Debra Mehaffie and her law farm is very unstable. Two attorneys quit in a matter of one month. There is no professionalism and Debra talks over you. There is no accountability. Do not hire this law firm to represent you in any matter. She is also money hungry and the billing department is not correct when sending statements. If I could recommend a 0 it would be negative 0. The treatment and tone of emails from this law firm and Debra Mehaffie herself is disrespectful in so many ways.

I retained Lance Nelson as my divorce attorney a little over a year ago. Throughout the year he provided me with complete feedback on a regular basis and represented me very well. His staff went above and beyond! My divorce was final in November of this past year and everything turned out successfully With a reasonable settlement, I can’t recommend Lance highly highly enough. He’s outstanding in every way and beyond reproach .I would recommend them to anyone who is in the unfortunate situation of going through a divorce.

I highly suspect the 5 star reviews are fake. They keep you in the dark, hold internal meetings without your awareness and make decisions without your input or knowledge (only to learn about it at the next billing cycle) and are very, very difficult to get hold of. Almost all emails are met with out of office replies and no voicemails ever responded to. When a status hearing I did not know existed was extended by my attorney without my knowledge (only to learn this in the next billing cycle) and saw my attorney had answers to interrogatories for nearly a month without telling me only to discover this from OJS = you're fired. OJS literally laughed and smiled... like yeah good luck with that, seemed par for the course. Not to mention a strong, positive person for my case was not contacted three separate times my lawyer told me he would, only for him to say when I finally called him out that he didn't think he was important, is more than messed up, it's unethical = you're fired. Didn't trust me, and didn't even contact the person... so how would you know? That's just a small piece. I highly do not recommend this "law" firm.

Our experience with Ms. Laskowitz was exceptional. She was very professional, brought clarity to our discussions and was accessible. She treated us with fairness and understanding. She listened and advised with integrity a strategic plan for our complex case while she and her team worked in a timely manner to execute and connect with the necessary parties. She was empathetic to our financial situation and was gracious with our cost and time spent on our case.
Our only wish was that the outcome would have been in our favor at our initial attempt, which wasn't due to her lack of trying. We will continue to work with her throughout this custody process. We are grateful for her willingness to see this through with us.

What really made Jill Laskowitz stand out was her incredible patience. In a field where time is super important and stress levels can be high, Jill stayed calm and patient. Went with my newly married grandson, his wife, my son, his wife and little girl, another grandson( that takes his dates there) my daughter and myself. Orders were across the board and all were excellent. My son and family are going to add this place to one of their regular favorites. They eat out at least 3 times a week

Started off promising the case he was hired for was simple and straight forward. Communication was non existent no response to emails or phone messages. 90% of the time there was no answer from anyone at his office. In the end had to hire another lawyer.

I’ve referred clients to Alicia Fastman over the years that were in need of a family law attorney. I’m a lawyer, but don’t practice family law so when I need a referral in that area Alicia is my go-to. She’s personable, attentive and respected among other lawyers in the area. I’ve seen Alicia use a collaborative approach but also go to war depending on the client’s needs and wants. I would not hesitate to call Alicia for all your divorce/custody needs. Dan Glasser isn't a good lawyer. I do NOT recommend him. He wasn't prepared for the trial. He yells at his own clients during the trial in front of everyone. He is very arrogant and thus isn't very effective lawyer. When you first talk to him, he presents himself as a very good lawyer but very soon you'll realize that it's just a show and in reality he isn't good.

We got an appointment with Mr. Glasser one week after I called. He was very thorough and told us what to expect as well as how we were going proceed. He took down all the information about the case and told us the cost of his retainer. Once he received the retainer, he got right on the case and everything was filed at courts within a week. He take such good care of their clients.

