Melvin took on the divorce of my brother in law and his now X wife. It was a messy litigation but Melvin was able to keep us going in the right direction. My brother in saw has Parkinson's disease and Melvin was very sympathetic to him and worked the action as best he could to minimize actions needed. He was consistent in how he handled the litigation and thorough. I would definitely use Melvin again should the need ever arise. Glad we had him and glad to know him as an individual. Straight up guy.

They charged me a consultation fee. Then when I was ready to move forward with the agreement, they told me I have to pay and get another consultation because the attorney I talked to is no longer working with them and that this was a “firm company policy” — as if it is some type of government regulation.
I am not sure how good attorneys they are since they never gave me a chance to work with them but judging from how unreasonable and uncooperative they are, I would say stay away from them.

I have had the distinct pleasure of being the recipient of Cory Goriup’s expert legal counsel since 2003.
In 1999, I ill advisedly completed divorce proceedings without seeking legal representation. As a result, I was legally bound to an unfavorable judgment that severely limited access to my then, five year old daughter.
After years of mounting frustration, I sought legal counsel to amend the original divorce settlement at Surovell, Isaacs, & Levy PLC where I was introduced to Cory. I gave them 1 star because I called to get my remaining balance to pay off. Their accounting person was awful and rude. She did not know what the fees are being charged for nor the remaining balance that I would had to speak to the lawyer handling the case to get the final balance. That was fine but why be nasty and rude if clients are asking. They really need to train their front office or accounting staff better customer service or how to properly talk to clients better. My husband called a second time and asked to speak to a specific paralegal or lawyer involved in the case to get the final balance and they mistakenly transferred him to this accounting person they had again. She was soo rude and spoke to us both slowly like you are talking to a 1st grader like we did not speak any English. I do not know if it’s because of our last name but we both were born in the states so there was no need to belittle people that are trying to pay off their remaining balance. Makes me think she speaks to all foreigners this way and everybody should be spoken with respect regardless what race, former or current client. We will not be using them ever again for any services knowing they have rude and nasty accounting or front office staff that are not properly trained. I will also be telling others I know about this awful experience.

I originally booked a consultation last year with Pervaiz to discuss my options since I was going through divorce. I didn't have enough info for her during my 1 hour consultation so she cut my session short. So I ended up having a credit for 150$ from the 300$ hour consultation.
After I finalized my divorce amicably with my ex, I decided to reach out to schedule a consultation to write a Will. No Money was collected for this appointment, I just reminded them I had the credit still in my account and they confirmed. I called and emailed the day of my appointment to let them know I had a 103 fever and that I was very sick and I am not able to discuss anything related to a "Will". I mean how could you? With a high fever!! This is a serious topic and you need you full brain capacity to do so!!
Pervaiz refused to reschedule my appointment and they told me if I do not call at my appointment time that they will not allow me to reschedule.
I was diagnosed with the flu and pneumonia and they can clearly tell I am not making my sickness up from the way I was coughing. I offered to send a doctor's note however she just decided to take the credit I have left with them instead of being empathetic with my situation! This clearly shows you that she doesn't care about people! And she just knew I had a credit and took it!
Sickness happens and this unpredictable. I will not recommend her to anyone especially after what happened to me!

I was and am probably their most disorganized client ever and after a 30 relationship ended at total wreck. Jason Weis represented me in a post-divorce matter to look at spousal support. This case was a bit more complicated and required hiring a couple experts and Jason was awesome throughout everything. The experts he suggested were excellent and really helped our case. He and his whole team were extremely detail oriented, kind and polite to deal with (which makes a HUGE difference to me), and were really thinking about every angle and aspect to make sure we presented the best possible case. In court, I was blown away. It was clear throughout our 3 days in court that he was the better attorney, made sure all our evidence was presented and we got everything in that we thought was important, and always kept a calm and focused demeanor. The case ended up better than I ever could have imagined and am SO thankful that I was able to find Jason. Tim gave me a great deal of comfort going into our case. Spent a fair amount of time upfront and followed through with good outreach to the prosecutor. Got lucky with the judge's dismissal, but if that hadn't happened, we had a good plea deal ready to go. Without him, we would have had no palatable follow up plan.

Hiring Andrew Taylor as my attorney was the best decision I made when filing for divorce. My case was complicated, including numerous filings and hearings leading to a multi-day trial related to my divorce, child custody and support. He also handled my J&DR Court hearings to secure a Protective Order for my children and I. Andrew knows the law thoroughly and his experience in the courtroom meant he gave me very sound advice. After trying diligently to settle with the other side, it became clear we would have to go to trial. This meant months strategically prioritizing and timing the work on discovery, depositions, expert witnesses, coordination with the Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), minor children testifying to the judge in chambers, and supplementary legal negotiations. I got in my first major car accident last year in November and it was a major blow financially and emotionally for me because it wasn't my fault at all and I had no idea where to turn too for legal help. By the grace of God my fiancee's coworker suggested this law firm for my case because he had such a good experience with them and let me tell you he wasn't lying. Throughout the whole process so far they have been so helpful and nice making this traumatic experience for me so much easier to get through. Like most of us, I met multiple lawyers prior to selecting one to handle my divorce and custody of three children. I knew it would be contentious and needed someone willing to take on the fight and unexpected allegations. From the day I met Chris, I knew he was the right personality. His calm demeanor portrays a confidence necessary in the court room and handling complex negotiations with OC. I unfortunately had the pleasure of not one, but two instances of trial prep in Chris's office and really appreciated the thoroughness of his preparation and the inclusion of his staff. I genuinely feel I benefited from the full team environment at the firm, I needed the support and persistent follow-up! I ended up being sued twice and each time Chris handled it with complete professionalism, maturity and assurance knowing exactly how to handle each situation. Google doesn't give you the option to give them as many stars as Big Valley deserves. Can't praise them enough. Upon first contacting their office, my family and I were facing legal issues that left us feeling confused, and downright frightened about the legal issues we were facing. Honestly, we didn't even know where to start. The staff was attentive and knowdgeable- quickly giving us a jargon-free synopsis of the nature of the charges while we on the phone; they also gave us a realistic and unbiased assessment of the possible outcomes ahead of us. Other than a brief hold to conduct research on the state's judiciary data base, their expertise allowed them yo ascertain the necessary processes to achieve the best possible outcomes.
....MIND YOU, this was BEFORE we ever gave them a penny. Just good advice and a fair quote. After placing them on retainer they worked diligently on our cases, and even went so far as to reach out the day prior to our court appearences to touch base and remind us of our docket times. I was at a crossroad not knowing which way to go towards moving forward on my divorce.I had separated from my ex -wife and was living in an apartment and paying for a mortgage and all bills of a house that I was not living in.The ex-wife did not want to cooperate with me in trying to be reasonable with the mortgage and bills for the house.I had spoken with several attorneys and I started out with an attorney in the office with Ms.Allen and I was later referred to Mr.Erickson.I spoke to Mr.Erickson and explained my situation to him as to what was going on.
