Like most, I never expected that I would find myself going through a divorce. This, however, was not the worst part of it. I was served with a temporary DVRO from my ex-wife that was full of the most slanderous statements that I ever could have imagined and an expressed desire to move out-of-state with our 6-year old daughter. I was feeling scared, desperate, and nearly without hope.
I was referred to Mr. Burton by a dear friend of mine and I wasn't sure what to expect. However, within a short period of time, he and I found our way to craft what we believed to be a winning strategy.
We were outspent 5 to 1 and went through a grueling six day trial. But, at the end, we kept my daughter with me and I feel a tremendous amount of gratitude to the work and dedication to the truth that Mr. Burton demonstrated during our shared ordeal.

Besides (or rather in spite of) his many years of experience, Randall Burton offers some of the most competitive rates for comparable services of anyone practicing in the state.

I highly recommend attorney Furman. He handled my daughter's case carefully and confidently. He spent nearly two hours with us in person after an initial phone consultation. He treated my 14 year old with respect and established a report with her that was truly remarkable. He helped her (and me) understand the process and what to expect. He answered all of our questions; at no point did I ever feel like he was in a rush to get to his next case. He kept us informed every step of the way.
Attorney Furman was passionate about my daughter's case, and did an excellent job advocating for her. The result was a favorable ruling in the case. When all was said and done, I found the cost to be extremely reasonable. There were no overstated hours charged, no unnecessary expenses. I would gladly have paid 3 or 4 times the fee for the level of service Attorney Furman provided us.

After meeting with a few divorce lawyers I was left with a cold feeling. I felt they didn't care about my case unless i was paying them. I met with Sandy and he was very informative. He pointed out things in my first Separation Agreement draft that my ex wife's lawyer drew up didn't protect me. I hired him on the spot. He went above and beyond to make sure the final separation agreement was fair and made the most stressful time of my life seem less stressful. We hired Jamra and Jamra for a volatile divorce and were super happy to have Michael Hanasab handle our case. There were lots of scary issues to contend with regarding child custody and allegations about unfairness in the divorce proceedings. Michael gave the best advice, although I wasn’t the best at following it, I did end up getting full custody of my children. I wish that all of this never happened but am very grateful to Michael for being the voice of reason. He was able to defend a lot of the unjust accusations and kept a calm demeanor throughout all of the drama. I will always be appreciative of Michael’s knowledge of the law and his ability to apply it with such precision. He is honest, reliable and professional. I was in a very stressful and critical phase of my divorce where I was being accused of some pretty untrue, but lethal things that could have caused me to not get the custody of my children I wanted and deserved. I hired Mike and he came in there and made the "clutch free-throws" when it counted. He responded perfectly to the opposing council. We ended up going to court and he walked in their looking highly polished and confident, not arrogant and made the opposing council so nervous, they had no choice but to back down and give me what was fair and reasonable.

I hired Michael (along with Grace Jamra) in 2011. I came over from another big firm as I had been disappointed with the direction of my ongoing custody case. At the time I hired Michael I was facing more litigation and hearings and an evaluation. Michael was able to talk to opposing counsel and made every attempt to calm the situation. He knew my case inside and out, was reachable when I needed him and guided me through some very tough times. When it came to the evaluation Michael was instrumental in helping to pick the right evaluator (something that took quite a while) and met with me on several occasions to answer any and all questions I had about the process. Needless to say, my case turned around and in the end Michael was able to get opposing party to settle (even though opposing party was adamant about fighting and going to trial).
As for cost, I had to laugh at the negative review here. I was charged triple that amount at my previous firm in a matter of months. The billing with Michael @ Jamra & Jamra was incredibly fair and hugely different billing practices than some of the bigger firms. I never once felt I was being over billed or double/triple billed like I did at my previous big firm. Anyone who is going into custody litigation needs to do research and realize that it is an expensive area of law and the more litigation involved the higher the costs. I wouldn't think twice before recommending Michael to others if they needed a good and competent custody/divorce lawyer.

When I made the determination to retain a lawyer for my divorce, I paid the money for three separate consultations to ensure I would get the best legal representation possible. Save yourself the money and hire Paula from the beginning. When I read the very first letter from Paula to the opposing counsel, I knew immediately that I made the right decision. Between that one single letter and the threat of the exhibits Paula intended to use, the opposing counsel agreed to settle the case without going to trial. I was even surprised to receive money back. Paula did a fantastic job.

Paula instantly made me feel safe and taken care of when I became her client. She and Julie are highly organized and knowledgeable about my case. Hiring an attorney who is going to play, what I would say is the most important part in protecting your parental rights and the best interest of your children can be a huge challenge. To make a long story shorter, I had met with three other attorneys and initially hired a firm who had a great marketing campaign and a good pitch man on site, I spent over $1800.00 and all that I got in return was aggravated, before I parted ways with them.
I spent a lot of time on line looking at reviews and reading bio's and talking to a few attorneys over the phone. I can't say exactly what it was that made me decide to go and meet with Paula, but I can tell you that it was the best decision I could have made.
I walked into the office and Julie, Paula's assistant (also a rock star) handed me a questionnaire, I filled it out and waited about 15 minutes and then was walked back to Paula's office. She asked me to tell my story, eventually stopping me, because I rambler and it would have cost me a lot of money, b the time I ran out of words. I mentioned the other attorneys that I had met with... They all told me that my ex wife had my boys the majority of the time, but Paula said "You have your boys 52% of the time, I disagreed and told her she was wrong, she slid a printout across the table and said "Is this your schedule?" I told her it was, she said "Then you have your boys 52% of the time.
I hired Paula, because she cut to the chase, she didn't waste my time and didn't allow me to waste my time, by rambling on about things that weren't relevant to my case. I left her office and before I made it back to my house, she had already contacted my sons private school, to verify what I pay for their school and informed me that I shouldn't be paying any child support. I had been paying for 9 years. The first firm I hired had figured it at $519.00 per month. Also, after having my boys pretty much every Thursday through Sunday for 8 years, the judge would have set temporary custody for every other weekend, but Paula stood up and said "You can't do that your honor" and we were able to maintain a better schedule.
Todays date is August 21st, 2020, I hired Paula in February of this year. We went to trial August 19-20 and I couldn't have been more pleased. She was prepared and to say she presented a very organized case, would be an understatement. I knew that she and her assistant Julie had worked really hard, but I was really in awe of what had culminated from their efforts. Paula was very aggressive in her presentation and didn't let the apposing counsel get away with anything.
We won't know the outcome of the trial until the judge reviews the case, but I can't imagine anything, but success, based on Paula's performance, both in the court room and before. I would highly recommend hiring Paula for any family law issues.