Meghan not only helped represent me in an ugly custody battle once but twice. After many google searches, and endless phone calls with other lawyers, literally about to give up hope, Karen Reynolds family law popped up on google. Let me preach about Karen and our story for a moment; because I will forever swear by Karen Reynolds. She is the most patient, kindhearted, attentive, thorough lawyer we have had the pleasure of working with. My fiancé has had an ongoing uphill custody battle with the mother of his child. Not only would the mother not let the child see his father; but she wouldn’t even allow a simple phone call for Father’s Day. Or a call on his birthday. because a “5yr old boy has just such a busy schedule; there was no time or room to fit in dad.”That is what the mother told the father in many messages. From the countless messages of him begging to just speak with his son. Sadly, I hopelessly watched the man who I love and admire for his strength and resilience crumble and break. this woman singlehandedly, who he once loved, vowed to spend the rest of his life with; the same woman who he created a beautiful little boy with destroyed any hope he had of ever seeing his child again. The same man who I 1000 percent trust with my 3 boys, wasn’t allowed to even speak to his child. The mother ripped even his legal rights away. Finally my fiancé listened to me, and went against his “better” judgment. (He’s had really bad luck in the past with previous lawyers.). we saved for the lawyer, and in March met with Karen. We told her his story. She listened and was very very thorough with the history, paperwork, and attentiveness to the matter. There wasn’t a time of day Karen didn’t respond to a call or email. Karen saw my fiancé is not a bad person. He is not an evil man he was made to look like. And he was NOT abusive or controlling in the ways he was portrayed. He was a stay at home daddy that devoted himself to his son. Then was turned into the manipulative angry violent monster. He was not perfect. He had an addiction that stemmed from his time in the marines. But he got clean 3yrs ago; and has been clean ever since. Ultimately, he was not that person he was made out to be;In fact Karen saw his kind heart, his emotionally charged unconditional love for his son; difficulty in swallowing his pride to let Karen take control. Almost a 9mths since my fiancé last saw his child; months of back and forth emails, phone calls, consolidations, court hearings, piles and piles of paperwork. Karen’s motherly frustrations, patience, and instinct with my fiancé was award winning to say the least. With every bump Along the way, she never gave up on my fiancé; she never told him it was impossible. Actually, she told him it was inevitable; he was going to see his son again. At some points my fiancé started to lose hope. But between Karen and myself, we kept him fighting. Now, my fiancé gets every other weekend with his child. He has his legal rights back; which shouldn’t have been taken to begin with. He can show up to his extra curricular activities. He can FaceTime with his son privately. His son finally gets to meet his step brothers that he has been hearing on those calls. He gets holidays. He gets to be apart of his child life again... all thanks to Karen. Karen made the impossible, possible again. We still call on her for the most minuscule things; because the mother makes it absolutely impossible to work with. But again, Karen is still right there, sending email after email. We couldn’t be any more grateful for her. trust me, our battle isn’t over yet. She will also be handling his divorce, too.
If you want a welcoming, kindhearted, assertive “shark” lawyer who is has an abundance of knowledge. who is very well educated in family law, and will help with the financial aspect the best she can; Karen Reynolds is without a doubt the best family lawyer Throughout Chester and Montgomery county. i swear she is worth every penny. (Karen, we cant say thank you enough.). The coffee at the office was the cherry on top.

Do not use this firm. They held money in escrow (in the $100s of thousands) for a domestic relations suit. However, they will now not releases the money according to the settlement Award and will not cooperate in distributing the funds. Now, I have to take further legal action against them to get my own money back. So unethical, unprofessional, and perhaps illegal....

Jordan represents me in a contentious custody matter. The Delaware County court system is prejudicial to those without legal council. When it comes to the safety and welfare of the child it best to have great representation. Jordan has a good relationship with the hearing officer's, judges and lawyers. She is articulate, logical and passionate. These qualities are necessary when navigating the family court system. In my experience dealing with a obnoxious opposing council and a vengeful, narcissistic ex partner Jordan has no qualms about being cutthroat. Jordan has made my life easier with dealing with unnecessary litigation abuse. In my case I had to make stressful financial choices in order to have the best representation, Jordan was so kind and help me out financially and still preformed at her highest caliber. Throughout my two year custody battle the only thing I regret is not finding Jordan from the very beginning. If you are a loving, caring parent who is honest about themselves and your situation, wants what's best for your children, or is dealing with a difficult ex-partner this is the lawyer you need. In the Delaware County court system you will need a lawyer who isn't apart of the good ole boys club and can't be gaslit or manipulated. Go with Jordan she's your best bet.

2016 my life was changed forever if I knew you can right reviews I would have done this sooner. I was introduced to Jordan by a friend after being arrested and my rights violated.i had all evidence to clear my name even a credible witness that could have clear my name. She looked at me and said “you got it all figured out”. Not telling me she doesn’t specialize in criminal cases or anything in that manner. Instead took at-least 3000 dollars of payment from me. She didn’t show evidence or allow my witness to speak at all she never even followed any of my directions as she worked for me my witness and the person who car I had both came to every court case and she did not mention them in court. My case was pushed all the way to pretrial with no effort in fighting my case. I tried to get a new attorney before my guilty plea they would not take my case on instead they informed her of it instead and she berated me in a telephone call afterwards. She gave me no option but to plead guilty when I told her I was innocent. When the judge ask am I sure I want to plead guilty which I didn’t she tapped me and said don’t say anything. I received a 6 month jail sentence 6 months house arrest 5 years probation and a felony guilty plea. Now I have fight to get a governor pardon which is slim to none. She ruined my life as I fight to recover from bad professional advice that at the time I didn’t know she is required to put me in the best position to win my case which she didn’t. I’m allow to post this anonymous but I want people to know my story I’m at peace but I will never forget what she done to me. Without a chance at a pardon my life Will always have financial burden because of my felony conviction. I wish I could sue for Negligence but she made sure I had all evidence destroyed even my evidence I gave her to fight my case.

