Jill A. Schuh handled a case for me when I was at the worst time of my life. She took my case at a discounted fee because she understood my financial situation (which other Attorneys don't care about). She took all my calls, was very assertive and took the time to listen.

Mr. Butler and I have never met, but I owe him a shout out. My son has been living in South Florida for almost 6 years and just like his adult sister got a little too deep in debt what with way too easy to acquire credit cards and a similarly easy to get approved for truck loan for a big new expensive truck. Mr. Butler got him squared away, resolved his revolving CC debt and made common sense suggestions to downsizing his transportation situation. Upshot. He is coming home to Arizona with a still amazing-looking F-150 ( a few years older than the one he had ), no debt drowning him financially and more important to me - an emotionally rejuvenated young adult man with better, smarter financial skills. When I graduated high school in Fort Lauderdale, I then attended a Junior College so as to save money to attend a respected out of state university for my final two years. The very first week on campus there was a bank kiosk where a man told me I could get a bank VISA card, though I had zero credit. I went for it. Then I got all these offers in the mail from competing banks for their credit cards and it was really easy as they said I was per-approved, though I didn't even have a job! My parents were helping me with my car, insurance, gas, and rent. The college financial counselors got me set up with student loans and they really didn't care what I did with the money.
Fast forward to year two at the J.C. and I was in serious debt. Any ideas of saving up money to go to the University in Michigan was dead and buried in my very first semester. I was is real trouble and being harassed by those used-to-be nice folks insisting I needed their credit cards. I called Howard in the summer of 2014 for advice. Fast forward to 2016, I am planning a visit home to Florida from Michigan where I will graduate next year with a double major. None of my current, relaxed and stress-less life of late would have happened had I not received help in clearing up my financial mess. I could not run away from Florida without finding a solution. The mess would chase me no matter how far away I was moving. So I faced it head on 2 years ago. I will return to Florida in July. Surprising to me, I do have a credit card again for emergencies and car rentals at the airport, but I never use it.
I am a reformed and grateful client of Howard Butler. When I visit my favorite Fort Lauderdale restaurant next week, I will pay with by debit card that will draw funds from my bank. No deficit spending! I appreciate rebuilding my credit rating, but that doesn't mean I need to get into debt. Thanks for the advice and legal help Mr. Butler.

he was my lawyer for 5 years for a medical malpractice lawsuit started out great than after 3 years could not get much done from him he kept stating good case to go to trial to win then things changed did not get much info from him on case slowing started to dwindle drag me out 5 years and than informed me about if we loose what it would cost me never talked about this because he keep saying going to trial because my lawsuit against doctor looked great had a great trail lawyer and drs lawyer was I admit was tough but keep telling me good case to go to trial well than sudden he reminder me about cost of loosing which than scared me and I dropped case would never give explanation on why not going to trial just keep saying what the cost would be if we lost so I gave up. to scared to proceed after all these years I now was not going to trial and would never see any compensation for me against the dr who screwed my foot up so I do not recommend anybody proceed with grife law firm.

