I called a local law firm to see if they would take my case and they no longer practiced family law. They recommended Mr Schempf and I'm glad they did. I had a rather unusual matter with my ex-wife of 15 years. He took his time in the consultation and explained, sometimes twice (sorry!) until I understood. He and his staff are very friendly and professional; they got the job done at a very reasonable rate. I won't hesitate to contact Mr Schempf for future matters and if it's something out of his wheel house I'll confidently accept his referral.

Few months ago I got a reckless driving ticket , I talked five or six lawyers before I decided on Mr.Clingan. it was my first time going to court for anything so I got a free consultation. Mr.Clingan took his time and gave me a very descriptive overview of my legal options , and what he could offer, his rates are very fair, and he doesn’t use fear tactics to get your business. Mr.Clingan is very responsive to texts/calls and he seems like one of the few who genuinely care about their client. I am extremely pleased with his services. I also agree with the other 5 star reviewers he seems to be the best traffic attorney in the area. I’ll be referring him to any family or friends who end up in a similar situation.

I often encounter Shawn in court and he always conducts himself professionally and ethically. He is extremely knowledgeable, and I feel that Shawn really does have the best interest of his clients in mind. He is not an attorney that just wants to settle cases and move on. I often consult with him about legal issues, and he is always able to produce proper legal advice. Additionally, he has a wonderful relationship with the Judges and that goes a long way in criminal defense.

Kim is one of the best divorce lawyers in the area in my opinion. My case involved a high conflict person with personality disorders who manipulated our son and the system to her advantage. I used the Slovensky Law firm for my divorce. I looked up lawyers in the surrounding area near Roanoke, and this firm had wonderful 5 star reviews. Those reviews helped me realize this is who I need to help me through my divorce. Mrs. Slovensky helped me every step of the way to understand the process and always so positive in helping me get through this. My ex-husband wanted a very large sum of my retirement plan. I retained Mike and Rebecca to represent me in what even the presiding judge admitted was one of the most complex cases he'd ever seen. Basically, my ex spouse manufactured allegations against me which she used to remove our minor children from the Commonwealth to return to her home state without my knowledge or consent. I had to fight tooth and nail to try and clear my name and get my kids back. Well, Mike and Rebecca did just that. They met every legal challenge professionally and with decisions that were in the best interest of the children. The result is that ALL of the children have been returned home to Virginia with me having primary custody AND I retained ALL of my assets. Note: I am also a lawyer who knows great legal work...this is such a case. The best interest of the child(ren) is THE standard.

After hiring an attorney I had known for a very long time who almost immediately became ill after taking my case, and then being passed along to another attorney in the same firm who was not providing me with the level of representation I was seeking, I decided to research family law attorney bios and their reviews. I then decided to hire Dale as my advocate after dismissing my former attorney. Dale immediately demonstrated a level of knowledge, capability, and empathy that was unsurpassed. When I first called her office to set up an initial consultation, I was even surprised that she answered her own phone directly. She immediately demonstrated compassion for my situation and moved quickly to take on my high conflict child custody case. She informed me of integral information that I had not received from my previous attorney and she also kept me informed of every action that I had to take, as well as every action she was going to take. She also gave me homework to do, so that she would not have to charge me as much for doing some of the work between herself and her staff, but then she still provided me discounts on my bills. Every time I met with Dale, it was evident to me that she was doing everything within her power to advocate for me. Her understanding of both family law and psychology made her an outstanding attorney who is like no other in her field. Dale is extremely professional, as she is attentive, kind, considerate, and a great listener with amazing ideas. While we unfortunately did not win our case, it was through no fault of hers because I was in a situation where many “cards” were stacked against me from beginning to end, especially a very non-responsive, biased, and unprofessional court appointed Guardian Ad Litem (GAL). While we knew it was going to be an uphill battle all the way, Dale never stopped trying to do her best for me. In summary, I don't believe I could have found a more caring advocate and attorney than Dale and those who worked with and for her at her law firm. If you want the best family law attorney, she is the best.

