**Review of Gill Law Group**:
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Gill Law Group and specifically with Raja's office. When I first walked in for a consultation, Raja made big promises, assuring me that he could help with my divorce and even promised to hold my ex in contempt, claiming he would do everything necessary to push the case forward. I felt confident in his assurances.
However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. Despite knowing that I didn’t have the financial means to pay upfront, they began accumulating my bill in anticipation of the upcoming hearing. As time went on, their strategy became clear: they were more interested in racking up fees than actually working toward a resolution. They suggested a strategy that was completely counterproductive and ultimately would not help my case.
Just two days before my court hearing, they dropped me, advising me to get a continuance so I could save money, even though I had already paid them for their services. To make matters worse, they continued to bill me during this period, charging me for communications about the strategy they never even followed through with. And then, out of nowhere, an additional $3,900 appeared on my bill. In total, they billed me over $11,000 in one month for services that were not only ineffective but actively harmed my case.
I felt like I was being extorted. The pressure to come up with more money or risk being abandoned at the hearing was beyond unprofessional. They were hired to attend my hearing, not to charge me exorbitant fees for billing-related tasks like writing down appointments. It felt like a shake-down.
After reading through other reviews, I found that many others had similar negative experiences. The only review that truly resonated with my situation was the one that echoed the same frustrations I experienced. If you're considering this firm, I'd strongly recommend you look elsewhere for legal representation.

Divorce is anything but a walk in the park, but through the distress, anxiety, and uncertainty around the process, Katie Fox, and her team at Fox & Bank, have done a phenomenal job in allaying any concerns or fears that I had, and helped run mediations between myself and my ex-spouse in a comfortable, fairly low-stress, and overall effective manner. I was really impressed with the way Attorney Lacy was very direct with me. I was really angry and emotional, and he was able to redirect my goals to be reasonable. I was really in a vulnerable state of mind, and he told me he needed to protect me from me more than anything. He was right. Mr. Lacy was unable to assist in achieving my goal of equal and shared parenting and custody. He seemed to go through the motions. Prepared documents had errors and lacked clarity. This resulted in extra back and forth and fees. Ultimately, I found a new attorney to represent me.
Examples:
- He correspond with opposing counsel to address court ordered phone calls/schedule but failed to achieve anything
- Rather than work for me, he seemed to agree to anything opposing counsel requested
- Mr. Lacy was difficult to contact and working with him was a mistake
I'm writing this review to make others aware that Mr. Lacy is a "fair/average" attorney, despite his advertisements and sensational ratings. I was shocked to see "superb" as his Avvo rating. This is not accurate.

