Russ, in short, is a wonderful man and lawyer. Not only did he take the time to get to understand me as a person, he did a great job with my legal needs. His approach worked well. The personal attention that Russ gave me was very much appreciated but not expected based on my past experience with other lawyers I have used. I wrote to Lorna at the end of my 2.5-year custody battle - "Words are inadequate to express my gratefulness", and it's true. Lorna has been on my side for that long, not only as my counsel, but to me, also a friend, and a mentor.
I remember talking to a dozen attorneys who all turned down my case because of its complexity - a divorce that invovled domestic violence, dependency, immigration, and relocation - yet Lorna was the only attorney that took genuine interest in my case, and she did not even charge me for our first 2-hour consultation. She actually read through over 3000 pages of my dependency case. She always responds promptly, sometimes even after office hours, she is thorough and detailed, insightful and empathic. She remained a delightful spirit despite my ex's constant threats, harassment, and accusation directed at her.
Even though I could not continue to afford her representation toward the end of my case, and chose to represent myself in a 3-day trial, she guided me through every step to make sure I was prepared and capable. And I won, even with some extra icing on the cake I did not expect. The judge said he has not seen anyone go pro-se without an attorney and could carry out the whole trial like I did in his 14 years of experience, but I credited Lorna for her guidance. I chair the board of a large condo building in Portland that hired Tony to reach attractive settlements in two separate building issues. I recommend him for his willingness to help legal committees avoid the intra-building anger that accompanies such unfortunate events and his readiness to settle as soon as attractive terms can be achieved.
The first complaint we had was for a piece of building equipment. We had initially retained a different lawyer but quickly became concerned that her desire to litigate until all appeals were exhausted wasn't in keeping with the low-drama solution our owners wanted. After switching, Tony negotiated a settlement that avoided court by tying any future payments to actual future repairs instead of insisting on an upfront check.
Our second issue was much larger in both dollars and breadth but the board wanted to go with an attorney that would guide the case to a good compromise and try to avoid spiraling into never ending appeals. Tony prepared for trial throughout the case and pre-trial motions were a big part of setting the stage for a very successful settlement but always focused on the goal: a pre-trial settlement that would fully protect owners. Our owners wanted the pain that litigation causes to be recognized by their counsel and have that counsel deliver results; Tony did so.

I chair the Board of Directors at the Encore (177 unit high-rise condo in Portland, OR). The Encore condo owners association entered into an engagement agreement with Tony Rafel in August 2012 for general counsel and other legal services following turnover of condo association responsibility from the developer to owners.
Since that time Mr. Rafel has provided very effective legal service to the Encore on a wide range of important matters, including negotiating successful agreements on building defect, mechanical and plumbing system problems, as well as advising and supporting the Board on contracts, resolutions and policy and rules matters.
As volunteer Board members, we appreciate Tony's solid knowledge and experience in condo association law and especially defect claims. He is able to communicate complex legal and technical issues in a way that homeowners can understand and take appropriate action through the condo owners association and the Board.
Tony is very responsive to telephone and email inquiries and readily available to meet with the Board or property management staff, often during evening meetings. I had an IRA investment that had gone bad due to the neglect of the manager of the hedge fund in which the IRA was invested. Tony met with me, and quickly got up to speed on the 6" stack of documents supporting my complex situation. Since the hedge fund was located in Oregon, and I live in Washington state, it was imperative that my attorney be licensed in both states, which Tony is. Thanks to his comprehensive grasp of the situation, he wrote a compelling letter to the hedge fund manager on my behalf. Fortunately, we did not have to resort to filing a lawsuit, but Tony instead was able to negotiate an excellent settlement. The settlement took several months to negotiate, but Tony kept after it, and made sure it didn't languish. After the settlement agreement was signed, he kept on top of the payment schedule, and even had to press for payment in a couple of instances. At this point, all but the final payment have been received, and I fully expect to receive that final one as well! Throughout the process, Tony responded quickly to my emails, and was very professional. He provided sound advice, and was a firm negotiator on my behalf. He was a delight to work with, and I highly recommend him!

Talbot refused to take my case when Ben was under him. Ben saw my case and called me 3 days later and he took my case and won. I was a scared 21 year old and he made me feel okay with the whole process. He told me from day 1 that the insurance had 3 years before court and it would take them almost 3 years to agree to settle. He was honest and compassionate. I would hire him again if I ever needed his help.

With the caveat that I did not end up proceeding with litigation, I found both Mr Anderson and Mr Mitchell to be exceedingly professional and timely in their responsiveness to my inquiries. They easily could have recommended proceeding with litigation, but instead recommended against it as despite a strong case and likelihood of their own personal benefit secondary to fees, even a positive outcome was unlikely to be beneficial to me. They certainly put my interests ahead of their own.

