I have owned my own business for over 25 years. I was first referred to Mr. Fraser when I had a major litigation threatened against me by one of Orange County's biggest companies. Someone who wanted to shut my company down. Due to my history as a business owner, I have (and still do) known many lawyers, with many different specialties. I told my attorneys, and my friends, that in this particular case I needed a real "bulldog." That is how I was originally referred to Dave. He did not disappoint.
In the ensuing 20 years, I have been fortunate to have Dave help me and my companies with all sorts of things. Litigation. Land use. Employee affairs. Corporate governance. He also has represented many people I care about when it comes to their personal injuries.

What could have been a second DUI from a prior wet/reckless was argued down to a first offense. I was scared of what I was facing in court, but Pratik reassured me that he would personally see to it that I face minimal consequences, but didn't sugarcoat anything either. George Karpouzis answered the phone right away when I called. I needed help with an immigration documentation issue and he was accommodating to meet with me the same day. During our conversation, he provided excellent advice and proceeded to work with me towards solving the issue. I had called multiple attorneys before him and they were unable to provide help in any meaningful way, but George knew what was needed right away. We can’t say enough great things about Marc Witham. He is professional, responsive, and has excellent follow-through. Most important, he is highly knowledgeable of California state rental laws so he’s well qualified to put landlords in their place.
In our case, my wife and I had lived in a rental house for seven years and always had a good relationship with the landlord. Due to an undiscovered water leak, the wood floors in the house began to heave and buckle over the course of a month. The landlord’s handyman removed a section of flooring and we observed white mold covering the dirt crawl space. The entire floor needed to be removed and the mold remediated. Rather than work with us to temporarily move out, the landlord sent us an email stating she had no choice but to evict us.
We’re certain the true reason she evicted us was to substantially increase the rent. The effect on us was that we were pushed into a highly inflated San Diego rental market, with rents at 30% and higher than what we’d been paying. Panic set in the moment we received the 60-day notice.
When we were evicted, our stress levels reached boiling point as our landlord kept calling us daily to find out when we’d be moving. We needed help right away. Marc’s online appointment system let us set up an initial consultation (we were able to schedule a call the very next morning). As residential tenants, it cost us $160 for our first call. That may seem like a lot, but the waves of relief we felt afterward made it well worth the money.
It’s the relief from stress that we appreciated most. What we really needed was enough time to find a new rental. On that first call, after hearing our situation Marc was immediately able to cite a state code section that granted us far longer than the landlord’s 60-day notice. He also advised that her notice wouldn’t hold up because it wasn’t properly formatted or delivered. It was clear we were working with the right attorney for the job.
Our rental situation dragged on for over two months, and we spent just under $1,000 in attorney fees. It was worth every cent. Marc initially issued a detailed letter, filled with legal citations specific to our case (i.e., not a form letter), that pushed back on the landlord. When she kept calling us, which we considered harassment at that point, Marc intervened again and asserted he was now acting as our voice, stating all communications needed to go through him. Words can’t express the relief we felt.
Not only did Marc get us the time we needed to find a new place, he also helped negotiate an equitable settlement so we could recoup expenses we’d suffered. We’re not talking millions here, but it was enough to ease the pain and cover our moving costs.
If you’re in a bind with your landlord, I would highly suggest Marc’s services. My wife and I remain confident that hiring Marc was the smartest move we possibly could have done. – Kurt S.

Steven Bronson genuinely cares about his clients and once you meet him that is evident! He is honest and trustworthy; he is not only a super attorney but he is also a really great guy. He recently represented 16 plaintiffs in a lead injury case and was able to gain justice for each of the plaintiffs, who suffered from ADHD, behavioral disorders and other neurological disorders caused from the lead. I was referred to Wesley Wakeford in the fall of 2007 by a retiring personal injury attorney that did not have adequate time to devote to my case. I had recently been hit by a car and in addition to suffering from nerve damage, trauma and not being able to work, the insurance companies were unwilling to compensate me for my medical bills and associated expenses due to a discrepancy in the police report. I needed to find an expert to assist me with navigating the case and Mr. Wakeford came highly recommended. Despite my lack of financial resources Wesley was wiling to work with me and saw to it that I was able to receive consistent medical care by arranging a lien for services with my various healthcare providers. This ability to receive regular, ongoing medical attention allowed me to fully recover from the accident and years later I am confident that I received both the best healthcare and legal assistance possible. Wesley was very thorough and knowledgeable in helping me account for all of my affiliated expenses and he followed through by seeing to it that each of these items was paid for when the case was closed. I found it pleasurable working with Wesley Wakeford as he was the first really good lawyer that I've ever met. Most of the legal professionals seemed, politically biased, semi-professional, and arrogant. I would think that such an important service would attract the most highly rated, professional people. Unfortunately that is not always the case.
My experience with Mr. Wakeford gave me a new view of the world of law. While I'm sure he did not make a great deal of money with my case; not once did I get the impression that I was not as important as the next client. Mr. Wakeford worked very hard to assist me in getting through the process as easily as possible. My automobile accident left me injured, angry, and confused but with the help of The Wakeford Firm things got sorted out in a clear and equitable manner. I also find it very interesting that Wes was there to guide me through Doctor Visits, car rentals, insurance matters and settlement negotiations. I had virtually no experience in these matters, but it was obvious to me that I had one the most caring and skillful lawyers around to help me.
