My two sons were subjected to emotional and physical abuse by their mother and her boyfriend while living with them in California. I live in Chicago and had one son who stayed to live with me. For 1.5 years I was unable to contact nor visit with the second son who remained with his mother in California. Mattis Law drafted a perfect filing for our case presentation, including statements written and executed by my wife's father, step mother and sister which resulted in my Illinois son continuing to reside with me and a court ordered visitation for the son living in California.
Amelia Mattis is organized, intelligent, poised and calm even when opposing counsel's behavior was obnoxious. Her suggestions to me for preparation of the court ordered mediation were perfect and kept me from falling into the traps being set by my ex-spouse. The office staff of Cassidy and Cheyenne were superb and I truly felt that we were a team united for the same goal.

Amelia is walks into court cute as a button, but every word out of her mouth is so precise, factual, and loaded with information. When she speaks, she does it in a way that settles all the dust and allows her verbal argument and points to be not only heard but received. She is smart as a whip, knows her stuff like the back of her hand, will work with you to get what you want but won’t lead you astray if she doesn’t think it’s doable. She’s compassionate, professional, and will absolutely work wonders for you. Highly recommend!
Unlike a lot of attorneys, she will advocate hard for you and your children, but without bringing the drama, antagonism and inflammatory/smear campaign into the mix.
Her office staff is wonderful too. Cassidy has been so helpful in getting communications to and from myself and anyone else who needs to be looped in.
So, so thankful for Mattis Law. This is the first time in my 4 year custody case that I’ve felt like I was in good hands and feel some sort of comfort.

Teresa is an amazingly gifted attorney with a supreme knowledge of the law that plays out epically in the court room. To sum up my personal experience with Steve: I was wrongfully accused of abusing my daughter by my ex and thanks to these committed individuals, I was not only exonerated of these false allegations but Steven went above and beyond to clear my name by finding crucial facts and fighting hard for me in and outside of court. Our family lives in the Mainland, and we were in a desperate need for legal support in Hawaii when I approached Steve. Ms. Pratt immediately upon receiving my case acquired all the standard time I was to be alloted with children that previous representation never acknowledged. Ms. Pratt only contacted me necessarily. I didn't realize this at first, however it let me know she's not just trying to run up a bill. She is well informed of the law and was strategically aware on how to pursue my desired outcome. Although life's issues were taking place in her world she never dropped the ball on the most important thing in mine. The end result was fair for both parents and kids. I was afraid that my divorce, just like most, was going to be long, arduous and painful. As a result I interviewed numerous divorce lawyers in Tucson and found each had a different take on my situation. Obviously I was frustrated, until someone recommended I look into retaining Mr. Lewis.

We have worked with Miranda Bouchey and can highly highly recommend her. She genuinely cares about our family and works incredibly hard on our case. Miranda was amazing! I knew I had an uphill battle going into our case since I wasn’t the primary care taker and my ex wife wanted to relocate with our son. I knew that I also had a lot going for me since I have always been there and have provided for my son since his birth as well. Miranda took my case on short notice and short preparation, but got up to speed quicker than I anticipated. She gave me the best possible legal advice (the to-do’s and not to-do’s) the entire 5-6 months she worked with me. When it came down to actually going to court, she guided and prepared me on exactly what was going to happen before even getting into the courtroom, so all I had to do was remember and execute what she told me to do. She was already in the courthouse before I arrive at the courthouse (which I’m always early) and I really appreciated that. She was attentive in the courtroom and honed in on what was important to the judge’s decision making. She won my case for me because she’s an amazing attorney and knew what to say and what not to say. I will be forever grateful for Miranda and her talent as an attorney! These last few years in have been dealing with hostage situation in the form of my Ex wife who choose to leave our marital home with our child. My previous representation IS a wreck and I had to find someone that actually could do the job.
Gina not only provided patience, logical standpoints and understanding but she also treated me like a person and not just a case or an income. Given the trash heap I brought to her in the form of my case, she did the best that she could to help clean up. She is not afraid to stand up and represent you and deflect wrong doing or poor decisions that could damage your life worse than it currently could be. If I would have stuck with my previous representation I honestly believe that I would not even have a chance to see my daughter at all.
If you want someone who will have your best interest in mind when it comes to you as a person in need, Gina and her staff are hands down the team you need.

