OK, so I just bought a house in Homestead and during the closing the lawyers were talking about my "new" taxes. Yeah, that's cool, they aren't too crazy, but anyway, they were saying that this guy was hired by the city and he's crushin' all of these slime balls who haven't paid their taxes in like over 20 years!! They were joking that if I didn't pay some taxes that were owed that this "Sherriff Cowboy" would show up and make sure Yonkers got paid. So one of the lawyers went on the computer and did a search and he said that this guy has gotten MILLIONS $$$$$ of dollas from a whole bunch of people who haven't like EVER paid their taxes - in like over 20 years straight. So I say GO GET EM' Mr. C. I want our COPS to get paid and FIREMEN to come to my house if I need help and TEACHERS to keep teaching my kids . . . and so I don't have to pay ANY MORE MONEY cause of these slumlords not paying their taxes!!!

Our lawyer advised us that in the eyes of the law we had a weak case since we did not have written documents (it was a verbal agreement) We strongly expressed that although we realized the weakness in the case, we knew what the truth was and felt we wanted to go forward. Once the decision was made to proceed legally, she handled everything professionally and on a timely basis. Any and all of questions or concerns were addressed, even if it was something we didn't want to hear. We always knew where we stood, what was next and other options if things didn't go as we had hoped. To me, her belief in the case and making things right for my Dad meant the world to me. We were able to agree on a very nice settlement due to our lawyer knowing how to handle the case legally with the appropriate court motions and tactful conversations with the opposing lawyer. We avoided a long drawn out court battle because our attorney made it be known that we were not going away easily. It worked! Very pleased with the outcome of our case given the odds were stacked against us in the eyes of the law.

So Far the Only Lawyer to Get Me a Good outcome Simply by Following my Directions. I do not know why previous attorney's were unwilling to tell my side of the story or discuss my medical condition; my motives, and the plaintiffs motives. The judge agreed with me and I got a conditional discharge.
Michael was Chosen by Suffolk Legal Aid so he was chosen randomly, as far as I am concerned.
I wanted to represent myself but the Judge ordered a 730 Exam for trying to speak to him in between attorneys.
Michael was able to get me certified competent as well. Suffolk Legal Aid was unable to do that. They were also Unwilling to speak to the Da or Judge on my Behalf. Michael was not Timid in that regard.
However, I shouldn't have to threaten to leave a Bad Review to get an attorney to follow my instructions.

While on an overseas deployment, I had received a citation for a Dept of Buildings violation that I was not responsible for. Due to my deployment, I was unable to appear at hearings to defend myself.
