I was unexpectedly hit by a car from behind by a woman going 40 miles per hour and slid into two other SUV’s on I-5 resulting in a four car accident. My car being the only one to get totaled. I suffered horrendous neck and back problems within days of the accident and underwent three years of constant doctor’s appointments and pain.
What was so upsetting was the fact that the insurance company hadn’t reviewed my file when it came time to offer me a resolution. I had new insurance adjusters assigned to my case constantly and they only cared about offering me the least amount of money possible. They didn’t care about my medical bills, pain or what I had been through.
My car accident lawyer, Brian Ellis was very helpful throughout the process. I’m so thankful I had Brian Ellis and his wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with my car insurance company. My insurance didn't want to pay for the coverage that I had paid to them for years just in case an accident would happen. Once the accident happened, it was upsetting to see how little my insurance company cared or wanted to help. I would highly recommend calling Brian to discuss your case if you’ve been in a car accident or suffered and injuries.
I think it’s a big mistake to not have someone on your side and to try and handle a serisous matter yourself or with someone who may be unqualified.

I was in a car accident and got side swiped by another car. I was in the hospital for two weeks recovering from my injuries. My hospital bills were tremendous. Brian not only helped me sue the other car for hitting me, but he was able to get enough money for me to pay all my hospital bills as well as money for my pain and suffering. We were referred to Mr. Plavnick in 2013 by friends who had retained his services in about 2004 for their foster-adopt process. Their confidence in him gave us the assurance we needed to move ahead using his services to complete our California Independent Adoption. Our process should have been straightforward, but as these things go, there were hurdles. Throughout our case he was self-assured, but never arrogant. My home was damaged in recent CA wild fires. My friend has referred me to Artin and he represented my home insurance claim. Artin was very knowledgeable about the whole processes. I was a passenger in a car that was involved in a accident. The driver ran over a center-divide and took out a couple of street signs, the car wasn't damaged very bad. After arguing with the drivers insurance company for 8 months, they offered me $1000 dollars, at this point I was exhausted and in pain and ready to settle, then I spoke to Mr. Fogy. Mr. Fogy got me on the road to recovery. I went to physical therapy for about six months, while my case was going through the proper channels and in the end, I received a check for $32,860.00, TAX FREE!!!!!!!!
Currently I have a workman's compensation case, the defendants attorney offered me like $1,500. Because the case is still active, I don't want to disclose the numbers we are looking at now, BUT, it is way more than what i was offered. WAY! MORE! I found Mr. Matiasic online and he was the only one of three other lawyers who responded wanting more info. The others did not want to persue the case, thinking it hard to prove. Mr. Matiasic was the only one who asked to meet with me personally to discuss the case and it was only with Mr. Matiasic asking questions and explaining to me the what we needed to prove, that I was able to give him the solid information (photos) that resulted in a successful settlement. He worked with and for me from the initial contact in May 2007 until the settlement in Dec 2007, keeping me appraised at every step of the negotiations. I was more than pleased with the result.

We turned to Liana after my husband and I were denied our case due to the non-receipt of the documents we sent. We went through ten circles of hell before finally finding Lianna. All the lawyers said it was better to open the case from scratch, pay an exorbitant amount of fees, and wait again. Others said that the fees would still have to be paid again to get the case reviewed. And others refused to take on the case due to its complexity and ambiguity. Lianna, however, clearly explained all the steps we would take, and told us that it was not our mistake and we should not pay any fees again. As a result, our case was reopened for review. Ten days later, we received approval for our case! Words cannot express how grateful I am to Liana! She truly saved our case and helped us immensely when we had almost lost hope. Not only did Jeff return my call, he spent about 35 to 40 minutes on the phone with me and answered every question I had asked. During the initial office consultation, he was not only extremely knowledgeable in product design defects but also extremely professional and friendly putting my wife and I completely at ease.