My experience with this practice has been exceptional. Divorce is hard and everyone’s case is unique, but I think my case has some extraordinarily difficult circumstances. My attorney, Jacob, has gone above and beyond in dealing with some just plain weird developments. He keeps me fully informed and has shown remarkable patience and creativity in handling my case. I know, without any doubt, he has my best interest at heart and will do whatever it takes for me to have the best possible outcome. And everyone at the office is wonderful; friendly and helpful. They are a joy to interact with, and very professional as well. I just had my estate plan done here and Vicki was incredible in preparing everything and sorting all the paperwork when I came in to sign.

If you want to give thousands of your hard earned dollars to lawyers who will provide absolutely no service in exchange, this is the firm for you! Six months and the only attempt at any actual service was nullified by their inability to type an address correctly. If they deign to grace you with a reply to an email, it will only address the first sentence. If they actually answer their phone, you'll be treated to an empty promise of a call back.
You'd do better lighting your money on fire under the full moon than entrusting these scam artists.

Carolyn Anner, SS Disability Services, I can’t say enough good things about Ms Anner. She helped me receive disability after 3+ years. Ms. Anner was very professional and made me feel at ease. She guided me on what to do every time I received a new paper to fill out for Social Security. She told me to be honest about my struggles. She was the one who sent all the paperwork to Social Security. When I would get nervous about something, she would let me know what was happening. Even as we met before my hearing, she told me how the process went. Explaining how things go, put me at ease. She helped me more than I can say and am grateful for her knowledge of the process, from start to finish. She was a blessing for me and I am truly thankful that God sent her to help me. After 3 court hearings with pike county Cys and fighting to get my now 11mth old out of foster care and my 12 yr old back with me and my husband, we hired Matt. The very first hearing we had with him as our lawyer , my kids were at my grandfather's house that day and we had visitation whenever we wanted as long as my HOA was there. 4 mths later, my kids were returned home with me and my husband. I honestly don't think that without Matt this would have happened as quick as it did because Cys was really messing with us up until we hired a private lawyer. I can say best money ever spent. And we always got a response in a quick manner and was always available when needed. Thank you so much!!!!! Definitely worth it.

I switched to Susan in the midst of a very contentious divorce when I was looking for an attorney who was both well respected and who would also advocate more aggressively for my rights in the process. I am very happy with Susan and her advocacy on my behalf. She has helped make a complicated divorce process more understandable, and has made me feel like I gained back some control - as opposed to simply responding to a conflict-oriented ex spouse. All in all she has helped me successfully move on with my life, which is what we all hope for when deciding to divorce. Mr. Paletta has gone above and beyond for me from day one. While working as a nurse, I gave a patient a narcotic, but forgot to sign in the computer that I had administered it, eventhough I had signed it out of the book, I was fired and charged with theft. I was referred to a criminal attorney, he wasn't familiar with the nursing board and long story short, unintentionally, made the situation worse, at that point, the state board suspended my license. That attorney then referred me to Mr. Paletta. Frankly, at that time, I had no faith in attorneys and wasn't really interested in hiring another one. But, I made the phone call. From the moment he answered the phone, Mr. Paletta put me at ease, he is extremely knowledgeable, especially when it pertains to medical and nursing licenses and the boards, he's compassionate, kind-hearted, and a truly good, and noble person. He worked with me on a payment plan I was able to do, he went to work immediately on my case, and frankly, my license was returned to me far quicker than I thought would be possible. He's very responsive, he explains things thoroughly but doesn't talk down to his clients. He made me feel "heard" at a time when I had just about given up hope. I would recommend him to anyone, he truly is the best there is. I have a matter in family court and Mr. Paletta not only recommended a family attorney but he made adjustments in my payment plan to facilitate my being able to retain her, i dont know of any other professional who would do that, his kindness has restored my faith in people. I can't recommend Mr. Paletta enough, if I could give him more stars I would.

I had a case that will bring me 1K each month, and she could not wait for a payment to come from my case, so greedy, and so heartless, as I am disabled and my current income did not allow to just shell 350 for one hour consultation.
HA HA, guess what -
i did my case all by myself. From state to state, from county top county and now I am receiving all that money that she refused to help me with.
Cold nonconsiderant "moneyfirst" person, wonder how the Lawyer's Oath sounds like.