Mrs. Berrett, is by far the best lawyer to seek with any type of child custody, divorce or other related matters. I hired Mrs. Berrett from a personal friend referral, for my divorce and custody battle. Mrs. Berretts attention to detail and care and compassion for her job and the well being of her client far exceeds any other lawyer i have had the pleasure of working with. While she is nicknamed the Barracuda is because Mrs. Berrett is well known for being aggressive in and out of the courtroom representing the law! No doubt she is a bulldog and when she knows the law is not being adhered too she will fight extra hard to prove her point. I will say my case was a complex one with many moving parts, but together with her team at her practice we were able to prevail. After retiring my finances got out of control and I had to file bankruptcy. This was a scary thing for me to do because I didn't know what to expect. I spent several days calling different bankruptcy lawyers. I called about fifteen different bankruptcy attorneys and was unable to get help from them because they did not have the time to help me and basically rushed me off the phone. At that point I started to give up but I decided to make one last call and that call connected me to Kimberly Chandler. Ms. Chandler answered the phone with such a warm and friendly voice. I used Sean to help me upgrade my OTH discharge. On our first visit, Sean was extremely professional and caring. He listened to my story with full attention. We went over my medical, mental and personnel records and made a timeline from when I first joined to when I left the service. Eventually, we put together a well designed case to submit to the Naval Discharge Review Board. I was not expecting it, but Sean was able to upgrade my discharge to full Honorable from an OTH. Even after opening up his own firm, Sean stay true and kept me up to date on my case. I cant thank Sean enough, it has been a long journey but I finally got the discharge that I truly deserve. I went to see Mr. Davis for an estate plan. I was very pleased with his explanations and the time he took to make sure I understood the process. This sort of thing can be very time consuming and difficult to get through, he completed the paperwork promptly and had all the people in in place to finish the process in the next visit. Kind, caring and compassionate. He's doesn't see you as a dollar figure, he sees you as a person. It makes all the difference. He knows the DUI laws and helped me go from a felony DUI 3rd offense to a 2nd, 2nd offense and no felony. Again, makes all the difference. Highly recommend him when your future is on the line.

i used merna law for chapter 7, I was very embarrassed and felt like a failure, he explained everything well, and really fought for me. my credit was terrible i could not even get a car loan. he got my case discharged, explained how to build credit. 1 year later for approved for 1.4% car loan for five years. he is laid back, but knows his stuff. sadly i live in north carolina and they made a ruling after my case that we can no longer file in va, otherwise I would use the firm him 4 life

I was referred to Mr Pettrey by my personal lawyer regarding a formal separation with my husband. My lawyer could not handle the case because in the past he had done work for us both . Mr Pettrey is a no nonsense , determined lawyer that WILL yield results for his client. My husband did not want to do anything , tried to change the terms of our agreement . Elizabeth and her team were able to drive my mother-in-law through Green Card approval process to completion. The process hit some unfortunate turns when she received incorrect documentation from other countries (Hungary) that was not accepted by US processing center without explanation. We have spend months and months in attempts to find out the reason and move the case from the dead point, including involving senator request to US visa processing center officials. During this time, Elizabeth and her team (Sofia Solonari) were constantly in support. They were tried their best researching similar cases and providing their best advises based on their inner knowledge of the processing system and procedures. Without their guidance we would be lost in the confusing world of hundreds document, forms, and procedures.

Elizabeth was a terrific attorney for my divorce. She listened to my concerns, addressed every one of them, she answered emails promptly and ensured I saw drafts in a timely fashion. At the beginning of my process, we developed a timeline and she stuck right to it. Also, because my divorce was fairly uncomplicated and uncontested, the entire process came in under budget. Donne Colton was referred to me by a therapist who provides court testimony regarding the welfare of children in divorce cases. I sought the therapist's attorney recommendations because I wanted an attorney who had earned a stellar reputation for negotiating and writing divorce and custody agreements in the best interest of children, and I got that and much more when I hired Donne to represent me in my contested divorce in 2015-2016. My custody case was extremely complicated and contentious, and Donne did an outstanding job of navigating me through it. I worked with him and with his excellent paralegal, Margie Madsen, for a solid year. When I was researching attorneys and collecting recommendations, a high-powered attorney connected to a family member of mine sent her an email saying that his divorce attorney "was the best thing about my divorce." I would wholeheartedly say this about Donne and Margie. The divorce was the most difficult, frightening, and stressful experience of my life, and I was continually grateful and glad to have Donne and Margie expertly guiding me through it. Donne has a great deal of personal and professional integrity. He was everything I wanted in an attorney--he's knowledgeable, an excellent negotiator, very good with the myriad details that divorce entails, always accessible, a terrific writer (he wrote all of the agreements for my divorce), and he represented me very well, in court, in documents, in emails, and in phone calls with my ex-husband's attorney. She is the best lawyer I have ever known in VA. At first I was so worried about having a record in my life. But after I talked to her, I felt so relieved. She is so nice that you could trust her at all. I had a case that driving 82/70 Mph in VA, which cause a Misdemeanor.. and an infraction for the expired license. The outcome is changing misdemeanor to infraction,no points, no record, no influence on the insurance, and the infraction is dismissed. All in all , she is deserve your trust!

I met Chanda after taking divorce classes at the Women's Center and hiring and firing two awful lawyers. The first was dishonest and the second was from a firm that charged a high retainer and exorbitant hourly fees and then took days/weeks to return emails. I ended up paying a lot over three months for them to create one document that went nowhere. They didn't offer wise counsel and just sat on things to get the case to court and squeeze more money from me and other clients. Another victory and an exemplary proof that nothing can beat Ms. Kinsey. My ex-wife who attempted to obtain a restraining order against me based on false allegations, has faced a humiliating defeat, where the court quashed her request citing that the allegations were not 'Credible'. This wouldn't have been possible without Ms. Kinsey's ability to effectively present the case and expose the lies. --- My ex-wife tried to play yet another ploy, where she filed 'motion to rehear' to have the court reopen the child custody case citing falsely that she was coerced into signing the child custody documents earlier.
