Best consultation I've ever had.

I’m ex military (10 years marine corp) my ex Husband 24 years retired special forces army, He decided after 12 yr marriage (3 kids,)to divorce me, there was no problems prior, he was just unhappy, Thank goodness, I found Mr Burns and his team, they listened to me , and helped me get what I deserved, even when I wanted to throw my hands up, they helped me.

Mr. James Burns represented me in Court for the relocation of my children. He was very professional and well prepared. He helped me stay calm throughout the stressful process. I can’t stress enough how happy I was with the successful outcome. Thanks Mr. Burns!

Mr. Burns and his associates are some of the most professional people I have met. I came across his firm by chance, but am so thankful I did. In addition to being very reasonably priced, he and Debbie both have made sure that I had the best fighting chance in a divorce where nothing is pleasant. They are incredibly well versed in divorce law, and I have no doubt in other areas. If you decide to use his firm, you won't regret it!

Honestly I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this attorney and the staff are way too overwhelmed with their clientele. Many things were never filed that should have been, and he even stated he would represent me and then withdraw (with no reasoning just emailed me that is his plan) and then withdrew the minute court began, leaving me without representation. He never calls back, and honestly did not know anything but basics about my case. What he told me when I originally did a consult it very much different than what he did. No matter his excuse for the poor care he gave me, I highly recommend finding another attorney that will actually view your case as an individual rather than another number or paycheck.

Mr. Burns and the staff Margaret and Debbie worked so quickly and diligently in the best interest of all parties involved. I would 100% recommend for your defense.

I would stay far far away from this guy. His reviews have to be purchased. He represented me for a family law case a few years back and honestly cant believe he is still in business.

Mr Burns promptly returned my call, answered all my questions and navigated me through the very confusing aspects of the situation. He took his time to explain all of the options. Mr. James has successfully closed multiple cases for me, always doing it in a timely organized personal manner. Along with giving me the best resolution possible to my divorce back in 2020. Highly suggest Mr. Burns if you want the best results for your case!

I wouldn’t recommend. He and Debbie (his assistant who you would think is the lawyer) are friendly and nice for consultations but once you pay them they avoid you, they’re very rude, and they don’t prepare for your case. Do not sign the contract if it says non refundable because they will refuse to give you your money back. He represented me for my final hearing of my family law case and refused to properly prep me and my witnesses for trial. Debbie constantly scheduled me for meetings with Mr. Burns but when I would show up she would tell me I wasn’t on the schedule or that Mr. Burns wasn’t in and ask me to come back later. I’ve been his client since April 2022 and he new nothing about my case on 12/08/2022. He was referring to my daughter as a little boy during our trial. I gave him a copious amount of evidence in a binder that he refused to admit in court because as he stated, “I don’t want to admit evidence one by one”. I even made 3 copies because they were constantly missing deadlines. The day Debbie told me to drop the binder off she wasn’t in office, they turned everything in the day before my hearing. Mr. Burns rushed through the hearing because he was ready for lunch. When the judge told him to take time to talk to his client during the trial he would leave the office and go to Debbie and ignore me as his client. He never acknowledged me as a client always addressed Debbie and she lies a whole lot, you would think she really is the lawyer. They didn’t file any motions to help prepare for my hearing or go over the evidence I provided. They Submitted documents passed the deadline. Every time it was time for my hearing someone was sick and he was requesting a continuance yet he was on vacation all summer. I witnessed two other clients walk in complaining about the same things I am complaining about now on this post. I also have another one of his clients information in my trial binder because he was working on their case as if it was mine and isn’t. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Florida Bar. Find another lawyer if you are fighting for your child, this one will not have you or your child’s best interest.