Consistently delays hearings & admitted it to one of my witnesses! Also, (congrats to her) she's pregnant & will be on maternity leave probably Mid Oct 2024 until next year! She started off strong, UNTIL SHE WASN'T!! Which only lasted a few weeks. Acts like she cares about your case. I absolutely promise, she does NOT! She has no empathy for your divorce. Only her pocket book & vacations! You have to beg her to get something done! In an 8 month span, she has been absent 3 months, for vacations! Upon her return she has her office call me for more funds. In total she took me & my family for $24,000. My divorce has been going on for 2 years. 15 months w/Ms. Laundis. I hired her to help w/a very contentious divorce. She assured me she could handle this case! Obviously, she could NOT. She kept telling me I was giving the respondent too much credit, saying "he's not that smart." But then I'd predict his next move. She'd say to me, "you really know this guy." No Sh*t Sherlock! I was the one married to him! She rushes the case w/the Judge & will dismiss motions to make things easier for her. She'll make promises over the phone, then denies she ever said it! SHE DOUBLE CHARGES HER CLIENT'S. She copped to it over the phone to me. Then to smooth things over, she deducted $10,000. off of my bill as what she "claimed" was a "courtesy."You don't take $10,000 off a bill for a courtesy!
I made it very known that the person I was divorcing was going to cause a lot of issues, lie about income, expenses, committed no less than 10 Atro's violations, stalked me, committed perjury, along w/ lying to an officer in 2022 on camera. & now has 21 contempt charges. First court appearance w/her, she called me to asked if we could dismiss 35 motions to compel that the respondent was to provide the Court. I Stated "NO." I had paid a previous attorney for those motions & believed them to be vital to my case. She stated "we could handle it at another time." So she dismissed them. I was so mad! She over books herself w/clients. She gets her clients cases mixed up in court. She even discussed someone else's case w/me instead of mine. Since my motion to compels were dismissed, she realized we "DID INDEED" need the info & thus subpoenas were sent out to all of the companies. Which only delayed my hearings even further. I better not see a bill for, since it was her error, Not mine! In January 2024 a temporary court order was put into place. After 21 days of the order not being complied w/by the respondent, I requested Ms. Laundis to file contempt charges. Arrangement was set for early June. Only to find out that the respondent hired an attorney last minute. (as I predicted he would to Ms Laundis) Knowing that his arraignment would be extended. Court was to be set sometime in July, as his attorney could catch up on the case. But because she would be gone for a 5 week vacation abroad, my hearing date would be extended another 2 1/2 months. Now that the hearing is here, she demanded more money & had her office personnel advise me that if I don't pay, she will not represent me at the hearing. I sent her an email asking to pls help me make a proposal to the respondent. As I just want this divorce over. I made her an offer that would provide her funds. She wrote “payment arrangements will not be acceptable" I made it very known when she accepted the case "that the respondent was to pay for my attorney fees." She NEVER filed that paperwork. A family member left a 1 star review, stating she was just after people's money & not doing her job. She saw the post & called me up to let me know she would not complete my case due to the third party review. But she'll take their money!

This is the worst family attorney I’ve had the misfortune of working with. I hired her to do three crucial tasks and she did nothing on my behalf for me or my child! One submit vital medical documents to the judge. Two help me debunk/ defend myself against false allegations. Three help me gain more custody and visitation of my child. Instead she surrendered my legal custody without my knowledge or consent, while I was not present. She set me and my child back years and burned through around 8K giving me the run around and playing both sides. She cannot be trusted and should have her legal license revoked. She’s a liar and by the time I caught wind she was helping the opposing party it was too late; and I lost legal custody. It took years and over 10K to get it back! So she actually wasted ~20 thousand and vital years for us while my child is struggling & suffering. All because she’s a greedy, crooked, con artist only interested in charging top dollar for empty promises to pay for her million dollar mortgage in Laguna.

I had a good experience with Envision, last year 2024 I started my process for a divorce. My divorce was tricky because my "husband" has been MIA since 2018. I realized that I needed an attorney to accomplish this goal for divorce instead of following the advice of family & friends to "do it on your own it should be easy."
IT WASN'T EASY & I WOULD STILL BE AT THE START LINE AND HAVING ALREADY PULLED OUT ALL MY HAIR TRYING TO DO THIS ON MY OWN.
I am an overthinker nothing is easy for us, I am pretty sure at the beginning I was driving the staff at Envision a little crazy with all my questions & concerns. Its okay I saw it on my invoices and of course no complaints they should charge me for all my questions and concerns. But I got the answers I needed and after awhile I let them handle it and left them alone to do their job I hired them for. They made this experience as painless as possible for me, my divorce took almost a year but like I said it was a tricky one. There is also a lot of hurry up and wait moments (i.e.. court filings). Getting a divorce you need to understand it takes time and does not happen with a snap of your fingers. Just know with Envision it will happen and as fast as they possibly can get it for you.

