Comfortable way to be educated concerning all these scams. I feel better knowing I am not the only one who has received many of these scams and how to not be tricked into responding to them.

It was interesting to realize how many clever scams are gong around. For this reason we never pick up phone when it rings and wait for the message or see the caller ID. Yes it is nuisance but well worth. In this age of AI we expect more and more to come.

Very interesting panel. I "semi-forced" my husband to listen to your information as he has come very close a couple of times to being caught up in a scam, although he will deny it. With all the robocalls that we get each day, it has gotten hard to differentiate between truth and scam. Thank you for sharing this topic.

Good Presentation. Scammers and Fraudsters who prey on the elderly are the lowest. I have been involved in a 4 year process of trying to resolve an elaborate cyber scam/fraud which stole a very large part of a retirement account. It was committed against my wife's father (now 94) in 2018=2019. The scam was done by a combination of US citizens located in the USA , and "West Africans" - who seem to have transferred most of the money out of the USA. The good news is - The California Highway Patrol has an excellent cyber crime unit and was able to use its electronic investigative techniques to locate one of the scammers in Texas, charge him, seize his Texas real estate, and extradite him to California. Now 4 years after the fraud, the scammer is going to trial in Sacramento in April 2023. When the criminal's real estate is sold, my father-in law will nearly be made whole. I spent a couple hundred unpaid hours pushing this case along, one advantage of being an almost retired lawyer.
