Mariza is the best lawyer I've worked with over the years. She knows a lot, and she is fast at finding out what her clients need. Her manner in handling my case was skilled and professional but also personable, considerate and encouraging. She always responds to calls, email and texts, usually the same day. Her rates and billing practices are fair, and in my case, extremely generous. Mariza represented me in a matter that most lawyers might be afraid to confront, and she made the difference in the way things played out in the end in ways that only a person of the highest character would know and be able to do for a client.

Monique and her entire team were phenomenal. We were involved in a very complex international business. Things did not go the way we had hoped and everyone came out of the woodwork trying to get a piece of us. Monique and her firm were truly expert in boiling the multiple cases down to several key issues, consolidating some of the cases and then vigorously built a solid fact based defense. They worked tirelessly for 4 years until the case finally came to trial and then performed brilliantly during trial. Their knowledge of the facts was so deep that they were able to not only dissect the oppositions positions, but get their witnesses to change their positions on the stand because of the overwhelming evidence they were able to refer to at a moments notice. I will try and keep this short and sweet. I was represented by a different law firm and after a year they came to me with minimal results and an offer that was basically a slap in the face. Obviously very unhappy and feeling defeated. I turned to Charles Picutta for a consultation. In the first meeting I knew I shouldnt settle with my previous lawyer and I should give Mr. Piccuta a shot. I cant say enough about him and the way he handled my case. After a year with him we settled and he was able to get the maximum for my case. He handled everything with confidence and determination. I switched to the Piccuta Law Group after the firm representing me failed to file a lawsuit for my personal injury accident. My accident involved a high speed collision where my nine month old and nine year old son and daughter were in the car. The former firm was trying to get me to settle my case for an amount they claimed was a “great offer.” The insurance company’s offer barely offered anything to compensate my children and was less than I expected.
The former firm only met with me when they thought I was going to switch attorneys, barely discussed my case with me before that and never took a sworn statement from the other side. The former firm also told me that they didn’t think that we could claim damages for my children. It left me wondering why I hired an attorney to take 1/3 of my settlement if all they were going to do was collect my medical records and send them to the insurance company before settling. I could do that myself.
My experience with the attorneys from the Piccuta Law Group was completely different. I met with Charles Piccuta in person and he spent time discussing my case with me, going over the attorney agreement and explaining the legal process. He analyzed the strength and weaknesses of my case and we developed a plan to maximize my settlement. Within weeks he had filed and served a lawsuit, confirmed that the police were prosecuting the other driver for being on prescription medication at the time of the accident and advanced claims for emotional distress on behalf of my son.
The Piccuta Law Group is a professional law firm and the attorneys earn their money. This is not a “churn and burn” outfit. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my decision to use them and would recommend them to anyone with an injury case.

I had known Attorney Mcgrail for a number of years, first as a fellow volunteer at a non-profit organization where I continue to appreciate and value her commitment to a worthy cause. It was in this context that I first divulged information about a stressful situation regarding an incompatible roommate who was attempting to evict me with insufficiently timed, improper notice. Since I had immediate need of legal counsel, and since Ms. Mcgrail is licensed to practice in Maryland as well as Washington, D.C., she offered to help. Her advice was sound and given the fact that she does not specialize in cases of this nature, I was impressed with the versatility of both her knowledge and skills. Even in the most emotionally wrought moments of my dilemma, she was calm, professional, and at the same time, compassionate. Her advice was sound; decisions not to take action were just as effective as the actions she did take. She reviewed letters and forms I submitted and was instrumental in resolving the case without going to court. Telephone calls were returned promptly. One thing that impressed me the most was her response to detailed voicemail. On a day in which my situation changed dramatically over the course of a couple of hours, I called twice, once to ask Mary Ann Mcgrail to place a call on my behalf, and then, later, to request that she not place that call. Because she listened to all her messages before taking action, I was able to avoid a potentially difficult turn of events. Mr. Burgess and his team provided exceptional service and, frankly, unexpected positive results in a Federal Whistleblower Retaliation case just over a year ago. Due to Mr. Burgess, determination, knowledge, and artful management of the hearings, we prevailed. In addition, Mr. Burgess negotiated an acceptable settlement to a separate Discrimination complaint (EEOC) brought against the same Federal agency. These cases are complex and quite difficult with the purse and legal infrastructure of the Federal Government stacked up against plaintiffs with limited resources. Mr. Burgess took the Federal government to task twice, on my behalf, and prevailed both times. Mr. Burgess passion was evident throughout the process. Mr. Burgess' remarkable oratory skill was on full display during extemporaneous closing remarks where he pulled together two days' of witness testimony and key points from hundreds of pages of evidence to close the door on the Federal attorneys' arguments. When Mr. Burgess finished, the opposing team looked resigned and simply shook their heads. I recommend Mr. Burgess to anyone who needs representation in his areas of expertise. I will certainly seek his counsel again if I am ever in need of legal representation.

I don't have the words to accurately describe my feelings about Harrison Law Offices. From the moment that I first reached out to them, I knew that I was in great hands. The office was always professional, responsive, and courteous.
When I initially called to ask a couple of legal questions, I had no idea that my questions would turn into a case but when it did, I didn't hesitate to reach out to Jim, who advised and guided me through the entire process. I recall a few of the words that he told me that day. "I'm on the team," he said.
Funny to say that throughout a six month ordeal, we only ever met face to face once because of the pandemic. I'm sure their normally challenging job was even more so because of the difficulties associated with the lockdowns and Covid-19 gathering rules. Every challenge was met and I am so pleased to report a positive result. I have no doubt that this would not have been possible without the efforts of Jim and his team and will be forever grateful.
Jim demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the law surrounding my case from day one and, where the legal precedent was lacking (as it was in my particular situation), he had the ability and knowhow to do the research to find applicable case law in other states and apply it to my situation. It was this effort, in my opinion, that led directly to a win for my side in defense of a post-employment restrictive covenant case against me.
I could not recommend them more strongly and I don't offer that type of praise often. I would not hesitate to hire Jim again and would call him for just about any legal question that I can imagine.

Larry represented me against my former employer - a popular and well resourced tech company in the Bay Area - to negotiate an improved severance agreement. A number of other attorneys to whom I had spoken before Larry were less than optimistic about my chances for success, but Larry agreed to take my case and persevered through some relatively involved negotiations and was able to obtain a severance package that allowed me to realize a significantly larger portion of my compensation than I was initially offered!
He was calm, professional, and reassuring throughout, explaining the process clearly along the way, and scheduled time to talk with me in advance of deadlines when decisions had to be made so I would have time to think and ask any additional questions, if I had them, through each of the stages of that negotiation.
I was particularly impressed by his ability to forge a good working relationship with the company's representatives and make steady progress despite the friction between myself and ex-employer, and tension in the situation due to upcoming deadlines for both sides.
Without his assistance, my family and I would have lost the majority of the compensation I had otherwise been due to receive, and he turned a horrifying situation into something that was much more fair, and much better than I'd expected, which was a huge weight off my shoulders!

I consigned a vintage car in an action. It sold. The auction house delayed paying me the hammer price. When I enquired about the delay they told me the buyer was disputing the provenance of the car.
At that point I hired Cheryl Ruggerio to negotiate on my behalf.
She was very thorough and quick to understand all the documentation I presented her with and was able to research and fill in all the gaps providing the auction house with indisputable evidence of the cars long history.
