We ran into a brick wall when requesting a legal upgrade to our existing mobile home in a Santa Cruz park. The park owner wanted it his way or the highway in conflict with Park Rules and the Law. He was devious and trying to use laws and rules that did not exist.
We hired Maurice due to strong recommendations by mobile home experts in the Santa Cruz area. He quickly did the required homework and demonstrated to the Park Owner's attorney that he was out of line but unfortunately he would not budge nor would he make himself for an in person conversation. So Maurice filed and won the required injunction so we could go ahead with our upgrade just as it was originally planned. He then followed through with a damage claim to cover legal and other costs including delay expenses which he also won. Under his guidance this process was seamless, went exactly as planned and with a successful outcome. Mission accomplished. Our thanks to Maurice.

John Boessenecker was recommended to us by a law professor at San Francisco University School of Law. After consulting with John and a few other probate attorneys we decided he was the right person to handle my father’s estate that I was appointed co-executor over. Soon after opening probate it was discovered that my father never closed his father’s estate (1968) which made the situation extremely complicated. This meant that we had to open probate for my grandfather. When the judge looked the situation over she said it was one of the most convoluted cases she had ever seen. Step by step John methodically pieced together the order in which matters had to be executed to make things happen and happen smoothly. During this time I became the executor over my step-father’s estate (yes, pretty insane!) and of course there was no question who to use. That estate also had challenges as multiple beneficiaries were named in a will but John knew exactly what, when and how to handle each step. If anyone is a wiz at this stuff, it is him. I honestly don’t think we could have made it through those tough times without John and am please to give him five stars here. His talents, character and work ethics are what make him successful and it has been a pleasure to work with him.

I wish I could give Mr. Barth more stars than five. He was very responsive from the beginning. As you can imagine, I was scared and didn't know who to turn to when I found out that I was named in a $2,000,000.00 lawsuit.
Give this man a cape, because he is a true superhero attorney.
Mr. Barth figured out right away that I should have never been named as a defendant in the case, but we still had to fight it. He clearly explained my options from the beginning and was thorough about what the worst outcome could be.
There were 4 serious charges against me, and Mr. Barth was able to get 3 of them shortly removed and the last charge was negotiated down to a $1,000 payment for me to be removed completely from the case.
I'm thinking, $1000 and I'm out, let's do it. However, Mr. Barth even got that removed and I was released from the case.
I recommend Jason Barth to all in need of a smart and tough negotiating attorney.

When my partner and I decided to formalize our estate planning and establish a trust we contacted several lawyers and found a wide range in prices. Gary was recommended by a good friend and his rate was very reasonable. He offered all of the same services as lawyers charging twice as much.
We met with him and found him to be knowledgeable, answering all of our questions in language we could understand. He clearly outlined the steps needed to create the trust and was always available when we had questions about the drafts. We ended up with exactly what we were looking for and were very happy with Gary's professionalism.

