Our attorney helped us a lot and guided us when we were going through bankruptcy. Whenever the lender gave us the hard time, we call him up and tell him the situation. He would then make a phone a call to the lender or advice us what to do. Thru experience, we made so much phone calls and make complaints but didn't do anything until our Attorney will do the phone call. Yap! to make my story short, It's better to have an attorney to represent you. Having to file for bankruptcy was something I had never imagined having to do, ever. But when life throws you curveballs in succession, being homeless as a single father of two children is not an option. The feeling of failure was overwhelming and I needed a professional to get me through the legal process.
Van Shima was professional and caring throughout the entire process. I was able to easily contact him whenever I had any questions, and his office is conveniently located in downtown Honolulu. I never felt rushed or pressured by him, and always felt he treated me as a person and not just a number. Great with follow ups, and always available to clarify anything.
I would strongly recommend Van Shima to anyone who may be in a similar situation that I was in. An excellent choice.

I had the pleasure of working with Dan for several incidents:
The first was with our landlord who was being unresponsive on our 8+ service requests that had not been responded to for over 2 months. Dan offered advice on the best way to get both the landlord and management company to respond and it worked really well! We had people fixing up our rental house within 48 hours!
The second time was when we wanted to end our lease early. Again, Dan offered advice on the best way to go about this and we were able to satisfactorily end our lease without extra charges.
The third time was when we needed to get our deposit back from our rental company. Dan advised how to approach the landlord and management company and we were able to recover our entire deposit!
Dan's positive, can-do attitude made him a pleasure to work with and helped get us results.

After months of trying to negotiate with my creditor- who refused to budge on their demands-they had added on $2,700 to the original debt for late fees. I could not pay what they were asking- if I could, I would have paid it to begin with. They finally filed to take me to court. I tried to mediate, but they refused and said they would seek judgement. I was in tears. I had just so happened to receive a letter from Bryan the day before offering his service. Something told me to contact Bryan. I am so thankful I did. Brian and his Mom were so helpful in explaining everything and listening to my problem. For a VERY reasonable fee Bryan got the collector to completely dismiss the debt. I owed nothing! And they agreed to remove it from my credit report too! God was watching out for me when he sent me to Bryan. Such a nice, honest man willing to listen and help. I would not recommend any other lawyer.

Attorney Dangler exceeded my expectations. After both consulting with another firm and failing to take care of my debt lawsuit on my own, Mr. Dangler was able to have the case dismissed and I didn't have to pay anything to the debt collector.
Attorney Dangler maintained constant contact with me during the duration of my case, even going so far as to give me a congratulatory phone call when my son was accepted into college. He was very knowledge, blunt in in terms of which solutions were realistic, and guided me through the steps he took during the case in an effort to further educate me on the issues.
Should I need any help or advice when it comes to anything relating to debt, whether or not I absolutely need an attorney, I will be sure to contact Mr. Dangler to at least gain his insight into my options.

I called Nadine at the last minute, on the Thursday before Good Friday (a holiday), to help me with a situation that I felt was quickly sliding away from me. She dropped what she was doing, asked me come to her office, sat with me for a short time and explained to me what she recommended as the next course of action. I agreed with her and she immediately took action. During negotiations with the other attorneys, she kept and continues to keep me updated.
I have never had to use an attorney before and was so nervous about the entire experience. She was very focused and calming. I hope I never need to use her again, but if I ever wind up in a situation where I may need legal advice, I would definitely call her before I called anyone else.

Don was a great deal of help with a very difficult situation . He was able to resolve a number of issues for me with a minimum amount of fuss . I found Steve to be personal and professional simultaneously. This is a feat for most of us, with lawyers being either one or the other and often neither. Steve was focused on my case and successfully found a Chapter 7 solution when the means test made it look improbable.
Steve didn't "sugar coat" the situation, and was very upfront even when he had to say something I didn't necessarily want to hear. There were no "suprises" along the way. Steve was able to mitigate the stress level associated with bankruptcy; which was a tremendous help.
From the standpoint of value, Steve's fees were very reasonable especially considering the level of responsiveness, personal service and results provided. I didn't feel like I was part of a "bankruptcy mill" or being given only cursory attention. In part, I believe, that this is because Steve is a single lawyer firm....bigger isn't always better.
I highly recommend Steve!

Mr. Cotter was able to file a chapter 7 without issues when other bankruptcy lawyers thought it wasn't possible due to the means test. He did not give up when there was clearly a need for bankruptcy protection and researched all aspects of the law to find a solution. If it wasn't for his excellent research skills my financial situation would be very bleak indeed.

I speak to the people who are looking for an attorney who is able to first of all be honest and give an accurate evaluation of your money being spent wisely. We then spoke about how things would play out in the amount of court time, phone calls (BILLED IN QUARTERLY BY THE HOUR) and one on one office strategy meetings. Attorney Cotter before taking one dollar from me, sent me to a tax advisor to see if i would be responsible for the liability if we lost the case. I had seen two other attorneys all saying I had no chance of WINNING, Attorney Cotter saw a posibility and he won my day. He is on his own with a wealth of knowledge and I think this was a key to the success. If you seek one on one personal service and do not care to be a part of the lawyer factory, I am on a 4 month holiday and that is as good as it gets! GOOD LUCK who ever you choose.

I've used Omar for a couple of things and been very happy with his service. He's great about communicating, which not all lawyers are. His fees are reasonable, given the cost of legal issues these days. He gives things to you straight, but lets you make your own decision after laying out all the facts. Mrs Gardner took care of our bankruptcy. She was extremely knowledgable in both the chapter 7 and 13 and helped me to figure out which one was the best at helping our family. She was even able to get 2 mortgage liens stripped because my house was no longer worth the amount of the two equity loans. She was wonderful at making us feel comfortable and always quick at replying to our emails or calling us back when we had questions. I stopped in the office to get her help with out an appointment when I was panicked over my husband having his clearance taken because of our financial problems and she brought me right into her office and wrote a letter for us and made copies of paperwork for us and calmed me down as she worked with her scheduled clients in other offices.
