I would highly recommend Gordon Lotzkar and the Lotzkar Law Firm. I'm 65 years old and have worked hard Construction Labor for most of my life until I injured my shoulder at the end of 2018. That is when I opened my first "Workers Comp Claim" and
after many Exams, Tests and Scans, an Orthopedic Surgeon told me that I had "Stage 4 Osteoarthritis" on top of other serious complications that would have caused me to need a Shoulder Replacement in the very near future, especially if I kept working at my trade.
I did not seek any legal counsel at the time and had to go back to work "light duty" in spite of my ongoing condition. I then was immediately reinjured after being taken off of "light duty" in middle of 2019! I saw the "Company's Preferred Doctor" that wouldn't even prescribe pain medication, despite the obvious pain I was in. I decided to call a good friend of mine that is an Employment Attorney in Portland to ask his advice. He told me that he would find me good Attorney in Spokane and through his research he gave me a short list and Nick Pontarolo's name was right on top. I called Nick and he took immediate action and control as he represented and guided me through a maze of "BUREAUCRATIC RED TAPE" involving Doctors, Employers, Attorneys, Therapists, Vocational Rehabilitation Councilors and even more.
Because of Nick's connections, I have had one of the premier Shoulder Surgeons in the Country replace my shoulder and some of the best rehabilitation experts throughout the region working with me as well. While all this was going on, I never missed a "Time Loss' compensation check for 4+ years.
I'm now retired, and my claim just closed and without Nick's professional representation and expertise for these last 4+ years, I truly believe that I would have lost everything I've ever worked for my entire life.

My husband was heavily medicated as he was under hospice care for stage 4 cancer. I was medicated due to depression. Mr Curran was recommended to us by Spokane Hospice as someone who would come to our house to update my husband's will. I do not believe Mr Curran did his best work for us. My husband was very distraught and agitated, I did my best not to upset him anymore than necessary, and signed off on his will. Unfortunately, even though he asked if I understood what I was signing off on, I still signed, walked away crying and let the witnesses finish up with the lawyer. I understood that the will said everything was going to his children, but I also assumed I could contest the will, as signing was an act of kindness to a dying man, who repeatedly told me not to worry, that I was being taken care of. When Mr Curran left our home, he took my phone with him. It was three days of me looking before he called to say he had it.
When my husband passed away his sisters were the executors of the estate. Imagine my suprise when 5 weeks after his passing, after living in this house for 10 years, I was served with an eviction notice... 3 days to get out, served on me by his sister and written up by none other than Mr Curran. Was he my husband's lawyer or his sister's lawyer? I felt there was some conflict of interest... probably wrong on that point, but still I don't think he took in my husband's mental state, or mine, into consideration. He most certainly did not consider what happened to me afterwards, and Oh My Gosh. He took my phone.

Look no Further! I do not even know how to start or express my sincere Gratitude for this family ran law firm. If your like me you have spent hours/days to try and find someone to hear you out, once you finally get a meeting, you feel hesitant because you feel like most of the other firms are there to treat you like a number and another paycheck.
:ets put it this way, My L&I Claim Manager said this, Todd and his Law firm is unique among the rest of them and its unheard of for most law firms once they lock you into a contract to be willing to be consistent, as responsive and willing to do what's ethically and morally right for you. I had my workers compensation claim approved quickly with the help of Todd and his family (Law firm) compared to when I was trying to do it on my own it was like pulling teeth. Which don't do it, it really adds insult to injury and the extra stress makes the recovery even harder.
I had blown out my lower back on the job but I think the injury doesn't matter as some lawyers say they are experts for your specific injury and others may not be. IMO this is an attempt to convince you to go with them but Todd Doran has the experience and any case relevant to Washington Workers compensation or an L&I claim is relevant to his practice in my opinion because ethics and understanding play a greater weighted roll when your talking about life changing injuries and looking for someone to help you for the long term.
I could say more but it would become a book and I wasn't paid to write this, I was represented by Todd Doran and his Law office and truly appreciated what he did for me. I wish his google page was at the top of the list when you search, Workers Compensation lawyers Spokane wa because it would have saved me about a week of calling around and going through the riga-morol of vetting the good, bad and the righteous.

I got hurt at work in 2004 and had to stop working due to my injuries in 2008. After several surgies on my hands/thumbs and retraining attempts, I realized I needed help.

He is very respectful, understanding, and caring. He answers questions in a timely manner. When I went through financial hardship he did not take any money for four months. While I thought this would be easy and even considered not hiring an attorney as everything seemed straight forward with no contest, what came to light very early on is that my husband’s attorney was incompetent, reckless and sloppy with his work. While my husband had paid 5x the amount that I was paying, Mary Sakaguchi caught numerous mistakes which would have led to a prolonged divorce process. Her careful eye to detail and attention prevented that from happening and expedited the whole process which actually made me less fearful and the entire process less traumatic. I cannot convey how much this impacted me in a positive way. I am grateful for her immense knowledge of the law and watching out for my best interest all the while communicating with compassion and kindness.

I hired Mr. Abbarno part way into my Child Custody/Child Support case. He came into a mess and had to fix and re-do things from a previous attorney I had. He did! I'm Canadian. I was in Seattle last June. I had a beer too many. I was charged with DUI. At my age and being a foreign national I was in trouble. I first spoke with Mr. Phillipson's law partner. She's amazing. Ms. Lundin assured me the process would be handled by herself and Mr. Phillipson.
I had a very good case. I was over the limit but registered .085. The law process is enormous. Do not proceed without calling this law firm. The amount of money I spent was very small compared to the imsurance implications alone.
We did not go to trial. A good lawyer is your best friend in any legal proceeding. I couldn't have been more pleased with the end result. I did not lose my licence. Mr Phillipson is very well respected within the WA legal community. I made two very brief trips back to Seattle and the matter was dealt with.
When you've been criminally charged in WA state, call Mr Phillipson. It will be the best phone call you will ever make.