This law firm only best interest is money. Not you as a client. Please read this again! They will double bill you, double charge you and change the words on the statements to make it seem as if it's different paperwork they are filing. Also, the attorney will tell you that you can pay 6k and that will cover one court appearance. This is also false. I've already paid this firm over 10k and still paying as I'm still in the process. I suggest finding a lawyer who has a flat rate fee. I have not seen any production with this firm whatsoever. At this point I'm just dumping money for the same paperwork to be filed. Please save yourself the stress and time and find somewhere else! You will barely ever speak with the actual attorney only the paralegals. They seem to know very little about their jobs. If I wasn't so far in I'd represent myself. By the time this is all over I'm sure they will break the bank. Don't walk but run to another firm and do your research!

When my husband passed away it was a shock. A friend realized that I was going to need a lawyer. I called Charles office in a panic and spoke with Beth. Without hesitation Charles was on the phone with me and after only 10 minutes he knew exactly what to do. He showed up for me! For 3 years, he and the team were my voice. It was a complicated, frustrating fight to the finish. Through the entirety of the pandemic, with court cases being pushed and dealing with multiple lawyers on the other side, Charles and team kept me calm, walked me through everything step by step. They made sure to answer every question, take every meeting and most importantly heard every word I said. Even when I was completely freaking out. Charles was my muscle.
Professional, trustworthy, knowledgeable about the law. Charles and team are also compassionate, but tough when it comes to fighting for what is right.

Stay away from Trevor Hensley! He is a very passive and highly ineffective attorney and will drag your case out a long as he can, especially if you have known available resources for him to readily deplete. He's much more interested in convincing you to settle for much less than in fighting to get you the greatest outcome; as he works much harder in getting on very friendly terms with the opposing party than in representing you and giving you the needed advice to place you in a favorable position. He thinks he's being effective by becoming "friendly" with the opposing party, when actually, he's getting played and set up for being out-witted and out-foxed. Which he was at every single turn in all of my cases.
I hired Trevor to assist me in a highly contentious Divorce, DCSS Child Support and Custody Case that involve a DVRO without any conviction or charges, only allegations. And unfortunately over time it became apparent that Trevor was in way over his head and was incapable of providing adequate counsel for this degree of such highly contested magnitude.
Trevor repeatedly manipulated me by giving me false expectations and then failing to deliver. He required constant reminding of the fundamental facts of the case and charged me for every minute, and then some. Then in court, he rarely argued to any degree worthy his fee. Most often, I could have presented a much better argument. Never was he even remotely aggressive. Most of the time he was very cordial, amicable and completely unconvincing.
After over a year of his representation and nearly $40,000 in legal fees all I had to show for it was a mere 15% visitation time share with my two toddler boys, joint legal custody only, a non-rebutted 3044 DV case, and an unresolved DCSS Child Support and Dissolution Case. And in the end Trevor deceived me into signing him out of my cases and left me with unresolved issues in every case; while unashamedly taking my money.
Every and any favorable decision I received from the courts came as a result of my own efforts before his involvement. Trevor did absolutely nothing for me except take my money and vacate a trial to rebut the Family Code 3044 presumption in lieu of getting me joint legal custody which really amounted to very little considering the cost I incurred while still keeping me bound under the presumption.
The bulk of his charges were for responding to email threads that were often a result of asking me for repeat information or because of him not adequately responding to my phone calls and then not answering my initial email inquiries properly in the first place when there was no other way of communicating with him. In his emails, he would purposely respond vaguely only to generate more questions that required his additional response. He preferred email over phone calls because he could arbitrarily manipulate his charges for time.
Trevor is an office attorney not a litigator, and prefers making his living sitting behind his desk over-charging for things that don't have a direct and positive impact on your case, but serve only to absolve you of your money. There were many tasks that he'd ask me to prepare for him in helping defend my case and then wouldn't even use them in my defense at the hearings or in the negotiations. However, he did insist on appearing for me on a motion in a criminal case to modify a CPO where he convinced me that he needed to be there to ensure that a then very restrictive CPO would be modified to align with the more lenient DVRO, which he at failed miserably, but still charged me over $3000 for his time.
I would certainly not recommend trusting Trevor Hensley to handle any highly contested family matter. In the end, he deceptively walked away from my representation without anything resolved and without any shame or remorse. He failed miserably on so many levels with my cases it's not even funny! I retained Trevor Hensley to help me with a custody and child support battle. He was my attorney for over a year. I first tried reasoning with insurance to no avail, then tried California insurance commission and they were of no help. This firm took over and they did all the communication with insurance and their attorneys. We received full payment of the original quoted bids to redo our kitchen. I wasted tens of thousands of dollars being taken advantage of by this firm... lawyers that couldn't even get my name correct, didn't communicate with eachother, and accomplished literally nothing for me in my divorce. They continually tried to "go to war" with my ex-husband and billed me for things that were completely unnecessary, stoking a fire that did not even need to be lit. Funny how I was able to get my divorce finalized and processed with no anxiety or headache once I fired this firm. They took advantage of a vulnerable single mother and should be ashamed of themselves.

