David is a very knowledgeable and diversified attorney. As a medium sized business with locations in a number of states, we have used David in both complaints and defense cases. I hired Robert Adler, at the last minute, to represent me at trial against a collection agency. This agency sued me because I refused to pay for services that I did not want or ask for. Mr. Adler took charge at the Mandatory Settlement Conference (“MSC”). Because of Mr. Adler’s persuasive meditation skills, the deal he made with the collection agency was fair, and I am more than satisfied with the result. Mr. Adler did not come cheap but he was totally worth it. I would use his expertise again, and I would definitely recommend him.

I was represented by the Veen Firm in a case that went to trial. My injury was caused by a law enforcement K9 that was running free in my neighborhood. Knowing Malyan Law and Christina is to know you have a good advocate on your side. I had a car accident and even though I handled it by myself, Christina was always a phone call away to guide and assist to make sure I was not being offered a low settlement. She guided me through the entire process without ever feeling pressured I had to hire an attorney.

I very rarely write reviews about anything but I cannot recommend Michael Foster enough! I recently had a landlord / tenant issue that I initially tried to resolve on my own. But the other side was being extremely difficult and refusing to resolve or settle the dispute. I ended up contacting Michael Foster. Michael really took the time to listen and understand my issue. He explained all of my options and ultimately was able to get the matter resolved entirely to my satisfaction. I ultimately got everything I was asking for from the other party and I couldn't be happier.

Mr. James Ballidis represented myself in a Uninsured motorist coverage case. Geico insurance (my insurance company) refused to offer an award under my policy even with no issue of liability or comparative negligence. The case went to arbitration where the parties presented the nature of injuries and medical care necessary, and economic damages. Mr. Ballidis' preparation throughout the case was extremely thorough and his presentation and cross examination was damaging to respondents attorneys. The arbitrator even came to me on a side bar and complemented Mr. Ballidis " You are lucky to have such a good attorney representing you". Without going through the details of the entire case, I will close with "you too would be very lucky to have Mr. James Ballidis represent you." Approximately two years ago, I had the unfortunate experience of being in a rear-end car accident. The young women, who was texting did not even look up and hit me at around 40 mph. I suffered severe whiplash along with soft tissue damage of the back and shoulder.
After the shock wears off, you are confronted with doctor visits, hospital bills, decisions on where to fix your car and of course talking with your insurance company. It can seem overwhelming at the time and especially if you are in a lot of pain. Fortunately, I had known Jim Ballidis through our mutual business networking group and I knew exactly who to call.
Since this was my first accident, Jim explained the entire process of what I needed to do as well as what Allen, Flatt, Ballidis and Leslie would do for me. Jim's firm handled all communications with my insurance company, the car repair agency and towing yard. This allowed me focus on getting my health back so I could return to work.

Mike handled two cases for me over the past six years and both were resolved in an expeditious manor. One case was a Real Estate caseand the other was a Business Law (partnership disolution)case. Mike was fair, reasonable, and honest about the situation we were involved in and did not try to give me unreasonable expectations about our cases. He called it like it was and we were sucessful on both accounts. He understands the California Legal system for what it is and he maneuvered around the obstacles put in front of us. Working with Mr. Chahine was absolutley a great experience. Being that I own a business, I was very concerned about the impact a DUI would have on both my work and my personal life. After meeting with several attorney's i decided on using Mr. Chahine, and turned out to be the best decision could have made. Not only did he get my DUI dropped down to a wet reckless, but he also somehow had the courts not suspend my drivers license. Not even for a single day. I never had to miss a single day of work. I found Douglas Weitzman on Avvo related to my real estate dispute. Weeks after signing the P&S the buyers attempted to cancel the contract using the ‘inspection contingency’ as their stated basis—and wanted to back out—but I thought ‘changing their minds’ was not a valid reason to cancel the contract since I provided the buyers with a full disclosure—which described in detail all the current conditions of the property. The buyers commissioned their own inspection report—and the conditions identified in the buyers’ inspection report were the same conditions identified in my disclosure—revealing nothing new—as there were no repairs needed.
Despite this—the buyers exercised their 'inspection contingency' within the 10-day inspection period, during which time the buyer is allowed to have the property inspected to reveal any potential issues that could 'void' the contract. Despite the fact that there 'weren't any' new unsatisfactory conditions on the property—the 'inspection contingency' is obviously a scapegoat that buyers can use to back out of a deal.
Weitzman asked me if I issued a 'notice to perform'—a real estate tool designed to make buyers stick to agreed-upon deadlines that are defined in the real estate purchase agreement—issuing a notice typically gives the buyer 48 hours to remedy the situation at hand—if the buyer has still failed to comply with the agreed-upon action, the seller can keep the earnest money deposit in some cases.
Thus, we learn that the buyers have 'no obligation' to buy until they notify sellers that all contingencies are satisfied. Weitzman gave me a free consultation and in turn helped me define the 'notice to perform' and how to use it—which can be advantageous to both buyers and sellers in the California residential purchase agreement. In this case, I am not at the 'distinct advantage' of issuing the Notice to Perform.