Emily (aka "Sandy") Bair is a woman of immense intellect, with the determination to do her best for her client. She is a woman of few words, but every word she speaks counts. She will never ramble on either in her office or in court. Judges respect that. Her preparation is meticulous. She will cut you off if you rattle on, to remind you that you are paying her to hear you vent, and that there are cheaper people to vent to.
My case had been going on for seven years when she took it over. I had just been through a hearing using another attorney. Having already been found in contempt, I hired Sandy Bair who appealed part of the court order and convinced the court to reduce my penalties as the action giving rise to the contempt had been performed by me immediately following and in accord with the specific and express legal advice of my former attorney.
Ms. Bair is now handling my QDRO/pension problems as my divorce was in 2004 and I still have not received the pension benefits I was awarded in the divorce. QDRO's are a very specific part of the law that is very complicated. She has done much legal research in that area and is very well-versed in the particulars of QDROs.
If you are looking for sweet and chatty, don't hire Sandy. If you are looking for an intelligent, experienced, straight-talking, hard-working, honest lawyer who can cut through legal BS- she is all that. I also think she is a female lawyer that men would be comfortable hiring.

Ms. Bair handled a very contentious divorce case and subsequent alimony modification action for me. My ex-wife tried hard to litigate numerous extraneous issues, engage in abusive discovery and take unnecessary depositions. I am an attorney myself, and she worked to avoid inflaming a hostile plaintiff and move the case to a settlement. She is known for those skills.

We used Stephanie on two occasions. Initially, we hired Stephanie Ames to do an adoption for my husband and I. As with many family cases, it can be an emotional roller coaster. Since this was our first adoption experience we had many concerns, questions, and fears. From the beginning we were given advice, straight forward,and most importantly correct information. Not only was she there for us as parents, she was an advocate for our daughter.

Jamie was able move my divorce case forward and to bring the process to a close in a very reasonable period of time after my previous attorneys were unable to get resolution over a several year period. The end result was much better than I expected.
She was able to navigate all the issues in a firm, polite and reasonable manner that allowed all parties involved to come to a satisfactory agreement. In my opinion, it was her focus, determination, legal knowledge, reputation and experience in family law that made the difference.
Jamie also showed that she could handle all the necessary QDRO’s involved with my case, including working with additional council to provide acceptable documents for Railroad Retirement, pension plans, IRAs and 401k plans. She followed up on all the necessary components and made sure they were prepared and submitted for execution appropriately.
As far as working with me as a client, she was patient, empathetic, nonjudgmental and was able to carefully explain all the components of the process in a plain, easy to understand language. She identified the road blocks, explained my options and carried out my preferences.
Her fees were reasonable and her invoices were clear, accurate and precise.
Although my general divorce experience wasn’t pleasant, Jamie made the process much less stressful. I highly recommend her for any family related legal matter, especially those involving children or with complex financial concerns. The service she provided was worth every penny paid.

Natalie made the best out of a bad situation. Divorce sometimes comes out of nowhere, and when children are involved the emotional toll that takes can be paralyzing. Natalie and her paralegal Diana did an amazing job walking me through the process with great communication and advise. Many times she had to ground me in the facts even when the outcome seemed to be unfair. Her knowledge of the law and the process made things turn out the best I could hope for. I can’t say enough positive things about Chelsea. I was the party of a nasty divorce with a narcissist; which is the worst divorce to encounter. I couldn't have asked for a better lawyer. Ms. Harman was very kind and understanding of the situation I was in. Not only did she look out for my best interest, but also my child's as well. Tisha is very knowledgeable. But what I adore most about her is that she is unbiased and I am not her client. My son is. She is a dedicated an impartial advocate of the child's best interest.

I retained Sana as my attorney in my child custody case for my three kids. My divorce lawyer (in another state) did nothing but rack up my bill and cost me at every turn, while doing very little for me. Sana however did an absolutely fantastic job of keeping me informed and on track, helping me to make the right decisions when I wasn’t clear. She was able to not only help me navigate around an ex wife who is less than agreeable, but ultimately won me full custody of my kids as well.
To say she helped me is an understatement. She didn’t just help me, and she wasn’t just an attorney. She was able to see through a lot of the fog that was thrown our way, and helped me achieve something I never thought possible.
From my experience not all attorneys are equal, and from what I’ve seen Sana is by far better than any attorney I’ve ever dealt with.

I met with Brooke because she came highly recommended by a friend. I was very impressed. She clearly explained the process and where the concerns were in my case. After I hired her, we went to temporary orders because I needed maintenance ASAP. She was fully prepared. My testimony was clear and well thought out to address all of my needs. My ex's lawyer was not nearly as prepared, and when Brooke got to ask my ex question, she did such a good job of showing his lies to the court.
