustle for Mrs. Lucas. Over a period of MONTHS she spent what seemed to be a few hours working my case. Her "recommendation" was the result of very little actual research and seemed to be based on a whim at the last minute. Would not recommend. There are others who are much more devoted and willing to actually work to understand a situation and arrive at a genuine conclusion.

I have worked with Justin for over 10 years now and trust him implicitly with all of my personal and business matters. He's not only an excellent lawyer, but a great person as well who truly has your best interest at heart. He has handled all kinds of issues for me including law suits, negotiations, contracts, estate planning, and more, and his results are always spectacular and effective. I hired this lady and Mr Wilson. They both worked together, advertised they both had experience in family law. Yet she had zero experience. Ruined my life and my families life. I lost my job after 30 yrs of experience for taking her advice. She advertised she has family law experience. She isgay, has no experience in families and even admitted to me she had none after ruining my family by giving bogus information. Use this lawyer and you may end up screwed like I was.

I do not know how this attorney manages to have any positive reviews. I was referred to her by a friend to handle my divorce. She was extremely unprofessional from the start including implying she had her own firm & office. She works out of a small leased business office space & rents rooms at other buildings to hold meetings in cities she actually has no presence in yet advertises that she supports. She has no staff but occasionally brings in a rent-a-lawyer on the cheap to assist her with paperwork she doesn’t want to handle.
She must be extremely successful as a gadfly & social butterfly in Republican circles, SMU alumni circles, various women’s clubs & bar associations. Yet she ran for judge as a Democrat. That’s about how loyal she can be.
She was late to every meeting we had except the first one & frequently rescheduled important milestone appointments. Christy was never prepared. As a rule she waited until the night before to prepare for a court date, hearing, trial, etc. Her appearances performances in court were absolutely abysmal & although she billed me a lot of money she was a complete failure representing my interests. As she has no office support, I did an enormous amount of paperwork, typing, creating documents & trying to get her to set agendas, goals, lists of issues & due-by dates for action items- to no avail. She is lazy. She put the least amount of effort into work although she billed extraordinary rates.
She unethically collaborated with the opposing law firm, where she was once an employee & went behind the scenes to speak to opposing counsel & delay progress. It is ridiculous that she practices law.

Mr. Griffin seemed to be a very knowledgable attorney, however I would never know because nothing ever really got done with my case. My ex was pro-se and Mr. Griffin still let the case drag on for months, all the while ramping up the bill. I ended up having to get another attorney to get the job done.

**DO NOT** hire this Law Firm, they are thieves, they lie lie lie to get you to retain them using the fakest sympathy for your divorce issues and later continue to lie and rob you. My attorney Brooke Irey from this firm refused to represent me claiming I agreed to her withdrawal, however a judge has never approved that withdrawal. She got me locked out of my home that I have exclusive rights to until it sells. She risked mine and my sons lives to date by not writing up and delivering the judges orders Overall sneaky grimy shady business. All this because 7500.00 was not enought to write up a judges court order from 07/2023 according to her. That was not part of the 75000.00

I’ve unfortunately had Judge Peake preside over my case since 2019, and after six years, I can confidently say she is the least competent judge I’ve ever encountered. My divorce dragged on for over four years, and due to her unclear and inconsistent orders, we’re now back in court for a modification.She frequently dismisses motions based on inaccurate or misleading information and doesn't even take the time to review her own docket. We've shown up to court multiple times, incurring significant costs, only for her to ignore our motions and rule on unrelated issues instead.
Judge Peake is biased, dismissive, and often downright disrespectful. She has dismissed serious abuse claims with little to no consideration, and makes insensitive comments that undermine the very people and families she's sworn to protect.
Her approach seems to be to give one parent full custody, often disregarding the child’s best interests and refusing to consider co-parenting solutions. How is that acceptable?
Her slogan claims to review cases timely and bring fairness to families, but in practice, it’s the exact opposite. And I know I’m not alone. There are so many families being failed by her, and it’s time to speak up.
A judge like this should not be on the bench. She’s abusing her power and causing real harm to families in the process. We need to make sure our voices are heard and our votes count. She has no place in the courtroom—she needs to be removed from a position where she can continue to wreck havoc on people’s lives.

Kay's office was highly proficient at obtaining the upfront retainer fees and ongoing high legal fees. They were timely in submitting paperwork. In the end, Kay provided little value beyond what a paralegal could have done, or a discount law office doing family law. When it was time to go before the judge, she had done no research on who would be hearing the case. She told me that she had prepared for a different judge, and now we were unlikely to win. She was correct. If you simply need paperwork filed on time, Kay seems like an expensive person to do this. If you need well-researched legal assistance, you should seek it elsewhere.

My ex wife and I had a custody order that not even four months old when Kay helped me file for temporary custody under emergency circumstances. Needless to say she was like a brick wall, anything they tried to overturn the order was denied. We ended up coming to an agreement for 50/50 custody. She worked with me so I could afford her services and took my case on at a moment's notice. If wasn't for her services, knowledge and compassion my kids would still be stuck in the position that they were previously in.
