I can not say enough good things about Mr. Patterson! I was going through a horrendous separation and did something extremely stupid which led to a felony charge. A friend told me about Travis. I had little to no money at the time of our consultation. Travis was still willing to take my case and allow me to make payments. He's straight forward, honest, efficient, professional, encouraging and makes you feel like you're his #1 priority. His knowledge of the law is outstanding and he explains things in laymen terms for people like me who don't always understand it. We all make mistakes. Upon hearing about Houston & Alexander PLLC, I consulted them regarding DUI charges among others. Mr. Underwood got court postponed for me on more than one occasion, until I was able to pay for their services in full. On my final court date they did their negotiations with the district attorney’s representatives, and got my charges reduced to reckless driving. I am fully satisfied as I can get on with my life and career with this all behind me. The biggest thing for me is that they are willing to work with you, they do a fantastic job working for you, and they are affordable. I will always recommend Jay Underwood or Houston & Alexander PLLC to anyone who needs legal help or advisement.

Hired Houston & Alexander, and they got my domestic assault dismissed and expunged. Jay handled things in Court and the whole staff was great to work with. I also moved to Florida and they kept me from even having to come back for Court. Highly recommend them

My spouse hired a high-powered "celebrity" attorney and was planning on putting me "through the ringer" and was planning to take our child out of state with the man she was having an affair with. Mr. Fort stood toe-to -toe with her council and was able to get me everything I asked for. He is very knowledgeable and understands the law and formulates an amazing strategy. Thanks to him I have 50/50 custody without having to concede any other demands. He and Misti (paralegal) are strong communicators who will answer very promptly (always within an hour) with concrete advice. Obviously each case is different but if you are totally 100% open and honest, Mike will fight for you. I would recommend Mike to anyone who is in need of a top-notch lawyer.

I can’t say enough about how awesome Brent Horst is. After the very first meeting I felt a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders and I knew that everything was going to be alright. I switched from another attorney who was basically telling me that an indictment was inevitable and to just prepare for it. While he never made any promises, Brent made me feel confident the whole time that he could prevent charges from being filed. He immediately went to work after our first meeting and fought to do everything possible to prove my innocence. He truly showed his passion for my case and I knew it meant as much to him as it did to me. He was always available to take my calls and respond to my texts and emails. "Making good decisions is a crucial skill at every level." - Peter Drucker The quote above is one I wish had come to mind before retaining the first attorney in my criminal case. It is never a good decision to make a decision from anxiety and fear of unfamiliar circumstances. What prepares a person without a criminal record to take the next step in the judicial process after bonding out of jail? Nothing. Living an honest life for 60 years means little when falsely accused of domestic violence. Watching as mandatory arrest and no-drop prosecution policies implemented to protect victims of domestic abuse were skillfully exploited and manipulated by the mother of my son's young child was staggering. The hurried decision after being released from the mandatory Metro Jail 12-hour hold to pay legal retainer fee was a novice's mistake. Choosing from a list of private counsel found in the reception area of the Public Defender's Office without researching experience and case results almost jeopardized my rights and freedom. Unlike my accuser, there was no army of advocates waiting to guide me through the process. Thankfully, I was able to find Mr. Horst's website in my online search for highly-rated experienced criminal trial attorneys. After watching Mr. Horst's video “My Client My Fight”, I knew he was the person for my defense. The most repeated characteristics of successful criminal defense attorneys mentioned in articles I read online were: Credibility, Communication Skills, Knowledge, Confidence, Civility, Personal Involvement and Courtroom Demeanor and my addition to the list - Backbone. Mr. Horst possesses them all in spades. From the beginning, my decision to have the case bound over to Criminal Court was non-negotiable. Many people said to me, "Why not just accept the General Sessions hallway offer of judicial diversion, conviction, 16 week offender program and no jail time just to be done with the stress?" Mr. Horst said me, "Why?" Words cannot describe the feeling of waking up the morning after my case was retired. For the first time in almost a year the anxiety and thoughts of an emotional trial were gone. I am very grateful for Mr. Horst's endless patience, understanding and guidance during the judicial process. Hopefully, I will not need a criminal trial defense attorney in the future. I'd highly recommend David Willis! I was facing a dui, refusal to submit, and speeding ticket. After a couple of continuances he was able to get the dui and refusal thrown out due to his knowledge of the field sobriety test and what the officers did wrong in administering it. Results were a cheap speeding ticket and court costs. I'd definitely hire again if ever needed.