I am in the process of trying to collect two judgment awards in civil cases here in central fl. I have gone as far as I could go on my own in order to collect the debts. I sought out legal advise online and came across this site "Avvo". I wrote out my problem and received responses from several lawyers. Most of which told me that my cases were not worth pursuing and basically I should get a life. Attorney Mark Theodore Tischhauser has referred to me as a "starry eyed lay person who rely upon the courts to resolve their disputes........." I also posted a thank you response and Mr. Tischhauser's reply was as quote "Being thankful or gracious does little to overcome the often poor financial and legal decision making fueled by stubborn determination and the emotion of a self determined righteous cause." He also stated that a lawyer knows whether it's worth it or not to pursue a judgment. Was this supposed to be helpful or was I reprimanded for my inquiry? I was under the impression that this is the purpose of 'Avvo'. Seeking legal advice and possibly hiring a lawyer. Mind you, I never mentioned the amounts of the judgments or if I sued a person or a business. I basically said that I won judgments in civil matters, filed some motions that were denied and need advise on how to pursue. Out of the different responses that I received only one was on the positive note. Jay Grife was the only attorney that had an encouraging response. He is the only one who has taken the time to guide me in suggesting alternative options. I was beginning to feel that obtaining my judgments are hopeless. Since my income is low I have been trying to file all motions on my own to no avail. I just need a little guidance on what my next best options are. Mr. Grife made me feel that there is still hope. He didn't ridicule or belittle me in any way. He has made me feel that my cases are just as important as any other. I was at my wits end, but after speaking personally with him, he has made me feel more confident then ever before. His impression on me is that he work from the heart. Not just the almighty dollar. He really cares and treat people with dignity and the utmost respect Compared to other attorneys who has acknowledged my posts, he is the tops. In all of my years as a consumer I have never been inspired enough by anyone to actually sit down and write a review about them. That is how much I have been impressed by Attorney Jay S. Grife's professionalism. If you are looking for a lawyer who view you as a person, not just a dollar sign, Jay S. Grife is the attorney for you. He is smart, witty and thorough. He can and will get the job done. I will follow up my review at a later date with the outcome.

We hired Manuel Perez Leiva along with Mr Martin McCarthy for a fairly simple law suit in July of 2018 for fraud committed by my father to my mother right after they got divorced. A fraud of hiding a sale of marital goods.
Countless malpractice steps (purposely or due to a lack of legal knowledge and preparation either way disastrous outcome) were taken by Manuel until we had to fire him in 2019 and stay with the rest of attorneys which turned out to be also a big fiasco. We are seriously studying the case for malpractice against this corrupted and poor excuse for attorneys. We are presently paying thousands of dollars in liability for this guy's legal rep. Awful and totally untrusted behavior but specially Mr Manuel Perez Leiva should not be allowed to exercise any legal function, he is not suited at all. We believe there are several cases of unsutisfied clients but somehow just like all sleazy lawyers, he finds the way to erase any proof of his unacceptable behavior.
We don't think he is suited for legal practice in any way. Anyone who exposes to his legal rep will undoubtedly suffer his unhonorable doings and poor legal execution to say the least.
Do not hire this guy.

Hired him to assist in very small matter, however, he never showed up and forgot to respond to court on timely manner, as a result, when I contacted him, he told me that he is in Brazil or some other south American country and he was not able to make it, so I had to settle with other party before I get a default judgment. He was unreliable and cost us few thousand dollars, on a case we could easily win. I HAD A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE AND DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PERSON.

If you want him to tell you he is withdrawing from your case the day after divorce trial and tell you he will not advise you and proceed to sign off on a final judgement 3 days later that you object to (one written by opposing counsel)..... he's your guy. You may want to think about if that is ethical and if that's who you want representing you. During litigation many emails to him without responses and being told they were difficult questions when I discussed the matter with him! Too many negatives to list.
Update: as to his response I don't take his apology too serious. The man won't even respond to any emails and sounds familiar as when I was paying him to represent me he didn't respond to emails. He was paid to serve a subpeona in my case and was notified that he sent it to the wrong department and needed to resend it to the correct department. After a few days I called the financial institution to check on the subpeona as we were on a tight timeline only to be told that he was contacted to resend it and did not do it. I contacted him and was given an "excuse" and he promptly resent it. I followed up with the subpeona department that it was sent to only to find out he didn't sign the subpeona! Again another "excuse." Prior to trial he said we wouldn't have the subpeona back in time for trial. One day after trial and him telling me he was withdrawing from my case....Guess what ....I again called the subpeona department to check on the subpeona and was told that it was sent to him the day before trial! 2 days later we have a hearing with the judge for him to withdraw from my case and I let him know that I had called and found out that he was sent the subpeona the day before trial. I can still see the look on his face. Within 45 minutes after the hearing I get an email stating that he went and checked his email and low and behold it was in his SPAM! Take it from there.