Gina Grady of this lawy firm recently represented me for a case involving a divorce with children. She helped me settle this divorce, get a contempt against the children’s other parent for refusing visitation and in the end I got custody of my children because of their previously unstable living environment.
Both the firm and Mrs Grady were very professional and very responsive. They allowed me to do as much leg work as I could to help with the case and Mrs Grady would use all resources available, including conferring with other attorneys at the firm, to ensure that everything was handled and accurately and proficiently as possible.
If I have any more legal matters requiring an attorney with this case, I will be coming back to this law firm to assist me in getting it handled.

I have used Lisa Coplan-Gardner on several occasions for child support issues. Every case has been ruled in my favor due to her hard-work, diligence and compassion. I always felt that my case was a priority for her and her entire staff. I have a special needs child and a complex case. At our initial consultation, before I even hired her, she began looking up information for me and guiding me. At no time did I ever feel that it was about money for her. I was surprised at her eagerness to help me, educate me and fight for me and my children. Her kindness, understanding and patience was a breath of fresh air after having spoken to 3 other attorneys who made me feel as if I were a number. They were cold and unconcerned. Lisa treated me like a friend. When it was obvious that my complex case was going to cost more than I could afford at the time, she was sympathetic. She allowed me to make payments to her and often discounted some of her rates. She also suggested ways that I could reduce the costs by handling some things myself instead of just sucking every penny out of me that she could get. By me being proactive in helping with my case, it helped me be more prepared and educated in the courtroom in front of the judge. It also helped me to prepare for what is proving to be a long-term battle against the father of my children. The advice and education that she gave me through the entire process is proving to be invaluable. She never kept me in the dark, she was always available to talk to me, and her staff was AMAZING AND HELPFUL!!!! The thing that most impressed me about Lisa was that she was always honest with me - a trait that is not commonly associated with her profession - even when it was something that I didn't want to hear. She seems to be well liked and respected by other attorneys and the judges seem to respond well to her. She is a sweet, tiny, little thing, but she might as well be 10 feet tall in the courtroom. I have the utmost confidence in her abilities and have referred her to others. They have had equally satisfying experiences with her firm. There is no question that I will utilize her services again in the future. Overall, I don't think that you could hire a better Family Law Attorney.

I divorced 13 years ago and made the mistake of not requiring my ex-husband to refinance our mortgages. For the last 6 years, my ex consistently missed mortgage payments which destroyed my credit. Every attorney I spoke to about my situation said that I didn't have a case. Then I met Thad. My ex was forced to sell his house. Thankfully he sold it when he did because he hadn't made a payment in over 6 months and the house was in pre-foreclosure. Now I'm finally off of the mortgages after 13 years. Custody modification is often even more challenging than an initial custody proceeding. The "material change" and "best interest" standards are rather subjective and a judge is not inclined to change a custody agreement without overwhelming evidence that it would improve the child's situation.
Despite the inherent difficulty, Ms. Russell achieved the exact result we set out to achieve in my custody modification case. She is an incredible strategist and litigator with a total command of MD custody law. Every part of the plan was well-considered and well-executed.
I would highly recommend Emily for any family law matter. I would also recommend listening to her when she provides advice. Unlike some attorneys, she doesn't hedge on every recommendation to the point that you're making all the decisions without knowing the possibilities of how those decisions will turn out. She will provide sound advice taking into account the facts of the matter. Tell her the truth, take her advice, and let her do her job. She is equipped to attain the best possible outcome for you and your family.