When my husband passed away unexpectedly, I needed to consult with an attorney about estate matters. My husband and I had a joint revocable living trust, and I wanted to make sure that the trust provisions were correctly handled after his passing. David helped me with a Will for my spouse and I; we also had full Power of Attorneys created, and finally, the health care directive was also done. He is very accurate, detailed, and even came to my home to review the documents with us. Combine that with a friendly attitude and pricing that does not gouge, and it's a winning combo. I retained Michael's services to help create a will and end of life directives for my brother who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Mike reached out to my brother and gathered the necessary information for creating the legal documents needed. Given the condition of my brother, Mike was able to gather the information, create the documents in just 2 days, and get the necessary notarized signatures from brother. I have never worked with a more efficient attorney. Mike understood immediately what documents were needed, and he had no issue with ensuring they were all in place quickly. After my mom passed my sister was trustee of mom's trust. We had always been close, but my sister was doing things how she wanted not according to the trust. I was sad over my mom's death and I could hardly believe my sister was now not following mom's wishes. I went to see Ed because he does litigation. He made me feel sane! He listened to me. He understood my pain. He represented me and was able to get my sister to do the trust by the law. He even took the time (and did not charge me) to help my sister and I reconnect. Ed went the extra mile to protect my interests, both in the family trust my mom left and in my family. I am thankful I went with Ed. Not all lawyers are just like the jokes we all hear. My partner and I dropped in to Mr. Wingerden's office this week while seeking counsel for my partner's criminal case. Long story short the SCC sheriff unlawfully arrested my partner (who is a retired criminal) & falsified the police report - quite poorly as a matter of fact (I give him an "F" for effort...) The public defender neither followed up with us nor provided the discovery we on several occasions requested, so 2 days before court we were extremely desperate after leaving the Public Pretender's office as (again) he was nowhere to be found. We dropped by Richard's office where we just so happened to catch him. He wasn't working that day but had stopped by the office briefly. I informed him that we had legal coverage through ARAG offered by my employer, and was hoping he could assist us considering he is a ARAG network attorney. Unfortunately, Richard doesn't handle criminal cases via ARAG anymore (only Family & Estate) but he sat down with us for an hour or so and did a free consultation. He listened patiently and even took notes as my partner recalled the events and facts surrounding his case, and as we voiced our concerns/frustrations. Richard was very easy to talk to and has a personality that makes you feel like you're talking to a friend. I really wanted to sign him on to help us fight our case despite the fact ARAG would not cover it. I explained that I would be getting a large tax return any day now, and would spend it all on him and pay the rest out of pocket. Other attorneys (like the one I hired years ago for a DUI case) would tell me to sign on the dotted line and not think twice about it. Not Richard - he said that he didn't feel that is was right to let us hire him since our financial situation is already a challenge, and he didn't want to take all our money. His compassion extended even further when he told us that despite this, we could call him should we have any questions or need advice at any point in the future for this case or anything else. He did give us some solid advice, which I then did utilize when the Public Pretender called our name 5 minutes before court. I reiterated what Richard had advised, and when my partner was called in front of the judge that day the PD requested a motion that we be presented with the officer's body cam footage. The prosecutor objected, and although the PD could barely fumble a plausible explanation as to why we needed the body cam footage (because you know...who needs all the evidence in a felony matter anyways, right??? Cops NEVER lie!) the judge ultimately granted the motion to get us that footage. Without telling the PD the points Richard advised, he definitely would not have successfully filed this motion and perhaps wouldn't have even tried. If I ever require legal counsel for Family or Estate litigation I will 100% without a doubt give Richard Wingerden a call. THANK YOU RICHARD, don't stop being A ROCKSTAR with a BIG HEART.

I spoke to Ms. Brown and her paralegal, Carol, a couple of months ago regarding the conservatorship of my daughter, who is in a longterm care facility. I talked to Carol several times before speaking to Ms. Brown. Based upon my experience with a previous attorney, I was taken by the compassion, understanding and kindness that Carol showed me in those initial encounters. She offered me some ideas for handling a particularly difficult situation before setting up an appointment with Ms. Brown. When the need became more pressing, I finally talked to Christine, who took a practical approach to the predicament in which I found myself and in the end, saved me from a prolonged court fight and significant fees. I can't recommend this firm highly enough. In my experience, there aren't many attorneys who will take on conservatorship matters as they can be fraught with emotion and contentiousness. These women have kind hearts and that is rare in the legal profession, whether due to training or personality. I found in this firm that it is possible to have compassion and still be professional.

Bob was referred to me by a dear trusted friend. I purchased a commercial property in 2013 along with 3 other individuals. Those 3 individuals were related to each other, not to me. 3 years later 2 of the 3 individuals approached me about selling my interest to them for $30,000. We had each invested $25,000. I declined their offers. Little did I know my 3 partners had already consulted with realtors, it turned out the property had over a half a million dollars in equity on an initial $100,000 joint investment. I found out months later the property was in escrow and I was never consulted or advised of the sale. These two brothers and their father intended to keep my initial investment and my more than $100,000 profit. You see one of the brothers is an attorney who thinks he is always the smartest guy in the room. It turns out that "Dim Bulb" attorney was no match for Bob Bright. Bob's last name is an incredible accurate adjective for who he is. Bob had 4 business days to effectively secure a temporary restraining order on escrow from the civil court. Escrow closed as scheduled all of the liens and third parties were satisfied and over a half a million dollars remained in the possession of the court. Litigation went on for an entire year. Bob was 10 steps ahead of my conspiring ex-partners at every stage. Bob's research on case law was amazing. My ex-partner, the attorney, was completely out matched. Bob ultimately negotiated a settlement prior to trial. I am not allowed to disclose the terms of the settlement. What I can disclose is that after Bob's fees were paid, my proceeds were far beyond what I would have received had my partners included me in the sale proceedings and not tried to abscond my investment and profit. The bad news is that my ex-partner the attorney will get to keep his law license for now. Bob Bright is beyond honest and he is always accessible.