I had a medical malpractice case with Martha Taylor. I was extremely pleased with her and her staff. Obviously if you are in need of an attorney in this area of law, something has gone terribly wrong. Our case involved a minor and Martha was very conservative in her spending on expert witnesses medical experts toxicologist etc. That approach gave more money to the client after all involved were paid. All lawsuits take time sometimes years and even though our case presented special challenges she persevered and continued to Persue the best possible outcome. I found her assistant to be quick with call backs and extremely helpful with the sometimes daunting and hard to understand paperwork. Called in to get a consult on a business dispute, and having already contacted several attorneys, I was expecting the same pitch...to make an appointment and go there and get very little information for a lot of money. I found Ernest from Yelp since I see many consistent good reviews about him. I took the courage to give it a shot and call him in addition to another 2 lawyers to help me with a eviction case recently. I had a very bad experience with another greedy lawyer in Sacramento regarding tenant issues. So I am very hesitant to seek help from another one. Ernest, however, is not the cheapest attorney of the three but he gave me the most thorough and informative advice even before he took on my case over the phone. He clearly was able to think from my situation. In past two months, despite my small case of eviction, he has been very patient and responsive to my so many questions. His advice is very succinct, accurate and informative. He truly lives up to his promise to help me overcome the problem. I feel that he genuinely thought from my perspectives and best interest . I have been very well informed by him throughout the whole process what my options are. He would not take advantage of my vulnerable situation and my determination to evict the bad tenant by talking me into more expensive options. He is truly a very good lawyer who really wants to help. Had a problem with a lawsuit. Most lawyers don't take cases halfway though, but they did. Looked around on the Internet and found this law office. The main lawyer Chen there seems pretty busy and has cases in court all the time (I guess so if everyone is trying to hire him) but still got back to me each time and seems pretty smart. I like that he told me about different strategies to see if any of them would help me before I signed up, while other places just kind of kept to themselves so I didn't know what they could do for me. Staff are pretty helpful and really really nice folks. Their prices were a lot less than other lawyers and did not charge any of the nickel and dime stuff like making copies or paperclips like the other place that I used. Really good experience considering I was having legal troubles, but I guess that's what lawyers are for. Will definitely say they are in my top referral.

David helped me with a case regarding discrimination at my place of employment. I was a good worker, so I never thought it would happen to me. And then it did. It was a complicated case as there were many years of behavior from many people and a variety actions involved. The lawsuit itself lasted for many years too.
I always felt confident that David had the knowledge and experience to carry me through every step of the way - and there were a lot of steps! If I had a question, David was prompt to reply.
I’m still so impressed with how much David knows about California and federal employment law and how much real life experience he has with all of it. I needed help with a dire situation at work. Someone didn't like me and wanted me gone, despite an outstanding job performance on record. This was in the public sector so there was also a union involved and procedure that needed to be followed. I knew I needed an attorney, but didn't know how to find one that had the expertise and street smarts that I was looking for. I made numerous phone calls and consulted (in person) with two other attorneys before asking David Duchrow if he'd represent me. I am so happy he said yes.
My situation dragged out for months and time and time again, I'd be told one thing by the union (who was there to represent me) and something different by David. With his experience in appeals ("appellate law"), David was always one step ahead of the union because David would already know how this or that situation played out in the courts -- and he was well informed of the latest court decisions. It was this big picture type of thinking that ultimately got me a decent settlement considering the employer started out offering $0.
There were times I asked myself, "Do I really want to pay for an attorney? I have a union going to bat for me, won't that be enough?" All I can say is, I'm so very glad I had Mr. Duchrow on my team. I can confidently say that the only reason I got anything at all is because I had David Duchrow guiding and advising.
David Duchrow sees the big picture, the chess pieces, even when others trained in the law (and specifically in employment) couldn't see the same things he did with the same information. He's also one of the nicest and even-tempered people I've met. He was always patient and I did ask a lot of questions. David was careful to walk me through the logic of every piece of advice he gave to ensure I got it and understood the reasoning behind his recommendations. This helped me buy in to whatever it was he was suggesting and also gave me confidence when I had to face the ugliness of the situation before me.
The other thing I'll say is that his rate is extremely reasonable and David doesn't nickel and dime when representing you.
If you're in an employment situation and need an expert eye, someone with true street smarts or find yourself represented by a union, but wondering if you could do better, my short answer is this: Yes, you can do better. David Duchrow is the best I've come across when I was searching for an employment attorney. I'm extremely glad I decided to spend money on proper representation and I'm even more glad that it was on the right attorney.
