I contacted acted Mr. Fitzgerald on the recommendation of a friend who had heard of him. My case is a federal one, and th local attorneys I contacted seemed halfhearted.
Mr. Fitzgerald clearly thought that local would be ideal, but spent almost an hour with me reviewing the events leading to my case, then recommending someone within my state.
Then, he offered to take the case if I hadn't luck there, and ended up being my attorney! He is so talented, drilling down to the essential issue to get to the bottom line, and has prepared me perfectly for my testimony in depositions so far.
I couldn't recommend Mr. Fitzgerald more. He takes my case seriously, and clearly doesn't waste my time or money on nonsense. I always understand what's going n and what to expect next. He's very accessible too, which is far more than I can say for most of the attorneys I contacted in the beginning!
Two states away and still feels like he's a next door neighbor I can call on.

If you are in need of an attorney, consider the McCue Law Firm. You will get a highly educated, experienced husband wife team and a super staff behind them. I cannot tell you how dismayed we were with the other attorneys we interviewed, but once I sat down and spoke to Lisa McCue, she explained everything, told us the procedure, and pretty much assured us everything would be just fine. I knew from my consultation with Lisa McCue that my worries would soon be over. I had a consultation with another attorney who told me that I could only qualify for a Chapter 13 (and he didn't even look at any of my paperwork) and that I should try negotiating with my creditors. That didn't work out so well. I decided to see another attorney and found the McCue Law Firm. I was there for about an hour and did not feel rushed or felt like I was asking too many questions. I felt relieved when I left and I hadn't even started the paperwork yet.
I had many questions during the process of collecting all of the documentation needed for my case. I had so many questions and Carol, the paralegal working on my case, was so very helpful. She returned my phone calls, sometimes as late as 6PM and always made me feel reassured and was always professional. She answered every email I sent and addressed all of my concerns. She is truly an asset to the firm. Sonya was also very friendly whenever I called their office.
On the day of my hearing, Mr. McCue was prompt and we went over one or two things before heading in for my hearing. I was very nervous but he was also very reassuring and again, professional, not to mention personable and easy to talk and relate to.
Making the decision to file bankruptcy was a difficult one but this team is outstanding. I felt ashamed and embarrassed but the McCue's told me all of the reasons that I should not be and they were right. I am more than pleased with the quality of representation I received. Aside from that, it is my impression that this law office is not out to nickel and dime its clients, rather, they practice this type of law to help those of us in need and do a fantastic job. I am thankful that now I can move on with my life and financially get back on my feet.

Purvi Patel was the attorney assigned to handle my case, about 8 months after I retained Richard Shuster. Purvi came to work at Shuster & Saben at about that time. I was introduced to her and was impressed with her depth of knowledge, and her complete familiarity and understanding of the facts pertaining to my case PRIOR to us ever meeting face to face. As the case progressed, she handled every aspect, and kept me informed at every step of the way. She was always available and answered calls, and inquiries, almost immediately. Brooks has handled numerous cases for me over the years. There is one that is still going after 3.5 years. This is a complicated commercial litigation case against a multi-billion dollar hedge fund. Brooks has been always one step ahead of the LARGE LAW firm for the hedge fund. I do not believe the number one rated law firm in Florida could have handled my case better then Brooks Ricca has done for me.

I hired Brooks Ricca after interviewing several other firms and am I glad I did. He is a straight talking, hard working, intelligent attorney who is also truly concerned about his clients. Due to the real estate collapse of 2008 I was facing a very complex and insurmountable legal battle. Brooks tirelessly explored every possible resolution strategy, put up many very good defenses and ultimately personally oversaw the proceedings by another firm in Federal Court. It was a pleasure working with Nick and his paralegal, Annabella Chin. Nick was very responsive and he went out of his way to counsel my wife and I on multiple questions, legal or otherwise, related to closing on our first home purchase. I had the pleasure of consulting with David about a business litigation case where the landlord severely damaged my lease for no reason. I have used Bob for unfortunately 2 lawsuits (1 an injury accident and 2nd and auto accident). Bob has always taken his time to explain and help me understand my given lawsuits. My experience with Ms. Tarafa was at first a difficult one as my case was being investigated and discovery and depositions were being scheduled. I was facing up to 15 years in Federal Prison. Ms. Tarafa's demeanor is that of a pitbull in a skirt when it comes to defending her clients, regardless of guilt. Her background having worked for the State Attorney serves as an excellent frame of reference in her negotiations. She's upfront with her clients, but also empathetic enough to get to know who she's dealing with. After negotiations with the State, Ms. Tarafa was able to assist me in a plea deal and sentencing that was favorable and was able to help me "avoid the worse case scenario."
If you find yourself in a tough legal situation, you want Ms. Tarafa on your side - she will give you all the facts and those are scary to hear most of the time, but she will also assist you in assuring that, as she told me after my first hearing, "will fight to get you the results that are best for your lifestyle." She certainly delivered, I'm writing this review from work and I can carry on with my life under community control, no tether, with reporting to a PO once a week which is certainly better than 15 years in Federal Prison that would've stripped me of a normal life.
I am forever indebted to Ms. Tarafa for her determination to assist her clients.
