I have retained Diane Shields for two very difficult cases. One about 13 years ago for my daughter. Atty. Shields worked very hard on her case, and most importantly she won the case.
I seeked her help again recently for myself, remembering her outstanding knowledge of the law and finding solutions for complex real estate tenant/landlord case. Diane Shields, is prompt, she listens to her clients attentively, she processes oral information in a correct matter. She speaks the truth, and charges accordingly. My daughter starts at Southern Oaks tomorrow in Ky, my hometown, thanks to Andrew Rankin. I'm so nervous and excited for this change. I'm even more excited for her. More than anything, the fact that she is so happy about moving, let's me know this is exactly where we are supposed to be. Going through this divorce has been the most heart wrenching experience not just on me, but for my girls. I never imagined being treated by the man I loved for so long in such hateful and slanderous ways. 5 months ago I received a petition for divorce, alimony, sole custody, child support, and a restraining order keeping me within 50 miles of his residence when Im not even from here nor know anyone because I spent 4 years focused solely on my degree and family. Thanks to Mr Andrew Rankin, he gave me the best birthday gift yesterday, the call to tell me to go home. I have my family back despite my ex's tremendous amount of lies and manipulation. Andrew Rankin greatly surpassed my expectations. And probably deserves way more for putting up with my hormonal rants. Catherine represented me in a very difficult case around a move away situation with my child. She spent so many evenings and weekends making sure she had everything prepared for our day in court. Family law is an incredibly tough industry to be in, and Catherine understands that these decisions impact lives. She truly cares and gives 120% in all that she does on your behalf. My case did not have the outcome I had hoped for, but it certainly wasn't for her lack of effort or preparation (sometimes you get a judge on a bad day). I hired Megan Harris for my divorce and custody case. Megan helped me obtain custody of my 3 young children. I think that's a huge feat for a dad in the first place. Issues arose post divorce and re-hired megan and she was there for me every step of the way. She is always available, she even was available for me on weekends. She will fight for you, communication is immediate, she will help you see the reality of the situation, and help facilitate agreements so not to drag things out of no reason. Attorney Oberg is a very sharp attorney that hasn't been desensitized to the emotional and stressful challenges of divorce and custody situations even after over 30 years of practice. She is a consummate professional and has a unique combination of paradoxical skills for an attorney - she is a demanding and fierce negotiator, yet is always respectful; she is genuinely nice and caring, yet fair and firm. Moreover, Attorney Oberg has her ego in check and has a sense of humor to boot. She explains case law in a way that the layman can understand and covers all bases (short vs. long term impact, likely scenarios, and best practice strategies). She's very responsive to client needs and is creative in her approach to resolutions. Barry was referenced to me for his legal knowledge and temperament. He was my second lawyer (make a change if it does not feel like your lawyer is on your team!) for divorce and was the perfect fit, as it is important for there to be a good level of understanding. This person is critical to your life and future lives of your children, post-divorce.
Barry listened to my endless jabbering, but at a point he educated me on what was critical and what was a complete waste of time. He was so right on many occasions, it was not even funny. In mediation, he even called what would be happening before it happened VERBATIM!!! Listen to this advisor - he is the real deal and he gives a sh-- about his clients. Don't waste time on crap he says is a waste of time (and often money). Relax a bit - I know it is hard to believe for some, like me.
Reasonably available during the paperwork process, but 100% available when it really matters (when the iron was hot).
Good man and lawyer. I recommend highly.

Katherine is a fantastic attorney, and one I would recommend to anyone struggling with a family law issue. Jennifer and her group are excellent. After a year of representing me in my divorce proceedings my original attorney realized that my case was way too broad and complicated for her to handle, so she recommended Jennifer Frank. I then retained Jennifer after my meeting with her. She is very detailed, experienced and above all her communication is excellent in the court room. I was quite comfortable talking to her about my all my concerns.
Jennifer saw my case to a successful end, even though my ex-husband was making it difficult and caused the case to prolong for longer than it should have been, Jennifer’s strategy was always successful to make him comply.
Her group is also excellent. They are very prompt, and made sure I was kept in the loop and updated with all documents, proceedings etc.

When I met Ron Ogens in January 2014, I will never forget what he told me for the rest of my life. I was distraught, depressed and downright miserable. I thought my miserable marriage would never end. Ron put his arm around me and said "I promise, everything will be OK". The process of my bitter divorce was horrible. At some points in the process, I thought I was going to lose my mind. I would sometimes call Ron with temper flaring from the "drama of the day" caused by my wife.