I hired Dave when I was arrested on a second DUI with an accident involved. I refused the breathalyzer and the officer had me do a field sobriety test. The prosecutor would not give up on reducing the sentence to a reckless driving, so after reviewing the video a couple of times he advised me we have a decent chance at beating it in a jury trial. He walked me through all the things that would go on during the trial. I sat on a jury once before and know that it can go either way so I was nervous at this point. I knew we had a good case and a good possibility of a not guilty verdict. Once the case was moved up to a new court room Dave kept on fighting I was almost positive I was going to have to take it to trial. I went to court one day and Dave came out and told me they were ready to make a deal I couldn't believe it, drop the DUI and take a reckless driving with a year probation and 5 days in jail. I was so excited he got them to drop the DUI, but Dave said that's not good enough so he worked some magic and got them to reduce the year of probation to only six months. He is very thorough, he will tell you the worst case scenario and lets you know what your chances are of getting the charges reduced or maybe beating it in a jury trial. I didn't take my chances with the jury and took the deal, Dave worked his ass off to get me that deal and I believe he would have did the same if It would have went to trial. It was the best deal I was going to get and I just wanted it to be over. I have been charged with two DUI's and have had them both reduced to reckless driving. I will tell you he is very strict, do what he tells you to do so that he can do his job to keep you out of jail. I am so glad I hired Dave, I think that if not for him I would have taken the DUI in general sessions court, but he encouraged me to keep on going. He knows the system but I hope I never have to hire him again.

I hired Mr. Feuer for a unique case that ended up working out in the long run. It is very complicated but it short summary I was arrested and had my car towed while in jail my attorney sent the proper documents and check with appropriate dollar amount to KPD and TN Safety Dept. and when I finally got out I pursued my car and we were not able to locate or find a trail of it. So Mr. Feuer did his legal work and found that the officials handling the matter did not follow proper procedures and guidelines and found the responsible for my damages done. Although, the ordeal is still not completely finished he has gotten it down to the signatures and final review and it should be resolved and settled by the end of this month. I’m very thankful to have had him on my team during all of this.

My life turned upside down 3+ years ago when the unexpected happened. Before I knew it I was talking about criminal defense and my name was attached to something I did not do. Dealing with the trauma and now the accusations were more than I could deal with on my own. Fighting for my credibility, reputation and foremost the truth was completely out of my hands. These people did not know me and in the beginning, they did not know whether I was truly "not guilty", but even still, they treated me with such respect, and never did I feel like a criminal. Short version: ***When working/talking with attorney John McNeil there was never any issue with feeling judged or discouraged. There was always timely communication, meetings, new information, and follow up’s post court dates. He responded to my questions and presented all information, leaving me without questions or concerns related to his knowledge and attention to each case. I would highly recommend this office and their services. Longer version: Hiring a lawyer for someone when you’ve never been in any trouble yourself is daunting to say the least. Will the attorney judge the situation, client, myself? Will they take advantage of my ignorance and inexperience? How will I know if they are actually good or just like a ‘car salesman’? The client had a very complex case with two current cases in Shelby county, a hold in MS, and then later complicated by a new hold and transfer for federal charges. This wouldn’t be a 100% honest review if I didn’t admit it took a couple days to originally hear back from the office (I recommend using their online inquiry instead of calling, it seems the electronic paper trail works best); but in those couple of days calling around to many other attorneys some referred me back to this office while others seemed to be judgmental and discouraging (maybe trying to make me feel desperate for their services). ***When working/talking with attorney John McNeil there was never any issue with feeling judged or discouraged. There was always timely communication, meetings, new information, and follow up’s post court dates. He responded to my questions and presented all information, leaving me without questions or concerns related to his knowledge and attention to each case. All cases were settled in a timely manner, some even earlier than expected. I would highly recommend this office and their services.

I filed for SSD after being medically retired from the military in 2016. I kept getting denied finally called Mr Felts and he helped me prepare for my hearing. He was very thorough. If he asked you to do something, write something do it. My hearing didn’t last long because of everything he sent the judge ahead of time my decision was decided at the hearing and I received a fully favorable decision. As a 58-year old man, I thought I had experienced most everything. A marriage, children, divorce, a new marriage, unemployment then under-employment. So being pulled over that night in downtown Nashville for having too many drinks wasn't what I needed -- nor my family and new job. And it was my *second* offense. I had heard about Ryan Caldwell from some friends at my former job who required his services; two for drunk driving and another for possession of an illegal substance. After a quick and easy consult with Ryan over the phone, I was confident that he was for me. And when we met in person at court, I knew it I chose correctly!. First, as ashamed as I was, he spoke to me like a friend without judging me or my circumstances. He was sensitive to my family and work situations and really soothed my mind -- and that of my new wife. He explained in detail the process of getting me the lowest charge possible but while also being realistic, and navigated me through the process in such a way that I could understand. On the court date, I was really nervous, but Ryan calmed me down. And sure enough, the judge charged me with just reckless driving which will be removed from my records -- and employers' radars! And if you think this kind of service costed me an arm and a leg, think again! I price shopped before I went with Ryan, and his fees are more than competitive. If this were to ever happen to me again, or to my family and friends, they're calling Ryan Caldwell! -