The worst family law attorney. Laurel is extremely hard to get a hold of. She did not explain legal terminology when I filled out forms for my divorce which has now resulted in lifelong spousal support. She had someone from her office call at the last minute to say that if I don’t submit certain information by that day then I would be fined $5,000 when I was never asked to submit the info prior to that moment. Overall she did not act in my best interest. I really regret hiring her.

We live in Texas and our son is stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California
Our son got a dear john from his wife the day after he was deployed to the Middle East and informed that she had filed for divorce and she would be sending the papers.
While deployed he would call to speak to his two year old daughter and read her a bedtime story. He had to leave these on voicemail as his calls a world away were not picked up.
He returned to a tumultuous household six months later and divorce proceedings were initiated by his wife they had been married approximately a year and a half.
He had to hire an attorney and chose Ms. Mellanie Marshall.
Divorce is a terrible and damaging event to all parties and especially when children are involved.
Ms. Marshall was very patient in dealing with a highly frustrated client. As a member of the military he could be deployed or transferred at any time. This was a concern as a custody issue and was emotionally crushed that he might not be a part of his daughter’s life.
M.s Marshall provided my son a realistic scenario of the possible outcomes but also was able to remain a calming influence to her client. She thoroughly researched the parties involved to come up with her game plan. She was interested in what was in the best interest of her client as well as the child. She was able to work with the opposing attorney to reach what would have been a reasonable accommodation to reduce the turmoil in the little girl’s life as well as the divorcing couple. The opposing attorney was unable to get her client to be reasonable with conditions that would allow both parents to be involved with the child. As a result, the opposing attorney was unable to work with her client and removed herself as her representative.
In court Ms. Marshall was competent, thorough and I believe more than reasonable. The outcome that Ms. Marshall achieved was fantastic. My son has a custodial arrangement that allows him to be an integral part of his daughters’ life. She took a toxic situation and turned it into lemonade. My son has renewed his spirit and his daughter is happy. She now has an opportunity to interact with other children her age at the on base child development center.
If you want a good attorney in dealing with a messy divorce situation you can’t go wrong with Marshall Law (firm).

Angela has represented my family for 3 years and she is amazing! I have restraining order, custody, and child support case against my ex who is a political figure. Angela is amazing for many reasons but here are my top 3: she knows the law and the judges; she is tech savvy; she is empathetic.
When I was assigned judge Nöel Wise Angela recommended we switch judges and she was so right! Also, when my ex attempted to divert the case to his political egotistical self, she redirected the case back to the well-being of our son.
Second, I text Angela (Yes, TEXT) if anything comes up, like an R.O. violation, and she responds quickly with a call or text.
Third, she understands survivors of domestic violence in the justice system- sometimes the system is not just. However, she advocates strongly for justice! I really trust her with everything!

I’m really late at writing this, but my husband and I hired Sara Anderson to help with termination of parental rights, stepparent adoption and a restraining order.