I cannot say enough great things about Attorney Silverman. She was so helpful throughout the entire process. She responded to my emails and phone calls very promptly. She was kind, patient, and most importantly gave great advice. My custody case was emotionally and mentally draining for me. I was very worried that there would be an undesirable outcome. Attorney Silverman did a fantastic job of getting the best outcome for me and my son. She is the best. I would recommend her to anyone dealing with a custody issue.

Early 2019 Amanda didn’t offer to meet her new client(me) before the case, didn’t contact me before that morning, showed up for my hearing late, did not introduce herself, was completely unprepared, and seemed lost during the case being heard in front of the judge, responses seemed uneducated. Still waiting for the return of my retainer ???

As I near $40k, and over a year and a half in divorce expenses, I could not imagine having a better lawyer and ally than Dave Schanbacher. In divorcing the daughter and sister, of two county judges (from the county in which we and our children live), Dave has brought a superior knowledge and accountability to a flawed system. His profound expertise has enabled him to sort out fact from fiction, and to beautifully navigate what is clearly an uphill battle, and an arduous process. While we still have much work to do, I can’t imagine having a better and more trustworthy attorney. My only regret, is that I didn’t hire Dave as my first attorney; instead opting for a local, and egregiously less talented local (Bellefonte) attorney.

Hired him for my divorce. Definitely laid it on thick when first met him. Provided him with detailed and organized information. Paid him considerably to review information and to be prepared. None of that happened. He was so disorganized and unprepared in court. I found times where I had to bring information to court that he already had, but wasn’t prepared with. He still fumbled through and couldn’t present case. Pretty embarrassing. I give you one example of many. We had to go in front of divorce master. Both parties had appraisals done. One item a four wheeler was appraised $1600.00 of any book value. I pointed this out to Dave way before meeting to submit for evidence. He said just bring to meeting. Needless to say divorce master wouldn’t except it because it wasn’t submitted for evidence. Thanks Dave you just cost me $1600.
This is just one of many mistakes. I really considered firing him, but at the time I couldn’t afford another retainer. Believe me I checked with other lawyers. When I told them what was going on, they just shook their heads.
I hope someone who reads this,learns from my mistake. Looks somewhere else. I will say this about Dave, he’s a shark when he’s trying to get more money from you. Too bad it doesn’t follow into court. Sad display for a lawyer claiming to have all this experience. Good luck.

I am dissatisfied with the behavior of this law firm, which has wronged a friend and respected member of our community. After attempting to address my concerns with the firm's owner, I was met with a lie from the paralegal about the owner's availability. This incident reflects the unprofessional conduct that I have observed since my friend first retained this firm. My friend, a responsible and law-abiding individual, was taken advantage of financially by this firm. They have failed to provide adequate communication and have not honored their obligations under the retainer agreement. I have filed complaints with the local bar association and will continue to advocate for my friend and protect others from this firm's unethical behavior.

I made a appointment with the owner for a consultation. Her secretary called me to ask me if I wanted to make an appointment with Maria cognetti or her associate for less money. I stated that my friend was going through a divorce but had no money, does she take cases like that ? I was told she does at time take cases like that but we had to go through the consultation first to see if she would. We went to see her, she said she never takes cases like that and her office would of never told me such things! Well this was the only office I ever talked to so 100% I was told that! She said she has never done that. I spent 509.00 for nothing! I do not make that kind of money and for her office to deceive me like that was not right! I would have never came there to give someone 509.00 for nothing!!!! Her secretary also didn’t tell me she was allergic to perfume… but Maria basically called me a liar that her firm said she sometimes takes cases where the client pays afterwards, but shocked her we weren’t told about her perfume allergy?…. So I’m out of 500. For nothing, I said would I showed up to just give you 509.00 for nothing? Just think about that….. if they were honest at the beginning, and if it was a fact they never did that I would of never gone to hand over 509.00 cash for nothing…. Think about that…. And yes it was the only law firm I talked to! She made it seem like I talked to another lawyer. No 100% cognetti law firm 100% that they told me she sometimes takes special cases with no money… so I feel scammed. I wasted hard earned money for nothing!!!! We don’t make a lot in life to hand out for nothing! The fact she made me feel like I lied about what her secretary said is even worse!!!! Think about this … why would I come there if I had no money? I asked the secretary that question! She said yes she does take cases like yours with no money upfront, but you have to get the consultation first to see if your case qualifies.. then Maria said she has never taken a case like that ever!!!!!! Wow bye 509.00 for nothing!!!!!!!!!!
