Geoffrey recently prepared a Will and two Durable Power of Attorney's for my wife and I. We were uncertain as to whether we should have a Will of a Trust. To become more familiar with our personal wishes, Geoffrey met with us on two occasions and then explained in a knowledgeable and unassuming way which documents would best suit us. We felt very comfortable calling him whenever a question would come up. During the actual preparation of our documents he kept us informed at each step.

I originally hired Mr. Weaver to handle 2 FDCPA violations back in 2011 and 2012. He was successful with both cases and then he took on my Chapter 7 BK which was granted in 2013. The final case was a foreclosure defense and then ultimately saved my house with a finalized HAMP modification. I have never had a lawyer that was completely successful in every case he took. Thank God for Jason Weaver!!!!!

Neil Schect is one of the most remarkable real estate attorney's I've worked with. Having had my real estate license for decades, I've been party to transactions with dozens of lawyers, and I've rarely experienced anyone so proficient, competent, and professional. He gets the job done every time, and I've had about 100 transactions with him. Top notch.

Stuart Goldberg represented me in a very difficult foreclosure litigation lasting several years. Every time the bank pulled some type of deception Mr. Goldberg countered and would not let them get away with it. I'm in my home thanks to Mr. Goldberg and his staff. If you have a problem requiring legal litigation give Stuart Goldberg a chance, he won't let you down.

They made the experience easy and their expertise was so helpful. They returned calls and emails promptly and I always knew the status of the case. They were in constant communication as well with the nursing home to coordinate the process. I could not have navigated the Medicaid process and required information without their extensive knowledge of the laws. Each state is so different in what is allowed and not by Medicaid it can become overwhelming but Mr. Frazier and his associates simplified this in easy to understand for myself. They truly care about the client's. Thank you all. I highly recommend them for any Elder Law needs.

I had a case difficult to prove, and not a case that would likely be one she (or anyone else) would take because of the difficulty of recovery. Nonetheless she was very helpful in explaining some basic issues, and mostgracious in spending time with me although she knew I could not afford even a consultation.

I worked with Ms. Dahlberg on a healthcare reimbursement issue. She responded to me promptly, and was able to explain issues in a clear and concise manner. I really appreciate that when I work with an attorney. In the end, we decided not to litigate the issue. Working with Ms. Dahlberg, I felt certain that everything had been handled correctly, and that, if we had needed to litigate, I would have been in good hands.

I used this firm twice - once in 2004, and again in about 2006. I found that they were attentive to detail and achieved results that were satisfactory. Their fees were reasonable. I am happy with the results, and would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend. I don't use lawyers very often. I was happy with the outcome from using these guys.

Mr. Bozelli and Cynthia, this is Scott, SSG, USA, Retired, B.S., O.M., C.A.R.T., your military client in Austin TX, Thank you for writing the most excellent letter of recommendation anyone has ever seen. I get good compliments from that. It's on my website. In August 2023, The US Department of Defense reviewed the attorney case file and read the letters you had sent me over the duration and issued you a Certificate of Recognition for top-notch representation and outstanding attorney-client relationship . As I read the letters myself, I'm reminded how inspiring you were during those days. Accomplishments that otherwise would go unnoticed by the command, you did notice. You were the soldier's command and you were the only connection there was to the military for quite a while. Thank you for accepting my proposed strategy, easily agreeing on issues, and your regular weekly calls to stay in touch. The fact that you asked me questions and sought my advice allowed me to be in control - necessary because there was a lot at stake and I needed to be the one responsible in case things not go as planned. A different attorney, an overly eager egotistical aggressive one or a large law firm, with differences of opinion, would have been a bad choice. This attorney is highly recommended for cases of Constitutional Law.

Compassion, what does that mean these days? It's defined as a sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. I disagree. I, personally, what describe it has caring for another human being relating to or understanding one situation. My case started when I was blindfoldedly hit with a custody modification ask me back then and I would not have a clue as to where to start telling you what this meant. However, what I did know was that this was going to be very close to my heart, in fact, better said this is my whole world that they were putting on the stand. First court date had a little hiccup and I was a tad bit concerned; I mean after all this is my whole world. The trial.... Mr. Inserni was fantastic. He was absolutely fantastic every angle he killed it, every witness he tore apart, and the one thing I will never forget is what he told me from the beginning... I'm not here to attack the opposing party I'm here to defend you. That's exactly what he did I highly recommend this attorney he is compassionate, professional, prompt, and precise. If it's family law, he will kill it out there.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