My very first impression of Emily was amazing. Friends of mine were having their first child and the hospital would not allow the non birth mother to access their newborn due to them being a same sex couple. Emily not only answered her phone right away, she drove to the hospital to make sure her clients were being taken care of!
Emily (and Heather) stepped in to handle was was quickly becoming a very emotional situation. Within moments the problem was solved and our friends had a smooth adoption afterwards.
I knew Emily was going to be my first call to handle dissolving a civil union (issued only in Vermont) that I had been a part of since 2001. Emily met with me to go over my options on what I was told by two other attorneys would be nearly impossible and very costly. My former partner and I were tethered to a civil union that states no longer recognized and they were obsolete as marriage equality was on the horizon. The unfortunate part was those living in civil unions who had separated, like myself were caught up in the red tape of the courts with many courts claiming no jurisdiction, yet this was still a legal binding that would had to be dissolved to get officially married.
From the start Emily said "we will get this done, and if we can't at first we will keep trying until we do". Emily went far above and beyond in my case. On the day before the trial, the courts were all of a sudden requesting my EX be present. She lives 1200 miles away. Emily called the court endlessly the entire day and after hours, she faxed forms to the judge and guided not only me but pointed my ex in the proper direction to make sure she would not be left in some sort of trouble with the courts. As my case was in front of the judge, i was worried! I felt the judge was tough on the cases before mine....Emily was right next to me and consistently told me "its ok". When it was time for my case, Emily was confident and calm in front of the judge. She had a quick response for every question and was prepared for what seemed like anything and everything. 10 minutes later, my civil union which had been in limbo for years, was dissolved! Emily Charged me a regular uncontested divorce rate. She responded to every call and email within hours. I still can't believe it and Emily and I stay in touch to this very day!

In 2009, I went through a divorce after being married for 14 years to my high school sweetheart. I was devastated to find out that my husband was having an affair and that his mistress was moving from Boston to Jacksonville in less than 2 weeks. From the moment I walked into the office, Garrett and his paralegal, Jan, did whatever they could to put me at ease. I think of them as the "dynamic duo." They knew that I was scared, devastated and had no idea what was going to happen to me or my kids. Garrett treated me with respect and was beyond caring. Jan was always available for questions and Garrett was always prompt to reply when I needed to be in touch with him. This was my first experience with a lawyer. I was embarking on an extremely stressful high conflict custody dispute. As a father, I falsely believed I was at a disadvantage simply due to my gender and felt the court would side with the mother no matter the situation. In this instance I was confronted with a motion for my child to move out of state with the mother.
Alexis Revelo went above and beyond representing me. Her and her team such as Shaina Garcia are highly motivated, easy to talk to and are amazing at interpreting the sheer amount of noise that a custody dispute produces. She was honest, practical with custody expectations and always kept me true to the matter at hand when my personal emotions got in the way.

Ethan was a young sharp attorney then and he is a brilliant attorney now. My divorce was complex and difficult as it emanated from a foreign marriage. I never thought I would ever find a lawyer who could assist collect a divorce settlement awarded to me six years ago. It was easy to speak with him over the phone, as it was in person, in his office. My first impression was, he is bright, experienced and skilled in family law, sincere, and will definitely protect my interest as his client. Today in court I watched Mastery , Tanis is a skilled, brilliant, & powerful attorney. After I was falsely accused of domestic abuse in 2014 , and issued a restraining order and re issued again in 2015 , my prior lawyers basically told me to stay quiet and I did , I listened and listened to 100% false accusations my my ex , I hired attorney Yannetti in 2015 , she was confident right away she could have this restraining order terminated immediately , yet she she still made a wise decision to wait until today April 14, 2016 to finally " have my day in court " Tanis made this decision so she could get to work , pulling transcripts, having them transcribed , finding all inconsistent statements made by my ex Tanis found things that Nobody else saw , from big things like Purgery , to dates that just didn't or couldn't even be possible, all overlooked by my former council , she took on 4 lawers today , and stayed so cool , the plaintiff my ex , could not control herself and her lawyers and the judge had to constantly tell the plaintiff to stop , Tanis read every transcript and her knowledge on my case was outstanding, picking up immediate on any inaccuracies the opposing lawyers made and some were small that most attorneys would miss, her objections were timely and perfect and her asking of the relevance of certain items brought in or up kept the hearing in order not allowing anybody to divert the subject of why we were there and that was Justice , I was losing faith in our Justice system Tanis restored it!