Bill Robison is an excellent and experienced personal injury attorney.I was hospitalized from an auto accident. As a lawyer he is brilliant, aggressive when needed, thoughtful, confident, considerate, calm under fire, and most importantly has impeccable judgment. In addition he is a walking law library, and because of the depth of his knowledge and experience, able to think "out of the box" and with tremendous creative skill. As a client this was a huge advantage.
When our son was tragically killed by a negligent driver I immediately called David. I didn’t really consider a different lawyer. He was the clear choice. He will always do the "right" thing and fight for justice, regardless of the time and energy needed and the insurance company’s unlimited financial resources. He’s was all in. The value of this to our family simply can't be overstated. David Beninger, both professionally and as a person, is one of a kind.
David represented our family in a lawsuit where our son, a young man in his late 20s with a new wife and a baby on the way, was killed by a negligent driver while on his way to work. Initially the insurance company tried to blame our loved one for causing his own death. Many lawyers would have accepted the conclusions of the so called "experts" and insurance company, and turned us away. Not David. He instigated a thorough and comprehensive investigation that showed, through engineering and reconstruction, there was no fault on the part of our son. He was the innocent victim, not the cause. Through David's hard work we learned the company who employed the driver, either knew or should have known the driver had no business being behind the wheel of a truck. Without David's unfailing belief in our case our family, including his new wife and unborn child, would have been out in the cold.
David cared for our family with unfaltering compassion, and answered each and every phone call any of us made to his office almost immediately. Our family was in the throws of the worst tragedy of our lives when David took on our case. David took the weight of the day to day dealing with the legal aftermath, leaving us the ability to begin healing, resulting in a well-founded a sense of security.
David, and his carefully chosen partners and staff, were all there for not just me, but for our entire family through a lengthy and complex battle to hold those responsible for the tragic unnecessary death of our son responsible. At our request he successfully made sure we were largely insulated from the horrific facts of our case, to the extent that was reasonable under the circumstances. That was a blessing.
I think it's also important to comment on David as a person. He told us what happened when we asked, even if it was not what we wanted to hear. David cares about people first. To that end he is extremely generous with his time. He wanted to know about our family. It was important to him to know who our family is and who our son was. He wanted to get to know our family: it wasn’t a chore. Did our son like fishing? What were his favorite hobbies? Did he enjoy playing soccer? Was he a Seahawks fan? How many children did he want? What was his personality?
David couldn't change what happened, but as a person, not just as a lawyer, he made it clear that our family came first. What he could do was find justice our son and our family. His result far exceeded our expectations and assured the security of his widow and daughter. As a 2 time client and a lawyer myself when my family had an overwhelming life changing trauma, there was only one lawyer who came to mind to help our family, that was David Beninger. David is in a league of his own. I highly recommend him.

I had the opportunity to hire Mr. Beard on two separate occasions. One was a career ending injury from commercial crab fishing in Alaska. Back at the end of 2003. He worked tirelessly on this lawsuit until the end. Which took almost two full years to settle. He kept in contact and informed on every issue of this case. With vary favorable results for me. Then in 2012 I was given the chance to try a return to the commercial fisheries. All was going good for the first few seasons. Then on Halloween night. A crew member lost control of a crab pot. Striking me in the head. Leaving me with a severe head injury. After receiving zero help for my injuries from the vessels owners. I had no choice but to again seek out Mr. Beard for his help. Without hesitation, he was helping me. Instantly things changed. My doctors started actually helping me. Bills started to get paid. And the owners of the boat finally admitted that I was hurt on the boat. Since they wouldn't acknowledge this before Mr. Beard stepped into help. When he did, things happened fast. My head injury left me with a TBI which was severe. Which led to many medications and bad side effects. In the end. Because of all of this. I tried to take my life. Mr. Beard stood by my side. Still doing everything possible for me and my family, to get through this horrific ordeal. Which thankfully I did. He never gave up on me. When many others had. This may have been possibly one of the most difficult cases he may have ever faced. In my opinion, I'm sure it was. Since the TBI, suicide attempt, coma and very long hospital stay. And the many issues involved in any lawsuit. After about three years of his relentless work he put in for me. He secured me a favorable settlement, that will let me live my life, as I had before these horrific injuries. He will work non-stop. Without exception for you. He will tell you straight, the pros, cons and risks of the lawsuit. Mr Beard, in my opinion. Is one of the most knowledgeable, best versed attorney in the maritime field. In the end, he is one of the best. I wouldn't want anyone else representing me, when my whole future is at stake.

Look no further for a lawyer Greg Price is at the top of his game. Very friendly and quick to deal with throughout my accident settlement he left no stone un turned. He convinced my insurance company to take half of what they were asking for. I was in a hit-and-run accident which has left me with permanent injuries. Managing my pain requires daily medication and additional medical treatment. I did not have PIP; fortunately, I did have UIM. I was thankfully able to receive the maximum amount of UIM coverage available from the insurance company.
Jeffery intently listened to me and captured my concerns. After receiving the demand letter that he drafted on my behalf, the insurance company tendered the policy limits. They also paid to repair my vehicle, which was a high amount due to the extensive damage. Everything was settled out of court.

After I was injured by a negligent doctor, I selected Ms. Morrow as my attorney because of her history as a competent lawyer and a Registered Nurse. It was wonderful to have an attorney who was knowledgeable in the medical aspects of my case; many of the attorneys I initially consulted with had to stop me to explain what certain terms meant, and that was incredibly frustrating for me. I never had this issue with Jane.
In addition to her medical knowledge, Ms. Morrow had an instinctual and intellectual understanding of what to do at every turn in my case. She was always supportive and explained the legal things I did not understand without ever making me feel stupid or burdensome. I really believe that Ms. Morrow cares about her clients' long-term well being. How many lawyers can you truly say care about their clients as people, and not just as case statistics? When we went to mediation he drove way out of his way in the snow to pick me up. That meant he had to go from Seattle to Bellevue then back to Seattle, then brought me back home then he had to go back to Seattle where he lives. I do not write lightly when I say David B. Richardson is trustworthy, (highly) knowledgeable and an overachiever.
